Chapter 7 - RIVALRY

"So, Mom! What happened next?!" her daughter yelled. Aurora sighed. She wanted to stop and maybe watch a movie.

"Just wait until tomorrow, okay?" Aurora said, trying to calm her daughter down as she jumped around.

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssseeee!!!!" her daughter insisted. She won't calm down until her mother tells her.

"Honey! Please come and play with your daughter!" Aurora yelled, calling her husband to come.

Elliot came into the room, and he had a smirk on his face. He sat down next to his daughter, and then they both began to chant.

"Story! Story! Story! Story! Story! Story! Story! Story!" both Elliot and their daughter chanted as Aurora grew more annoyed and their daughter grew tirelessly.

"Just stop… I said stop! Okay, fine!" Aurora gave in; she then giggled… happiness creeping into her.

"So… What happened next is…"

I stared at Elliot's confused and innocent face… Why was I avoiding him? I had no idea…

I tried to talk, but I had nothing to say; all that came out was "uh" or "uhm".

"I know that you're way out of my league, but… I want to love you…" He admitted once again. WHY?! WHY IS HE SO HONEST?!?

"I think you should… give me some time…" I said, my thoughts racing like some kind of office in an emergency meeting. "BUT DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP!!"

I could feel the blood running around frantically, making my face blush…

"I… Understand" he mumbled "So… can we just be friends while you think about it?"

I hesitantly nodded. Deep down, I despised this nerd, the way he outshines me in grades… I hated it, but part of me said the opposite…

This guy's more truthful than anyone did to you… This guy CARES AND LOVES you more than your parents ever did… He's more helpful than ANY teacher in this school…

Those were my thoughts as I stared at him, but then lifted his hand and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, and that snapped me out, making me realize that I've been staring too much…

My face immediately heated up once again, but I took a deep breath, controlling my emotions.

"Sorry for staring… I was just surprised by your honesty," I admitted, "But don't expect any feelings from me!"

He shyly smiled, his smiling face was cute… then the librarian walked up to me and ordered me to leave since I was yelling a lot.

I left the library, Elliot following me, but there was some distance between us.

But then, Bryan walked up to me once again, but instead of harassing… He kneeled…

"My queen, may your heart be held captive by my nobleness." His tone contained some sort of tone that made him seem sickeningly elegant.

"Ew…" I replied, just that two-letter word made his face scowl, then Elliot walked closer and asked me.

"Who is this?" He asked, but Bryan glared at Elliot.

"Well, I am the person who is meant to be with Miss Aurora!" Bryan yelled, thinking that his "noble" tone would give him an advantage in dating me.

"Stop acting like some knight in the 15th century," I grumbled.

"Aurora, this guy looks… I just hate him." Elliot said as he stared at Bryan, the jealousy seeping into him, the more he stared.

"Well… NERD! I don't like you either, but we both know that I am the superior one." Bryan boasted.

Didn't this jerk learn his lesson last time he tried harassing me?!

"No matter how much you try! I am not interested!" I yelled at Bryan, and his face got more wrinkled as he scowled.

"So you'd rather a pathetic nerd over a strong REAL man!?" He scowled; his glare was digging into Elliot's brain.

"Sure, you can say that… Anything to get you off of me." I sighed. This jerk is an idiot.

"Then let's fight NERD!" Bryan yelled as he pointed at Elliot.

Both Elliot and I stared at Bryan. I was looking for any sign that he was joking, didn't find any… Oh… no…

Elliot tried to back down by walking backwards, but Bryan held him by the shoulder and pulled him.

"Where do you think you're going?" Bryan glared at Elliot, and he squeezed his hand around Elliot's shoulder.

Elliot let out a gasp, his face twisted as his shoulder got crushed by Bryan's hand.

I stared, part of me wanted to stop it, and another part wanted to just ignore and walk away.

Bryan punched Elliot in the stomach, and Elliot immediately put his arms around his stomach, the air flying out of his mouth.

"Weak," Bryan mumbled. Then he pushed Elliot, and Elliot stumbled and fell. Bryan walked to Elliot and stopped at his chest, and was about to stomp.

"No!" I yelled as I ran to Bryan and kicked his other leg, causing him to trip. He fell sideways, lying on the ground as he tried to get up once again.

But I didn't let him… I stomped his crotch… Bryan clutched his crotch, groaning loudly in pain.

I felt satisfied, calm once again, proud, I had protected someone who loved me…

I looked at Elliot, who got up… The stumble caused a crack in his glasses. He took off his glasses and rubbed the glass on his shirt before wearing them again.

"Thank you…" He mumbled, looking away in embarrassment…

I nodded… CUTE!
