Chapter 29 - missing

Once Toge completed his training, his body ached, yet his mind was more active than ever. He lay on the bed, trying to rest, but no matter how much time passed, Toge couldn't fall asleep. So, he decided to go for a walk to clear his head.

Slowly, he got out of bed, put on a light jacket, and left the house. The city streets were quiet at this time of night. The faint glow of streetlights illuminated the empty sidewalks, and the cool air gently brushed against Toge's cheek.

Toge walked calmly, passing by closed stores and gazing at the neon signs that still flickered faintly. The air was refreshing, helping him think clearly. "Ah... It's good to clear your mind in this refreshing weather," Toge muttered happily before continuing on his way.

He kept walking until he reached the bank of a nearby river. The moonlight reflected off the water's surface. Toge sat on a large rock and let out a deep sigh.

This was the moment he needed—a moment of peace away from the chaos that had begun to take over his life. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to forget everything.

The tranquility didn't last long. Touji heard a faint rustling in the trees behind him. He slowly opened his eyes, thinking someone was watching him, but was surprised to see a small white cat with glowing green eyes emerging from the trees and heading toward him.

It was his cat!

Toge was surprised. Since he had enrolled in the academy, he had never seen this cat. He even thought it had found a new home with other cats, but it seemed he was wrong.

Toge cautiously extended his hand. The cat approached slowly, rubbing against his leg and letting out a soft purr. Toge smiled, picked it up, and began stroking its head. Its fur was soft to the touch. "Meow," the cat let out a small meow.

Time passed quickly without Toge realizing it, and when he did, he decided to head back home.

"Let's go, my friend. It's time to go home," Touji whispered to the cat.

The cat let out a faint "meow" before following him softly. Touji slowly got up and headed back the way he came.

When he reached the house, Toge opened the door quietly. He went inside and closed the door behind him.

Once in his room, he placed the cat on the floor. It began to walk slowly, looking around, then jumped onto the bed and lay down.

Toge smiled gently before lying down next to it.

"Well, it's time to sleep," Toge said, and the cat fell asleep, but Touji still couldn't sleep.

He had a lot of things to think about:

First: He had to find Stain, the Hero Killer.

Second: He had to train to master the Cursed Energy.

Toge closed his eyes, and his body fell into a deep sleep.

Toge's thoughts finally stopped, and he surrendered to a deep sleep after a long night. His body was exhausted from training the Cursed Energy, but his mind was at ease after his nighttime stroll with the cat.

A few days earlier

In a distant place, under a dark sky and inside an abandoned soccer stadium, the scene was entirely different.

The destroyed stadium was filled with broken steel threads. In the center, a man in his twenties stood. He was wearing a gaudy outfit, and his face showed signs of defeat. But when he saw the silhouette of the boy who had defeated him fading away, a cold smile formed on his face.

This man was Toka Emonta.

In his hand, the steel threads gathered and melted, turning into a shiny, silvery liquid that flowed slowly. The reason he couldn't break the steel wasn't Because of the oil on the threads; his Quirk had always been unknown.

Some people might think his Quirk was to turn things into stone, but nothing about that was true.

In reality, his true ability was to control the properties of matter, but he fooled people who followed him into believing he could only solidify things. He honestly only wanted two things:

Food and sleep.

If he had to fight people for power, he'd rather get a good night's sleep instead.

Two men, who were wearing guard uniforms, approached him. One of them looked scared, while the other was calm.

"Sir! You lost!"

Toka raised his hand, pointing at the man. "Silence. I'm tired and I want to sleep. Do you think my power is infinite?"

The two men looked at each other before deciding that silence was the best option.

When Toka returned to his headquarters, he found a large screen in front of him showing a world map. There was a large red dot blinking in the middle of the map.

"Hmm, so this is it."
