Nevertheless, they try with all their might to get ashore.

MECNUN

"How long are you going to let yourself be used!?

"Don't you have any self-respect!?

''Look how far you've come from prioritizing others!''

"Put yourself first for once!

These are the only things I hear from my friends scolding me right now. Everything else sounded as if the pause button had been pressed forever. I couldn't say anything to these words other than "You're right." I couldn't understand why I was behaving like this. Wherever someone asked me for help, I ran to them without question, I cared more about other people's feelings than my own. I didn't care much about people's opinions, but I didn't want to break anyone's heart. I don't know how things ended up like this. I don't remember how I became like this. Was I cursed? Or did I do something somewhere on the line.

I decided to leave the café, after all, I couldn't listen to the same things over and over again.

"I have to get up now, I have an early class tomorrow. See you guys!"

From the moment I walked out of the door of the shop, I started thinking.

''I'd better clear my head a bit''

So I decided to walk home, not take the fast train as usual. The night was warm. I would say neither cold nor hot. My thin jacket was swaying in the breeze. The streets were pleasantly quiet. As I was walking, I suddenly turned onto the main road, there was not much traffic. The road felt like, it came straight up from a movie, it was not only dark but only here and then a car passed. Usually even in this hour, this road is busy.

I took a deep breath, the words of my friends were still in my mind, I knew I had to fix this part of myself. I thought this a lot while I was walking, I must have been lost in thoughts when suddenly I was startled by a pain in my heart. I immediately tried to press my chest with my hand, it felt like as if a dagger was stuck in my chest. I heard like someone shouting, the only thing I felt was the pain in my heart after I lost al my senses. But before I realized what was happening, everything was dark, for a moment I thought I was dead, I wonder if things have ended. I wonder if I have to fix things again. Now, everything became dark, silent, nothing became everything for a second.

But I heard someone's voice.

"Can you hear me?

The voice sounded quite familiar. I couldn't understand why.

"Can you hear me?"

It repeated.

"Can you hear me?"

I tried to focus on the voice. As I tried to focus on the voice, a light seemed to appear.

I tried to say, "Y-yes," but..

"Anyway, my name is ----------." "---- you."

I couldn't understand some of the words because of a sound like the wind. I turned my head in the direction of the sound and started looking for the voice.

I saw a silhouette.

''What did you say?" I shouted, "I can't hear!

''You can't hear? I understand... These must be the conditions he's talking about.''

"I don't understand what you're talking about."

"You don't have to understand. Forget it, after all, one day you will hear my name and see this world and my real shape in all its reality.''

"What do you mean? Who are you? What is this world? What in the actual.."

I couldn't understand. It was as if everything was just a dream that I would forget when I woke up in the next morning.

''Now you will need a new name, and with that name you will reach the clear truth. A long journey awaits you. Farewell for now!" and disappeared. What I heard frightened me, it did not comfort me at all. When the mysterious spirit disappeared, I was left alone with only the darkness. Everything became even more chilling. I wanted to wake up from this bad dream immediately. My heart was beating with a high intensity as if it was hitting me. I tried to breathe but I couldn't. It felt like I was trapped in space. I started to think that I was dead and that this was the end. Then my heart stopped beating and there was a thud, as if a cannon had been fired. At that moment, my consciousness was plunged into darkness.

And right after something was shining.

Suddenly, I opened my eyes, panting and in a cold sweat, and was confronted by a ceiling I didn't recognize.

"The young master is finally awake!" came from a woman's voice.

I looked around. I was in a bed. I sat up quickly. A woman dressed in a maid's dress, with long brown hair in a bun, was looking at me with her hands over her mouth, looking puzzled. Suddenly I couldn't understand what had happened. Judging by the light coming in through the window, it was early in the morning. The room had red walls and I saw a desk, two cupboards, three bookshelves and a mirror.

Before I knew what was happening, three people burst through the door, looking worried. They were a couple who looked middle-aged and a young maid. The male of the couple had medium-length red hair combed parted down the middle, a blue suit, aqua green eyes and a red handkerchief in his jacket pocket. The woman wore a light turquoise one-piece dress and looked at me with mixed feelings of excitement and anxiety, with navy blue hair and blue eyes. And the young maid...

Wait a minute what!... The maid had short brown hair and on top of her hair she had cat ears. I was really puzzled and curiously fixated on the ears, which were surprisingly cute. Their brown, sweet, round eyes looked at me as if they were robots.

The couple rushed over and sat down on my bed. Both the man and the woman held my hand tightly.

"You're finally awake, my son," the woman cried."

Seeing her in this state, her husband couldn't hold himself back and started crying too.

''We missed you so much, my son,'' he said."

They continued to cry for a while until they came to their senses. I couldn't digest what I was going through and I stood frozen in front of what was happening. Then the woman turned to me and said;

He said, "Gilbert."

Suddenly I came to my senses and jumped out of bed.

"Gilbert!" she yelled after me.

I went to the mirror and what did I see? I couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately put my hand to my cheek in astonishment. I had long dark blue and soft hair and round aqua green eyes. I approached the mirror for a moment. I looked like a college student now. I froze in front of the mirror trying to digest the event. It was as if that college boy with black hair and blue eyes had suddenly disappeared. I couldn't understand if I woke up from a dream or if I was dreaming. The woman suddenly came and hugged me.

She said, "What happened, my precious Gilbert?"

I couldn't say a word. At first I tried to understand what had happened. For a long time I was just lost in thought. Where was this place? Who am I? Who was the person I saw in the mirror before? And my home? Was this my home? Then what happened to my previous home? Did something happen to me? Who were these people? And one question after another raced through my brain like cars passing on a busy highway. I took a deep breath and looked in the mirror again, trying to piece together what was going on in my head. I think this man and woman were my parents, and this was my room. It was obviously something important. For some reason they were speaking in a language that was not my mother tongue and somehow I could understand both of them. It was as if I had been reborn in another country.

I said, "Mom, Dad."

They both hugged me tightly.

"Come on, son, let's have breakfast," my father said, taking me by the hand and leading me away.

As I walked through the house, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the house. It was like a mansion, but it wasn't that big. I would say it looked like a medium-sized house. The only thing that caught my attention while going down the curved wooden staircase was that there was at least one bookshelf in every living room, in every room. Of course, I couldn't help but notice what was written in some of the books. There were books on the origin of Magia, Magia energy and its Propagation, Machinery and Automation. Wait a minute, Magia? What did Magia mean? They were obviously an aristocratic family. Who knows how many years of knowledge were hidden in this house. In any case, I needed to learn more about what was happening around me and who I was. Was what I experienced yesterday real? Or was what I am experiencing now a dream? I might be in a coma and dreaming things. Questions were swirling in my head all the time. Then we reached the kitchen.

"I'm going to make your favorite dish, darling," she said.

Then my father sat me in a chair at the dining table. Across from me was a child's chair. When I was thinking about the possibility of having a brother.

"It's from when you were a baby. You used to sit there all the time," my father pointed to the chair. I looked around and caught a few photos, and there was no other child besides me in the photos with my parents."

I guess whatever happened to me must have made a big impression on them. It was only natural that I got some idea of their situation and their lives. I gathered all my courage and asked them what had happened to me.

''What happened to me? I don't remember anything?"

As soon as the words left my mouth, my mother started to choke on her tears.

My father looked at her and then back at me.

"You have magia inefficiency," he said in a sad voice.

I could tell he was trying hard not to cry. But what was she talking about? As soon as I heard it, I was surprised and curious. What is this thing called Magia? Is it magic? But magic is fictional, and did I contract a disease involving it? With each answer I received, the questions in my head continued to increase.

"What does that mean?"

I was curious.

''You awakened your Magia power. When we realized this, your mother and I were ecstatic at first. Because neither of us had any magic users in our family. For us it was a one in a million chance, nothing short of a miracle.''

Magia power? Amazing things kept happening.

''And then what happened?''

My father sighed heavily, as if those moments had left a huge scar on his life.

''Because there were no Magia user genes in our family before, your body couldn't withstand the magic power coming from within. You fainted and were in a coma for years.''

''How long have I been in a coma?"

''Exactly 7 years. You had just turned 8 years old when this happened. As fate would have it, today was your birthday.''

I immediately looked at the calendar, the month was ''1st month of Spring'', the day was ''18th day'' and the year was ''1720''. There were many similarities with my other life. Is it life now? Or a dream I had in a coma, I don't know.

''Doctors told me that recovery from this disease depends on the speed at which the human body adapts to magia, and that there are patients who never wake up or recover in a short time. But the number of patients who never woke up was quite high. This was very frightening for us. Your mother fell to her knees when she heard this. We poured money into medicine and doctors as much as we could. Our only wish in the world was to see your beautiful face again. Thank God it came true.''

My father started to get sad towards the end of the conversation. I thought it would be better to close this subject now.

''I'm here now and I'm as fit as a fiddle. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere again.''

They immediately came to me and hugged me.

"We love you, honey!"

Then my mother went to the counter. For a moment I didn't understand why she had to work with so many servants, but I think she wanted to prepare something for me with her own hands. It must have been a mother's instinct. What a sweet woman she was. She must have missed my voice and my eyes all these years.

I put my hand to my chest and tried to focus on it. It reminded me of what the Chinese call "Chi" energy, as if the way it works is similar. It also reminded me of the magic in the fantasy-themed books I read in my old world. It was as if this power was inside me, looking for a way to grow stronger and get out of me. My father was thinking.

''While your body is ready for magic. Let's hire a special teacher for you! What do you think?"

My mother said in a slightly angry tone.

''Honey, He just opened his eyes. Let him enjoy it for a while. What's the hurry! Why don't you give the child some space?

"Don't say that, darling, he needs to learn to control his Magia energy. What if he hurts herself? What if he falls back into a coma because he can't control the energy?

You know what happens to people who can't control their Magia powers.''

If my father is talking so seriously, it must be a troublesome occuring of events. And it doesn't look like it can do any harm. I should at least admit it.

''Sure, but I want the best magic teacher in town,'' I said in a sassy tone.

''Don't worry, your father will get you the best magic teacher in the country.
