"What will I do there?" May twisted the blanket in her hands.
"Sweetie, there are loads of things you can do. Get a job. The money there is just as green as it is here." She gave May's thigh a playful pat. "We are not exactly some backward village, you know. The werewolf cities have banks, universities, theaters."
"I guess I didn't think of it like that."
"Or… is there another reason you don't want to go there?"
Heat crawled up May's neck. She couldn't meet Nelly's gaze, but she nodded.
"Kade?"
"I…" May dragged in a shaky breath. "I cannot deal with him."
Nelly let out a throaty chuckle. "That's not the same as not wanting him." She arched a brow. "So, do you want to?"
"I don't know." May shrugged.
