Chapter 9
Zara
"What way?' I asked him even more as he tried to stay silent. He was more bruised than I thought so I tried to go closer to his sell by use he was prepared to whisper.
Instead, he breathed down, walking to the angle of the cell that was made of wood. He removed the log of wood that covered the hole at side of the wall
I wondered if we were on top of the water. It seemed the dungeon was built on water. This only meant that the dungeons were far from where the Alpha stayed. Which only means that we could be forgotten here. Be left to die.
It frustrated me more knowing that we might be going to be here for a longer time.
"You want to know why I asked if you have a weak wolf?" I nodded. "Because if you do not have a weak wolf, we could both join our powers together And break out of here. There is an iron pavement that is bound. If we both join our powers we can actually get out of here."
"Yes, I am in." I didn't care, I just wanted to be out of here as soon as possible.
"Are you sure?" I replied that I was. Deep down, I didn't want to find out yet if I had a weak wolf to carry out these tasks. I knew I was willing to try if given the opportunity. I wanted to seize this opportunity myself and find out what was on the other side of these dungeons.fit the first time, I kept wondering the steps I was going to take when I had escaped.
We started brainstorming ideas in the route of the dungeons. "There is no way that we would escape if there were guards watching the door outside. Because isn't this place surrounded by water?" Confusion was evident in my voice
"I think it's part of the spell. The dungeons might be behind the Alpha's fortress but you wouldn't know because an illusion spell had been used. So if we are out we take through the field and into the woods. If the pattern is still the same from the time I was captured then, trust me we would be able to find a way out of this. I know a way we can pass through the borders undetected." He told me.
I nodded. For a moment, I thought of the plan very well. Where would I go if I was free from this hell hole? That was the question that kept echoing in my head not knowing how to reply. Everything I ever knew was blown to bits and my family was murdered.
I breathed.
"What are you thinking?" He asked me.
I smiled. "Nothing to worry yourself about."
Night came as quickly as expected. I couldn't blink my eyes, no matter how tired I was. I wanted the time to come as quickly as possible so we would get out of here.
"It's time." Harry got up and threw me a pin to unlock the gate to my last cell and I got out, opening his. I stared at the wall a little bit closer. It was a very big wall but the vertical rods were strong and I could feel the spell that was used on it. We quickly made sure there wasn't any guards coming for us,
He made sure that we were locked in so we wouldn't get caught.
"Ready?" He asked, I gave him the signal that I was. We started pulling the rod but it was fixed in its place. Each time I tried to pull, it was like we were being bounced off by some unknown energy. It was so great that I had used all of my strength, joining with his, trying to pull the rods out of its place.
"I thought you said you have a strong wolf."
"I do but with the little progress we made, I am beginning to rethink that. Maybe I don't really know myself at all."
He chuckled. "We need to be fast. Any moment from now, the guards would show up any minute.
After an hour of trying, we finally succeeded, we threw the rod, which rattled. We finally got out, and the sea that we saw first wasn't far off. I could see the woods on the other side of the sea. The air around me was soothing as I dipped my feet into the quicksand. The dungeons were built on an island and I could tell that the pack wasn't far off.
"Where do we go from here?" He pointed backwards and he coughed slightly as the air, blinded his vision briefly.
"That place is pointing to Alpha Xavier's pack. But the woods after the sea is the direction to the borders."
I already knew where we were going but still my questions were loud in my thoughts. "Who is Alpha Xavier?"
"The monster that put you in there."
"Oh, I think we are going to the borders then." I paused on my tracks while he asked way ahead of me. I tried to pace my breathing and my heart beat.
"Why are you still standing there?"
"I have a phobia for water. I cannot swim and this sea doesn't look like it is shallow. I am going to drown."
He smiled, stretching his hands. "No you are not going to drown." I was reluctant to listen to him but I had to. There wasn't any time for such. I saw the expansive sea and I knew the time I had almost drowned just because I couldn't swim. I racked my brain in finding a path and a route that doesn't involve drowning or passing through the sea.
"I don't think I can do this."
"We might be able to get to the other side without us being caught. We do not have the luxury of time."
As soon as we entered the water, I tried to stay afloat but something kept pulling.
I fought, Harry was nowhere to be found as I struggled to breathe without drowning.
