Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13: THE STONE'S FINAL PIECE

After tying up the Divine Stone, Dr. Wade and Dr. Diana step out of her lab, their only thought being to somehow contact the organization. But the moment they try, they realize the networks were already corrupted, and on top of that, the lights all around were flickering strangely as well, something that had started happening right after the Divine Stone had touched Diana's phone. Due to this, they could not call someone for help and could only resort to rushing directly back to the lab as quickly as they could go, so that they could somehow come back amenable with the right gear and the required forces. Everyone who was present there at that time was facing a lot of trouble and confusion.

After some time passes, Zyric makes his way to Diana's lab. He had come there searching for Diana's cabin, because he wanted to meet Dr. Diana personally and return one of her things, something she had forgotten earlier in his room. In the blink of an eye, Zyric reaches Diana's cabin. Naturally, the doctors who were standing nearby asked him why exactly he wanted to meet Dr. Diana, but Zyric already had a card with him, something that Dr. Diana herself had given to him so that he could meet her secretly whenever the need might arise. The moment they saw the card, the doctors did not ask anything further and just left him go ahead to meet Dr. Diana in her cabin.

The moment he pushes open the door and enters her cabin he sees something odd. Right there in front of him, Zyric sees Dr. Wade. "D… Dr. Wade? I've heard a lot about you. B… but why are you tied here like this? I mean, in Dr. Diana's lab?" Zyric asked with surprise in his voice.

To this, Dr. Wade, who in truth was none other than the Divine Stone in disguise, replied with a casual laugh, "Hey, haha, don't worry, actually she was experimenting on me, and I ended up giving her a bit of trouble. You know how she is, completely mad about her profession, and that's why she has tied me up here like this."

Then, after pausing for a moment, Dr. Wade, who was in fact the Divine Stone, said to Zyric, "Can you do one thing for me? Can you help me untie this? I am not able to do it by myself."

Zyric nodded a yes in agreement and began walking towards him. But before untying Dr. Wade, he first placed down the thing he had originally come to return to Dr. Diana, which was nothing more than some normal food that Diana had brought the previous night to his apartment for him to eat. Zyric had not liked it at all, and because of that he had refused to eat anything the whole night. Although he felt hungry, yet he was not ready to accept or take anything that was offered to him by Diana, regardless of what happens to him.

After putting the food packet aside, Zyric went closer to Dr. Wade. At that very moment, Dr. Wade, or rather the Divine Stone within him, was looking at Zyric with an evil smile.

Why?

Because the Divine Stone had sensed his final missing piece of stone, and it was sticking right there on Zyric's shoulder.

On the other hand, Zyric was struggling as he tried to untie the ropes.

"Uh, who tied you like this? It is so strong, I don't think I can untie this. Let me ask for help from someone outside." Zyric said with effort.

To this, Dr. Wade, immediately responded, "Hey, hey, hey, look dude, don't go outside, please don't leave me alone. The situation here is already bad enough, the flickering lights are giving wrong signals, and because of that everyone is afraid. You can help me, yes, you can. Help me get out of here, and after that, together we will help everyone else."

Zyric looked at him with some suspicion and said, "What? How are you talking like this?" His expression turned slightly strange as he stared at Dr. Wade. "Dr. Wade, from what I have seen of you in interviews, you always seemed like a serious and professional type of person. But now you are addressing me like I was your close friend. I never expected you to be a friendly sort of a lad."

Even so, Zyric eventually picked up a long knife and started cutting the ropes around Dr. Wade. The ropes snapped apart in no time, and Dr. Wade was freed, after which he immediately began checking his hands.

"Okay Dr. Wade, I will go now. There is no time for me to help others. Right now, it is my school time." After saying this, Zyric waved goodbye to Dr. Wade.

But the very next moment Zyric noticed something unexpected. Somebody had suddenly grabbed his collar. Quickly turning around, he saw it was Dr. Wade, holding his collar tightly and pulling him closer.

"Where are you going so soon?" Dr. Wade said. Before Zyric could even process what was happening, the Divine Stone, still in the form of Dr. Wade, moved his hand onto Zyric's shoulder, right where the last piece of his stone was attached.

"I made Wade my temporary host, and now all my strength has been exhausted and I needed a new host, and luckily enough, you came to me at the right time. Even fate itself wants you to become my host. And in front of fate, even the gods cannot do anything. So what harm is there in simply obeying it?" The Divine Stone said, and immediately after that, he burst into loud laughter.

As he laughed, his appearance began to change rapidly. From head to toe, the Divine Stone, who until now had been in the form of Dr. Wade, started transforming into Zyric himself, until at last he was standing there in front of the real Zyric, looking exactly like him.

"Wha… what is this? Who are you? No, I mean what are you?" Zyric said, staring in shock at his duplicate.

"You can call me the Divine Stone. Your sister, Dr. Diana, has named me that. Oh, pardon, almost forgot, you do not want to refer to her as your sister, do you? So, for you, let's just say Dr. Diana."

"And now, because you are my permanent host on Earth, I know everything, your thoughts, your memories, and all that has happened in your life so far. Every single thing is now within my reach. By the by, though, no necessity to worry, I do not want to interfere too much in your personal life. You need not bother your head at that therefore." The Divine Stone said to Zyric.
