Chapter 144: Ivy
In the arena, the signal for the start of the competition had begun.
Seraph, holding his staff, headed toward the nearest beam of white light in the sky.
Seraph stopped in his tracks when he saw a fireball as large as himself.
Flying towards him, he was met with heat.
A root from the Kisen staff, as large as Seraph's arm, struck the fireball. Pew!

A bright, colorful light lit up the air.
A man emerged from the tree.
"I'm not weak. I understand, little one. Hand over the bracelet. You'll get hurt, won't you?"
The man, twenty years old, had short red hair and brown clothes. His name was Linai.
"Come in. Any further discussion is a waste of time."
Linai used his second skill, {Fireball}. A red fireball appeared. The fireball was as big as half a tree.
"You made the choice, don't regret it later, kid."
The fireball shot towards Seraph. Pewwww!
Seraph shot into the sky. Whoosh!
Seraph dodged the fireball.
The fireball chased Seraph, changing direction. He was chasing Seraph. Pewwww!
Seraph, underground, roots shot up towards Seraph's feet. Pewwww! Boom!
Seraph used his feet to step on the roots. The roots created a platform for Seraph to step on. Pewwww!
Seraph charged at Linai. Pewwww!
Linai followed Seraph's gaze and fired a fireball at Seraph. Pewwww!
Seraph stared blankly as four fireballs appeared in front of him.
A staff root protruded from the Kisen staff, destroying the four fireballs. Boom!
Roots attack Linai. Fuuuuuuu!
Linay dodged. Fuuuuuuu! Boom!
A red fireball shot towards Seraph's side. Pewwww!
Seraph swung the roots of his Kisen staff, slashing them towards the fireball. Fuuuuu! Boom!
Seraph landed on the ground, his right hand swinging the Kisen staff, attacking towards him. Fuuuuu!
Linay formed a fireball on her hand, punched Seraph with her right fist towards Seraph, stopping the staff. Fuuuuu!
Boom!
The force of the collision caused the ground to split apart, and the leaves on the ground caught fire.
A large fireball flew towards Seraph's back.
Heat was immediately felt coming from behind.
Seraph used the roots underground to launch himself into the sky. Boom! Pewwww!
A fireball shot towards Linai.
Linay saw that Seraph had dodged. And soon, it would be his turn.
Linai dissipated the fireball's energy. Boom!
The fireball in front of Linai dissipated.
Revealing gray roots, thrust from the fireball. Pew!
Linai dodged it. Whoosh!
BOOM!
Linai looked up to see Seraph floating in mid-air.
"This is the one who qualified for the competition? With such skill, he deserves it. He's not that weak. I thought he was a child, so I thought he was weak."
Seraph looked down and saw Linai dodging the roots. "What should we do, Kisen-senpai? This enemy is very strong?"
"This enemy is weak. His energy has already accumulated to the level I need. I'll borrow your help." Controlling your body, ordering you to dodge is difficult.
"Understood." Seraph looked at Kisen's staff.
Roots from Kisen's staff stretched out, covering Seraph's body like vines binding his body.

A blue beam the size of Seraph's fist destroyed the fireball with a greater amount of spiritual energy than Linai's. Boom!
The fireball exploded with a terrifying explosion.
Linay dodged. Whoosh! Boom!
The beam of light struck the ground and dissipated, replaced by roots.
Seraph used roots, this being his platform, to run towards Linay. Pew!
Linay fired five fireballs. Pew! Pew! Pew!
Seraph swung roots from Kisen's staff, swinging them back and forth. Boom!
Vines spun around Seraph, forcing Seraph to follow the roots.
Seraph landed on the ground. Boom!
Seraph's roots extended out and attacked Linay, who was running away. Pew!
Linay threw a punch, empowering the fireballs, and attacked the roots. Boom!
The roots were completely burned.
Kisen complained to Seraph, irritated, "Tch! I'm weak against fire, too." But don't worry, junior. I won!
The roots beneath Linai's feet shot up and stabbed her under Linai's stomach. Boom!
Ugh! "Bastard! No sound!? I didn't hear a thing!"
Linai pulled out the surrender sign with lightning speed. A white light carried Linai away in a flash.
The white bracelet was caught by the roots, which threw it towards Seraph. Whoosh!
Seraph took the bracelet and held it. "Excellent, senior!"
Seraph watched as the vines disappeared from around Seraph.
Seraph took two bracelets and slammed them together. Bang!
The white light carried Seraph away from the competition and into the waiting room for the next competition.
Seraph warped into an empty room, where five people were sitting, waiting for the next competition.
Seraph walked towards a seat. Seeing Richard sitting on a chair,
Richard looked at Seraph and smiled. "Looks like he's really skilled."
Seraph closed his eyes, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone else. [There are so many skilled people. That fight just now, I'm dead for sure. Has this world gone crazy? This isn't even a member of the academy, but someone who wants to take the exam.
