Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Shock Across the Prison! Magma + Gura Gura!?

A moment ago, only Bullet's Conqueror's Haki had been sweeping through the prison.

But now, from within Good, an equally fearsome wave of Conqueror's Haki erupted.

In an instant, the aura of a king burst from him, dark red lightning crackling in every direction.

The two Haki collided like massive waves of energy, their clash creating a storm that surged across the entire floor.

Across from him, Bullet's expression shifted to shock.

"He… he actually has Conqueror's Haki!?"

When Bullet had unleashed his Haki earlier and Good didn't respond, he assumed the man couldn't use it.

But now he was—catching Bullet completely off guard.

If he'd had it all along, then what had he been doing earlier?

Bullet felt an exasperated black line in his mind.

Good's Conqueror's Haki was just as strong, clashing evenly with his own.

Around them, the prisoners reacted the same way. Like Bullet, they had thought Good simply couldn't use Conqueror's Haki.

Now, not only did he have it, but it was no weaker than Bullet's.

Behind Good, Momousagi's beautiful eyes widened in shock.

When Good had fought Shiki or Whitebeard, he hadn't used Conqueror's Haki, and she assumed he hadn't awakened it. But now she realized the Fourth Admiral had already mastered it.

This was a first for the Marines of this era. The original three Admirals lacked Conqueror's Haki, but with Good's arrival, there was now an Admiral with the spirit of a king—raising the standard of the rank.

Magellan stood frozen. Just moments ago, he'd been trying to talk Good down, but the man had been hiding this power the whole time?

Why had he stayed silent, looking like he'd been humiliated?

Blackbeard was impressed. This young Admiral already had the king's disposition.

Shiki, however, showed little reaction—he had fought Good and seen him trade blows with Whitebeard.

Only if Good hadn't had Conqueror's Haki would Shiki have been surprised.

Good and Bullet's Haki collided, their auras forming opposing domains.

Bullet's expression began to change again. "What… what's going on?"

Their powers had been evenly matched, yet now Good's was starting to press down on his.

The strength of his Haki was still rising.

That made no sense—Bullet had never seen such a thing before.

"This guy…" he thought, at a loss for words.

In Good's mind, the system's voice echoed: "[Conqueror's Haki] Strength +9, [Conqueror's Haki] Strength +9… +9…"

Every moment of the clash was pushing his power higher, until he began to suppress Bullet's aura entirely.

And when he had copied the ability, it had been Whitebeard's—though incomplete, it was already about eighty percent of its original might.

From the start, his Haki had been formidable, and now it was climbing even higher.

Soon, Bullet's aura was being pushed back, the once evenly split territory now falling under Good's control.

"Why is his Conqueror's Haki still growing?" Bullet thought, gritting his teeth as he tried to push back.

Around them, other powerful inmates noticed something was wrong.

The Red Count frowned. "What's going on here?"

Magellan's eyes narrowed—was this man actually growing stronger mid-battle?

Or had he been pretending to be weaker from the start?

Magellan was inclined to believe the latter.

In moments, Good's Haki sliced through Bullet's like a blade, his kingly pressure slamming down and making Bullet's steps falter.

Now, only Good's aura filled the prison, pressing down on all sides.

Those who had been weakened by Bullet's Haki now collapsed outright under Good's.

Behind him, Ace, in chains, was already sweating. "This…"

"This Conqueror's Haki… it's almost on par with that man whose Haki leaks out everywhere…"

He was, of course, referring to Red-Haired Shanks, whose Haki was unmatched—even Whitebeard's fell short.

The prison fell silent. Even the boldest inmates now looked at Good with fear.

Bullet's loss left his expression ugly.

He had been so sure he could humiliate Good, but now the tables had turned—and he knew the others would mock him for it.

He needed to restore his pride.

Bullet forced a sneer. "Reckless Maniac Admiral, if you've got the guts, let me out and we'll fight one-on-one!"

Magellan quickly tried to dissuade Good from taking the bait.

But Good didn't even glance at him—his arm swung back as he unleashed Guren: Shinken (Crimson Lotus: Quake Fist)!

The power of magma fused with the Gura Gura no Mi surged forth, a massive molten fist roaring toward Bullet. The air shattered like glass in its path, cracks spreading wide.

The prison erupted in shock.

Magellan froze, Hannibal was left dumbfounded, and Ace, Crocodile, and the Red Count all stared in disbelief.
