Facing the combined assault of Whitebeard, Shanks, and Rayleigh, Kong was finally overwhelmed.
Whitebeard's quake-powered slash sent him flying, though the white bone armor covering his body absorbed much of the destructive force, sparing him from mortal injury.
Kong's heart sank. His attempt to show off had backfired completely—he looked battered, leaving Good with an impression of weakness rather than strength.
In truth, the entire war now hinged on Good.
Even with the Army and Air Force joining, the Marines were still losing ground. Their high-tier and top-tier combat power fell far short.
If Good fell, the war would be lost.
At the frontline, Good and Redfield clashed.
Redfield fought like a cornered rat, darting desperately, never daring to meet Good head-on.
When he noticed Kong struck by Whitebeard, Redfield's eyes lit up. He turned sharply, aiming to take his revenge.
It was Kong who had captured him in the old era and thrown him into Impel Down. After all those years in chains, Redfield craved payback.
But behind him came Good's roar.
"Fighting me, and you dare get distracted!?"
Stones rained from the sky like guided missiles, forcing Redfield to evade. In that instant of hesitation, Good was upon him.
His draconic-scaled fist gleamed with the power of countless fruits as it smashed into Redfield.
"Boom!"
Redfield's body twisted grotesquely, blood gushing from his mouth.
One punch. Two punches. Three punches.
Every blow wracked his body with agony.
For the first time, Redfield found himself longing for Impel Down. At least there he hadn't suffered like this.
Desperate, he screamed toward Whitebeard, Rayleigh, and Shanks:
"Quick! Join in!! If I die, none of you will escape!"
Good's ferocious barrage drove him across the battlefield, from the front lines to the rear. Good followed, relentless, his fury boiling.
Whitebeard, Rayleigh, Shanks—and even Bullet—moved in to attack Good together.
But Good ignored them completely, focusing only on Redfield, hammering him mercilessly.
Every strike splattered blood. Flames of regeneration roared across Good's battered frame as he tanked the others' attacks, only dodging killing blows.
Redfield's mind cracked.
"This bastard's insane!!"
Another fist caved in his chest, another shattered his nose, blood streaming endlessly.
He cursed, he raged, but Good gave him no rest.
The other legends looked on, bewildered.
Why Redfield? Why only him?
Had he wronged Good so deeply?
In truth, Redfield was merely unlucky. Good needed his Observation Haki's ability—mind reading.
Finally, as Redfield teetered on the brink of collapse, Good's system chimed:
"Congratulations, Host! Observation Haki has advanced—mind reading unlocked!"
Good's eyes sharpened.
He abandoned Redfield instantly and turned his gaze on the others.
Whitebeard, Shanks, Rayleigh, and Bullet all froze as that gaze pierced them.
Good swept his eyes once—and in that glance, he knew their every attack.
When they struck, Good slipped between their blows, countering flawlessly, knocking all four back.
"What!?"
"What just happened!?"
"Does he… know our moves before we make them!?"
Their voices rang with shock.
In that moment, Good had transcended even the realm of monsters.
He read their intent, foresaw their strikes, and delivered perfect counterattacks.
Such a thing should have been impossible for any human.
