As the dust settled from the fierce battle, we held our breath, eyes scanning the horizon, anticipating the arrival of another wave of beasts. But silence reigned. This time, we faced a ferocious pack of sand hyenas, an intimidating force numbering around fifty masses of snarling teeth.
Jamila walked up beside me followed closely by Halima.
"Are we going to salvage these shattered cores, Lady Mia?" Jamila asked.
I looked around at the sparkling light yellow gems before I replied.
"Yes, we will collect them, have the women move around and pick them up"
