Aurora sat up, panicking… looking around, she was in her room. The light shining in from the window.
She looked to the side and saw Elliot sleeping peacefully. She put her hand on his cheek and softly kissed his forehead.
She calmed down, remembering that it was a nightmare… Or a memory…
It was a school day so she had to wake up her daughter and get ready for work.
She looked at the alarm, it read: 6:30 AM. She had enough time.
She removed the blanket and pulled her legs to the edge of the bed, then she pushed herself off it.
She raised her hands upwards, ruffling her hair while stretching, she yawned before walking to the bathroom and taking a shower and brushing her teeth and all.
After she wore her suit that she wore for work, she walked to her daughter's room and knocked.
"honey? Wake up." her tone soft, like she didn't want to wake her up forcibly.
Seeing that she didn't wake up, she walked to the side of the bed and sat on the edge.
She lightly pushed her daughter, trying to get her to wake up.
"Hey, wake up…" continuing the light pushing. Her daughter shifted a bit before her eyes fluttered open.
"Good morning, I need you ready after half an hour, okay?" Aurora lightly ordered.
Her daughter just groaned before she sat up and got out of bed.
Aurora walked out the room, walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.
She looked at her coffee machine and turned to a shelf, taking out a bag with coffee beans, she put the coffee beans in the machine and turned it on.
The machine whirred as it began working, Aurora walked to the fridge before taking out a bag of bread.
She took 4 pieces of it and put 2 in the toaster, and when it finished, she put the other two.
She took the toast and made one cheese sandwich and the other peanut butter and jam.
The coffee machine began pouring the coffee into the jar that was right under it, Aurora put a sandwich in a zip lock bag and put them on the table.
She then took a mug and poured the coffee from the jug into the mug. Her daughter walked down the stairs.
She is now in her school uniform and she had her bag, she took the zip lock bag and put it in her bag before eating the other.
"Thanks mommy!" she giggled. Aurora looked at her and smiled as she drank the coffee.
The smell of coffee was the best, that grounded smell, it made her feel like she was one with nature.
After her daughter ate her sandwich with haste, she took her bag, which was littered with stickers.
At that moment, a deep horn can be heard from outside, like it was from a bus. Aurora's daughter ran straight out and into the bus.
Aurora just watched as she drank her coffee, she then walked to the front door and taking the briefcase that was right next to the door and walking out.
She walked towards her car and drove to work, and during that, she began to go back in memories…

I was at home, at my part-time job that my parents forced me to have, it was a librarian job, but I liked the calm.
I was sitting at the desk, waiting for someone to come and ask for a certain book.
Looking around there were a lot of people reading, the sounds of pages being turned, the smell of paper.
I hated how some paper can be so rough yet soft… especially dusty ones, but here I am, reading a drama book while waiting.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, I quickly took it out, I had kept it in vibrate to make sure that I don't make any noise.
It was a message from Natalie, a picture, I opened the message and saw a selfie of her and Elliot with me in the background reading.
I quickly looked around and fixed my seat and hair. Elliot's here?! Where??
All I saw were book shelves, people reading, and a couple workers rearranging the books, then I looked at the entrance…
Elliot!… and Natalie too. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my breath and heart.
Natalie waved and walked in, Elliot followed behind.
Natalie leaned onto the desk and her face was as smug as usual.
"Hello, what do you need assistance in?" I said, trying to keep things professional despite Elliot just standing behind her.
"That's how you greet a friend? I'm offended." she laughed, This girl is insufferable.
"I am just doing my job." I said in a cold tone. Elliot looked around the library and began to get to slowly walk away and into the forest of shelves.
His eyes filled with amazement, like he just discovered the library of babel. If only he acted like that with me-.
"Still can't believe that a gorgeous woman like you is in love with such nerdiness." Natalie giggled, as she looked at Elliot who was drawn in to the books like they were sirens singing.
"Shut your mouth or I make sure you can't talk." I growled, if people know about how I like him…
Scenario 1:
People look at Elliot like he is some kind of hypnotic villain for making the number 1 girl in school fall for him.
Scenario 2:
People laugh at me for having low standards
Scenario 3:
Guys Bully him hard because of envy.
The list goes on… so I need to shut her up befo-
"Don't worry, I'm not gonna butt in on your little… Moments" She winked, "Maybe I can be your cupid even."
I just rolled my eyes, looking back at Elliot, he had disappeared into the forest of shelves.
"so… which do you choose? The easy way where I help and make him see you…" she offered "or the hard way where you struggle against his dense personality?"
I thought about it… I want to be with him as soon as possible but my parents won't let me get a boyfriend until I finish my school life…
"The…" I hesitated before taking a breath and looking her in the eyes "easy way…"
"Good girl" she giggled patted my head.
"Shut it!" I yelled, losing my composure then I put my hands on my mouth… forgot it was a library.
I looked at the manager who gave me a dirty look, and I forced smiled, trying to calm the tension, he then looked back at his book.
"oopsy poopsy." she giggled, damn it… I wanna punch her so hard.
"Anyways, later, me and Elliot will go to a nearby karaoke Cafe, maybe if you join us, he will see you." she teased.
I just silently nodded, but at that moment Elliot walked out of the shelves and came to the desk, putting down a book about a teenager who gets magic powers.
"Can I rent this?" he asked, I nodded, taking the book and scanning it on the computer and doing some library nonsense to let him rent it.
"that would be 5 dollars, return would be in… next month." I told him, he nodded and walked out the library, his step seems like it was a bit… bouncy.
Not sure I caused this or the book did but… it's nice.
