Chapter 143: The Test Begins
Seraph stands on a rock, holding the Kisen staff. "Senior, what do you think? I'm not that capable."
Kisen confidently telepathically tells Seraph, "Don't worry, little brother Seraph. I've obtained the power from the source to help you. Look closely, this is the skill to strengthen your legs. I used it during the test.
I used my own roots to replace the blood vessels in your arms. This time, I'll use both legs. You'll gain increased mobility. Let's begin."
Roots began to cover Seraph's veins in both legs. The veins were replaced by gray roots. The roots spread out, increasing Seraph's jumping power by several times.
"Try this, little brother. This is a leg enhancement."
Seraph looked at his feet as if nothing had happened. [I didn't feel anything. Are you lying? Try jumping. If you fail, it's not my fault.]
Seraph stared at the rock in front of him, floating on the muddy river.
Seraph jumped lightly. Whoosh!
Seraph was shocked by the strength of his jump. Whoosh! Boom!
Seraph jumped into the mud pit. Seraph tried to get out of the mud pit, standing on a rock.
"That's amazing! This is amazing!"
Seraph praised, even though his lower half was buried in the mud.
"Good job, junior. Go for it! Senior Kisen will support you!"
Seraph moved his feet back and forth, dashing along the rocks at high speed. Whoosh!
Seraph ran fast. Every time his foot hit a rock, Seraph sped away.
Hence, it didn't take long for Seraph to catch up with the main group.
Seraph saw a number of people jumping and sprinting over the rocks.
Seraph sprinted over the rocks and charged forward, leaping over the heads of the interns at incredible speed.
A shout came from behind Seraph, "Hey! Look at that kid!" He's already passed us!"
"Bana! I didn't see anyone behind him just now!"
"What kind of family is that kid from?!"
"Look at that speed!"
"You little brat! Stop right now or you're dead!"
Seraph's threatening voice began to shout.
"You little brat! Stop right now!"
"You son of a bitch! Do you want to die so badly!"
"I told you to stop!"
"When I see you, I'll beat you to death!"
Seraph ran across, ignoring the shouts. Time began to pass. Seraph overtook the crowd at a speed he couldn't keep up with.
Seraph jumped up and saw a sign with a number. There was one more person left to compete.
Seraph immediately saw the panicked message, [Oh, shit! Only one left. There's a young man up ahead!]
The a1 teen turned to look at Seraph, who was speeding.
The a1 teen sped up, hoping Seraph would catch up.
With only one round left to pass the test,
the distance between Seraph and the A1 youth was not far.
Kisen's voice beckoned Seraph, "Seraph, kick me forward! Hurry!"
Seraph swung his foot forward, and the Kisen staff was hit by the kick. Seraph was sent flying forward. Pew!
The Kisen staff flew with the force of the kick, piercing the A1 youth's back. Smack!
A loud thud!?
The man in front of him looked shocked, staring at the Kisen staff.
His expression indicated that if he had the chance, he would Sure enough!
Seraph crossed the finish line, becoming the last person in the round. The race ended, and the staff had roots clinging to Seraph's arm. It flew back to rest easily in Seraph's hand.
Richard smiled. "This kid, you thought he was weak. He's good. He's done well. He's done well enough."
Seraph stood on the ground, under the watchful eyes of hundreds of people. The final contestant arrived.
Seraph stood still, walking to the wall.
As time passed, the finalists waited for their turn.
Richard allowed them a break until the required time was up.
"It's time for the next round. From now on, we'll reduce the number of contestants to fifty. The rules are: 100 bracelets will be given to each contestant, with one given to each person.
Whoever can collect two bracelets will be declared the winner.
The rules still prohibit killing each other. And you can surrender if you wish. We have surrender signs available. The competition lasts one day. As long as fifty people make it to the next round, the competition will be over, or time will run out. Your positions will be randomly selected to ensure fairness.
Then, take the sky bracelet and the surrender sign. These are the two items you must carry with you.
Seraph looked up at the sky. A white surrender sign and a white bracelet floated down and stopped in front of Seraph.
Seraph put on the bracelet and attached the sign.
Richard continued, "Now that you have the bracelet and sign, now's the competition rules. The bracelets will be displayed every hour, indicating where the bracelets are.
To use the bracelets, you collide two bracelets with each other. If you do so, you'll be warped out of the competition and declared the winner. As for the surrender sign, when you remove it, a barrier will form around you, taking you away from the competition. And disqualified.
Seraph thought. "Senior Kisen, let me tell you something. I'm a weakling in battle, aren't I?"
Kisen spoke up. "Don't worry, junior. I'm strong. I'll help you out. The contestants here aren't even remotely in my sight."
Richard looked at the one hundred contestants and began pulling out their magical items. They appeared in the shape of mountains.
It was a green mountain, and on the ground was a river.
Richard infused his spirit energy into the mountain. In no time, the entire room transformed with hypnotic speed.
Seraph stood still and appeared by the river. It was full of trees.
The surroundings were natural. No living creatures. From here, a green mountain could be seen.
Seraph was extremely shocked by this display. [Amazing! In just a short time, something like this was created.]
Seraph looked up at the mountain.
A countdown began to appear, starting the race. This time was morning.
The race counted:
Three!
Two!
One!
Start!
The time displayed on the mountain was the clock.
24:00
A white Seraph bracelet shone through the sky, soaring into the sky as numerous white beams of light flew up.
The Seraph could only think because there were so many beams of white light.
"The white light in the sky means that's the position, right?"
"That's right, junior. Go ahead. It's time to take first place in the race."
"Understood."
Seraph walked with his Kisen staff, his expression calm. [Sigh... We have to find a way out of this one. But first, we have to pass this round. Otherwise, if we lose, we'll lose. I bet you... This one will stick harder than glue, for sure.]
