Chapter 145: One Apple
In the village of Fynren at night, Seraph walks down the street. Many people are walking around.
Even though it's nighttime, people are still happily browsing.
Seraph looks around. The sound of children playing in the night is everywhere.
Seraph asks Kisen, starting to get hungry. "Senior, where should we go for food? I've been fasting for days. My body can't take it anymore?"
Seraph speaks sincerely. Since being in the cave, he hasn't even had a bite of food yet.
Kisen says, "Oh, really? I completely forgot. I'm using the Spirit Energy around me. I don't have any problems with food. I'll just steal some fruit from those merchants. What do you want?"
Seraph looks around. There's plenty of food. "Then, I'll take that apple. Just one will do."
[I don't care. After fasting for so many days, I'm considered to have survived. That's amazing. I thought it was in the sect. There's going to be a feast! Thief, thief! I've stolen gold coins before. Just fruit, no problem!]
Seraph supports stealing food from fruit vendors.
Kisen looks at the fruit stall at night.
A young woman sits with her chin on her hand, selling fruit with a sullen expression, as if frustrated because she hasn't sold anything.
It's a woman with shoulder-length black hair and a beautiful face. Her name is Nata, and she's thirty-two years old.
Kisen starts to act as the woman walks around the street lit by the streetlights.
Kisen's roots take advantage of the almost invisible opportunity to grab a red apple and pull it back with lightning speed. Whoosh!
The apple floats down and lands in Seraph's hand. Thud!
Seraph looks at the fresh red fruit and weeps, hoping to finally start eating. [Finally, I'll get to eat. Things will be easier if I can get rid of Kisen and use the magical items in the system to exchange for money. But he was wrong. This guy is following me like crazy. And his skill is very wicked.]
Seraph opened his mouth, preparing to eat the bright red apple.
The sound of someone's hand grabbing Seraph's arm was the hand of a young woman.
Seraph looked at the person standing in front of him. It was a beautiful woman.
[Who else could it be? Nothing went as planned. It started even back then, after receiving the Spirit Stone.]
"What's the matter, big sister? Do you need help?"
The woman in front of Seraph was Nata, the owner of the fruit shop.
"You're quite fast, little girl. If I hadn't been the one guarding the shop for my grandmother here, you would have succeeded in stealing it."
Seraph remained calm amidst the people passing by.
He paid no attention to the two people's conversation, not even the slightest bit of foot traffic.
"Don't accuse me. I have no evidence. It's strange. I found this apple lying on the ground. I was hungry and had been starving for so long. I had to pick it up and eat it. Don't make random accusations.
Seraph uses his conversational skill. [So, what do you want to do now, little girl? My life experience tells me this. A single apple, and a child like me, only picked it up from the ground because someone messed with it. Plus, finding the owner is impossible.]
Nata smiled mischievously. "Interesting, little one. Then, do you want to be beaten to death here? I was just looking for an outlet for my anger. I'm thrilled to meet a cute kid like you."
Nata threatened Seraph and began squeezing Seraph's arm to intimidate him.
Seraph's arm was turning redder.
Kisen told Seraph, "This is bad luck. This junior is very strong. But it's okay. I'll take care of this guy myself."
Seraph looked at Kisen's staff. "No, I've had enough trouble. If I act any more prominently, I'll die before I can go home."
Seraph spoke up. "Can you please let go of my hand?"
Seraph begged Nata, who had been squeezing his arm.
Nata smiled, secretly letting go, seeing that Seraph was about to do something.
"Sure, kid. What's the matter? Have you found a solution?"
Nata looked at Seraph's expressionless face.
Kisen spoke to Seraph. "What are you going to do, little bro!?"
Even Kisen didn't know what Seraph was going to do.
Nata quickly analyzed and anticipated all the possibilities. [The kid in front of me has a high apple-stealing speed. No, not from the start. If he had such a skill, why would he dare steal an apple? His goal was to pull me away from the fruit stand? To keep me safe. What was this kid up to? Or was it Grandma!?]
Nata ran away, leaving Seraph looking down at the ground. Thud.
Seraph knelt down and lightly slammed his forehead against the ground.
Seraph's voice spoke up, "Sorry. I just needed food, so I won't do it again."
Seraph knelt down to apologize, but unfortunately, Nata ran off to check out his fruit shop to see if anything seemed out of place.
A child's voice spoke up when Seraph knelt down. "Mom, Mom, look, what's that kid doing?"
The child's mother looked at the kneeling Seraph. "He's just a beggar, you know. Don't worry about it. These people's lives are so boring that they come to beg for money."
The child's mother walked over and placed a gold coin on the ground in front of Seraph.
The child's mother took her child to look around the shop.
The child asked, "Didn't you say you shouldn't pay attention to beggars?" "
The boy looked puzzled, demanding an answer from his mother.
The mother smiled at her son. "That child is still young. Seeing such a pitiful child, she helped him a little. That's all. Since he's still young, he needs others to guide him. He tries to do good deeds in hopes of getting something in return. What will happen in the future?"
The mother and son disappeared from Seraph's sight.
Seraph, who had his head bowed, pondered in confusion. "Is this really that effective? But why did he give him a single red gold coin and then leave?"
Seraph didn't know that the person who gave the red gold coin was the mother and son, assuming Nata was the one who gave it.
Kisen's voice still rang in Seraph's head. "Junior, that woman is gone. What's next? What method did you use to chase her away? I don't understand at all."
"Bowing your head in apology, showing your own pitifulness to the other party, is what saved us. Bowing your head is another way to survive." From my own life experience, "
"I don't understand at all. You're willing to kill yourself to survive? Where's your pride? "
"Never mind that. Earning a single gold coin can buy something."
Seraph stood up and walked forward. [Surviving such a dangerous situation, he must be a very kind-hearted person. If I have the chance, I'll definitely repay that woman. The apple and the gold coin. Even though they're worth very little, I appreciate it. I'll never forget this favor. I don't like being indebted to anyone.]
And for this reason, Seraph decided that if there was anything he could do to help Nata, he would do it to repay her.
Kisen kept talking, telling Seraph about his pride.
