Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Truth Unfolds.

My Past Life – Part 15

The cold, rough chains bit into my wrists as I struggled against them, my mind racing to piece together what was happening. The last thing I remembered was walking home from school—now, I was here, wherever here was.

"Jolie!" I shouted, my voice echoing through the empty space. "Where have you taken me? Where am I? And why am I tied up?!" My heart pounded as I yanked at the metal restraints, but they didn't budge.

Jolie sighed, shaking her head as if she were disappointed. "Seriously, I didn't expect you to wake up this early," she muttered, crossing her arms. "Hmm… it seems your body is much stronger than I thought. But it doesn't matter—you're not escaping from those chains."

Her words sent a chill down my spine. I stopped struggling for a moment and took in my surroundings. We were in an abandoned building, far from the school grounds. The place looked like it hadn't been touched in years. Cracks ran along the walls like spiderwebs, and the floor was nothing but bare concrete covered in dust and sand. There were only two doors—one leading in, one leading out—and a single window high up on the wall, its glass long gone.

How is this even possible? I thought. Who is this girl? And what does she want with me?

As I scanned the room, Jolie grabbed a nearby chair, its legs scraping against the floor as she dragged it toward me. She sat down, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees, watching me with an unreadable expression.

Jolie, I know you think I'm working with Joe, but I'm not. I have no part in whatever's going on in your life. But…" She paused, tilting her head slightly. "Unfortunately, I've been told to keep you out of Joe's way. I've been told to keep you safe."

My breath caught in my throat. Safe? From what? From who? None of this made sense.

"Okay, now I'm seriously—absolutely—confused," I snapped, my patience wearing thin. "Like, who the actual fuck are you? And who asked you to keep me safe?" My voice rose, bouncing off the empty walls.

Jolie only smiled, her lips curling in amusement. "You're really cute when you're angry and confused," she said, almost fondly. "And I like that about you… sometimes." She leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. "I'll only answer a few questions now. The rest… you'll understand with time."

I took a deep breath, inhaling sharply before letting it out slowly. My head was spinning, but I needed to stay calm. Alright, I thought. If she's not going to tell me everything now, I'll have to figure it out myself.

Jolie's voice was calm, her eyes filled with concern as she spoke. "Peter, listen to me before it's too late. Stay away from Sarah—for your own safety. And avoid Joe, his traps, and his friends at all costs. Just focus on your studies."

But Peter wasn't satisfied. Anger burned inside him, and he yanked himself forward, closing the distance between them. His voice was sharp, demanding. "Tell me what I need to know, Jolie. Now."

Jolie sighed loudly, shaking her head. "Fine. I'll try my best to protect you, but I won't be responsible for your death."

Peter didn't hesitate. "Not a problem," he said, his body tense with anticipation as he waited for her words.

Jolie took a deep breath before speaking. "Peter, right now, we don't really know who or what Sarah is. But one thing is clear—she's dangerous. And Joe? He's on a revenge mission against you."

Peter frowned. "Revenge? For what?"

Jolie's expression darkened. "For his sister. According to our search, she went mentally insane after… well, you were responsible for that. And now, Joe won't stop until you're dead. He's willing to do anything—even kill anyone who gets in his way."

Peter let out a bitter laugh. "So let me get this straight. Sarah, my girlfriend, is dangerous, but you don't know how or why? And it's not just you—there's a whole group involved now? And Joe wants revenge because, once upon a time, I dated his sister, broke her heart, and drove her to madness?"

Jolie nodded slowly. "Yes."

Peter exhaled sharply. "Hmmm, okay. But I'm not just going to sit around and wait to be killed by some sister-obsessed lunatic. Now, please, free me and let me go back to school."

Jolie smirked. "Peter, have you forgotten something?"

Peter blinked. "What are you talking about? I haven't" Then it hit him. "Oh… shit."

Jolie's smirk widened. "Remember? You said you would do anything."

Peter groaned. "Yeah, I remember. So what do you want?"

Jolie stood up gracefully, her tall, stunning figure impossible to ignore. Her curves were striking—big hips, full breasts, and skin so fair it seemed to glow like the sun. She looked down at him with a playful yet serious expression.

"I want to be your second girlfriend."

Peter hesitated for only a second before shrugging. "Hmm, alright. I accept. Now, release me—I'm tired of being chained up here."

Jolie smiled. "Okay."

As Jolie worked on loosening the chains around Peter's wrists, a sudden sound broke the silence.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

A rough voice echoed through the room. "Well, well, well… what do we have here, boys? A little boy and a beautiful, beautiful girl. We may have failed our mission, but at least we can enjoy this fine piece of meat."

Laughter erupted from the shadows—deep, menacing chuckles. "Yeahhhhh!" the thugs cheered.
