Ava gave a knowing smile. Her eyes glimmered as she leaned closer to May. "Oh, May. You can't stay away from Kade any more than he can stay away from you. You both are still going to drift back together, whether you like it or not."
May blinked rapidly, heat crawling up her neck. She shook her head stubbornly. "Why do you say so?"
Ava's grin widened. "Because…"
"Luna Ava?"
May's stomach dropped at the sound of him. Her head wanted to turn toward him, her eyes wanted to drink him in, but pride forced her gaze elsewhere. She stared intently at the garden roses.
Kade stepped into view, dressed in a fitted black shirt that clung to his skin. His eyes flicked to May in a glance so brief it burned, then shifted to Ava. "You summoned me."
Ava wasted no time. "Where is your bank card?" she asked casually, extending her hand.
Kade arched a brow. "Excuse me?"
Ava pursed her lips, tapping her palm expectantly. "Your bank card. Hand it over." She wiggled her fingers impatiently.
