Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Unexpected Accident

Sean woke Eliot up and asked him if he had had dinner yet. Eliot said he had not yet and they had dinner together. Sean asked him how was his day and he replied that it was nothing enjoyable but it was fine. And he asked about how was Sean's day and he said that it was fine but the questioning did not go as planned so he just left Thomas be in there for sometime and he came home because it was already past nine. Later they decide to go to the nearest store to get ice cream together. As they were leaving with their ice cream Sean sees a few old friends and they decide to have a chat. Oliver and Milo had known Sean since middle school and Theodore had been friends with him since college. They had met after a long time so they decided to go to the beach together and have a talk. The beach was not very far from the store and Eliot and Sean were going there anyways. They had a lot to say but it was late so Oliver and Milo left first because they had work the next day and Theodore had nothing planned so he stayed and had a phone call from his mother so he also left. Sean and Eliot were the only ones left in the empty beach. The sounds of the waves clashing with the sand brought back the memories of their first time together there. Sean had to go to work so he wanted to leave but Eliot wanted to stay for a little while. Sean had no choice so he let Eliot be there and he made his way towards the road. Little did he know what was coming for him. He was just in the middle of the road and a car came full speed crashing into him. On hearing the noise Eliot quickly got up and ran towards the sound. On arrival the sight in front of him was Sean covered in blood and no one in sight was there. He froze at the sight of his only family in that state. Eliot called the ambulance and just sat there with Sean's head on his lap crying because he didn't know what to do about the situation. The ambulance came in a few minutes and took Sean to the hospital. He was admitted in the ICU. Eliot was very concerned about him and the thought of his only family and friend passing away was driving him crazy. The doctor asked him if he was injured but he could not answer because of his tears. He felt like someone had broken his heart into a million pieces and threw it away. He felt extremely guilty about the accident even though it was not his fault. The doctor came out and told him Sean would be okay but he had broken a rib or two so he would need to be admitted in the hospital for a month or two. Eliot relaxed a bit after the doctor said that the accident was not very serious. A few days later passed and Sean still had not woken up and Eliot visited him every day. The next day Sean had finally woken up after sleeping for four days. Eliot had been asleep by his side with his hand on his head. Sean weakly smiled and the doctor came for check up. He asked him to be quiet and not wake him up. The doctor told him that the injury had healed and he would be discharged shortly and that his health had improved significantly since the accident. Sean just laid down and after a while Eliot woke up. He was very pleased to see Sean was awake. He could not see clearly because his eyes were covered in tears as he hugged Sean. Sean was a little weak and his chest still hurt cause his ribs were still healing but the pain had been healed the moment Eliot hugged him. That day he was discharged from the hospital and he was able to walk but not properly so he was brought home. Sean used a wheelchair for a while but soon he was able to walk and move around properly. Eliot helped him to move around and he had no problem walking around on his own now. Eliot was very gentle with him but he could not hug him and he was upset about that. After a month of recovering from the injury he was a healthy young man but Eliot did not want to let him go out alone. His past came haunting him again. He was scared to lose his only hope for living. Eliot was in the police department before when Sean and he used to be friends before the misunderstanding. Eliot had decided that he would join Sean's team again but this time to protect him. He joined the team before because he wanted to be with Sean but things were different. Before Eliot left he was an admired officer and him join the team again was a good sign for the team. Sean was very successful in the team and he led the team but Eliot had a higher position than Sean and he may be younger than him but he was still better than him. After Eliot left then was Sean's time to shine. In terms of talent and intelligence Eliot was always better than Sean. But the trauma was back but it made Eliot even stronger and gave more confidence to be able to stand up for himself and Sean. The next day he went to the station with Sean to find out who the culprit behind the accident was. Everyone was very happy to see him back but they were very obedient and followed his instructions. This time the one questioning Thomas was not a soft hearted boy but an officer who had been in charge of the police force and had solved more cases in a week than any other officer.
