"Ah!" Halima exclaimed as she thrusted her spear.
I twisted to the left slightly to dodge her momentum before knocking my blade against the shaft of her weapon. The clash sent a sharp vibration up my arm, which I was slowly getting used to.
The jolt was enough to loosen her grip just a little, causing her hold on the spear to falter. It was just the opening I needed. With a swift kick, I tripped her as she passed, forcing her to stumble.
By the time she flipped around, I was already standing over her, my blade poised just inches from her face.
There was an almost wild intensity in her eyes as she stared up at me, yet instead of anger, her lips curved into a grin.
We had been fighting for over an hour now, and still she carried that fiery determination, an insatiable appetite for battle.
"Truly the person worthy of being my leader! Thank you, Tua Miasha!" she declared, pulling her spear upright again before thumping its blunt end against the ground.
