Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: Malfoy’s Been Waiting for This Day Like a Maniac

Leon was gearing up for a big project.

Step one: launch the "Harry Potter Global Fan Club."

Hogwarts students could join for free.

Alumni? They'd get a 30% discount on the membership fee.

The club would host regular events, hand out little gifts, hold in-person meetups, run fan lotteries, and offer discounts on Harry Potter merchandise.

Step two: publish a monthly Harry Potter magazine.

Club members would get it at half price!

For now, it'd be sold in Britain, but global subscriptions would be accepted.

Leon had the content all planned out.

The first issue would dive into the origin of Harry's "Boy Who Lived" title, update fans on his current life, feature an exclusive interview, showcase a photo spread from last year's Quidditch matches, and serialize Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone over twelve months.

After that, they'd move on to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Each issue would include sections like: Harry's little secrets, his current goings-on, exclusive interviews, chats with his classmates, best friends, dormmates, rivals, professors, and even the headmaster, Quidditch match photos, the ongoing serial, and a fan Q&A.

Leon had the perfect excuse to make some serious gold while "compensating" Mr. Weasley for his car.

No way Harry wouldn't jump on board.

The team was already set.

Leon, as founder, investor, and primary bankroller, would be the majority shareholder and top dog.

Harry, the core of the project, would be a major shareholder—maybe via a "celebrity patent" stake.

Ginny as the reporter.

Colin as the photographer.

Luna would write and handle distribution, leveraging her dad's connections as editor of The Quibbler. She'd get a small share.

Hermione would be editor-in-chief.

Ron could play multiple roles: insider expert, anonymous tipster, special guest, or even occasional writer.

Kreacher, bored at home, could pitch in with odd jobs.

Once Dobby was free, Leon planned to hire him full-time.

In short, Leon was brimming with ambition to launch this venture and, in the process, "clean" some of his Galleons.

The project had real potential.

If a fame-chasing fraud like Lockhart could make bank with clever packaging, why couldn't they?

Harry Potter's name might not be globally famous yet, but it was a household name across Europe—especially in the British wizarding world.

Plenty of people admired Harry.

Once the magazine launched, sales wouldn't be an issue.

If this took off, the benefits would be huge: uniting friends, raking in profits, and honing their skills.

Most importantly, it'd give them control over the narrative. If you don't seize the platform, someone else will.

Harry needed a voice.

Leon needed it even more.

Leaving Professor Trelawney's office, Leon decided to swing by the dorm.

He needed to change robes.

Then he'd grab his trusty navigator and head to the Great Hall for lunch.

Back at the dorm, he finally met his other three roommates.

"Hey! I'm Donald," said roommate number one, a tall, sturdy lad with flowing blond hair, a pouty way of talking, and a love for playing the accordion. Clearly the group's ringleader.

"Hi, Leon! Great to finally meet. Just call me James, thanks," said roommate number two, a round-faced guy with dark hair, no beard (yet), and natural eyeliner. He was a loyal follower of Donald and loved saying "thanks."

"Er, I-I'm Elon," stammered roommate number three, a chubby kid with dark hair, a downward-curving mouth, and an air of arrogance. He fancied himself the group's number-two.

Leon was floored.

A five-person dorm, and they were already halfway to two sets of legendary trios? What kind of magical feng shui was this?

He made a mental note to talk to his mum about the mystical forces at play in Gryffindor boys' dorms.

Colin was nowhere in sight.

Leon changed quickly and headed to the common room to pick up a temporary navigator.

There, he ran into Ginny.

"Ginny! Heading to the Great Hall for lunch? Wanna go together?"

Leon hurried over.

"Pfft!" Ginny burst out laughing at the sight of him.

"What's so funny?" Leon asked, puzzled.

"I just keep thinking about Transfiguration class," Ginny said, grinning. "That giant iron rod you conjured—hilarious!"

She walked beside him, cheeks flushed from laughing.

"It wasn't on purpose," Leon said with a shrug. "Professor McGonagall didn't have to take points off. I mean, sure, I messed up her serious vibe, but a hopping rabbit's pretty cute, right?"

Leon played innocent. His overflowing, uncontrollable magic was a real headache, okay?

They reached the Great Hall, chatting and laughing.

It was a bit late, and many students had already left.

Luckily, their afternoon Herbology class wasn't first period, so they had plenty of time to eat.

During lunch, Leon spotted Luna and gave her the small gift he'd promised—a pink Pygmy Puff, matching the ones he'd given Hermione and Ginny.

"Thanks. Oh, it's adorable, isn't it?" Luna said dreamily, her large eyes fixed on the fluffy ball.

Leon couldn't tell if she actually liked it.

Should he have gone for something like a Crumple-Horned Snorkack? Would that have been more her style?

Then again, did Snorkacks even exist?

After lunch, Leon, Ginny, and Luna strolled around the courtyard to digest.

Leon humbly asked Luna about Snorkacks, sparking a lengthy explanation.

Ginny's head started to hurt from listening.

Just then, she spotted Colin up ahead, holding a Muggle camera and talking to Harry.

"What are they up to?" Ginny asked.

Leon followed her gaze.

Oh no. This wasn't good.

His plan wasn't ready yet, and he couldn't risk Harry getting annoyed about too much attention.

Leon strode over and slung an arm around Colin's shoulders, cutting him off mid-sentence.

"Hey, Colin, my plan's not finalized yet. We can't tell Harry."

Colin blinked, confused. "Plan? What plan?"

Leon sighed. With this kid, you had to be blunt.

Leaning in, he whispered, "Colin, you're just going to annoy Harry. You don't want your idol to dislike you, do you?"

Colin's eyes widened, and he shouted, "What? No way! I just wanted a signed photo!"

Leon slapped his forehead.

This kid was hopeless.

"Signed photo? Is Potter handing out signed photos now?" a snide, nasal voice cut in.

Draco Malfoy, smug as ever, strutted over with his two hulking sidekicks, Crabbe and Goyle.

"Giving them out right here, are you? Need me to spread the word?" Malfoy sneered.

He turned and shouted to the courtyard, "Listen up, everyone! Harry Potter's giving out free signed photos! Line up, first come, first served!"

Harry's face turned scarlet. "Shut up, Malfoy! I'm not! I'm not!"

Colin stood on tiptoe, ready to defend his idol, but Leon held him back.

A fight? With their side full of lightweights and Malfoy's crew of no-brainers?

No need to explain anything to a git like Malfoy.

Rule one of surviving: never justify yourself.

Rule two: attack, don't defend.

The crowd in the courtyard grew.

Leon stepped up to Malfoy, looking down at him like he was an ant.

"What's that? You've been dreaming of this day so bad you've gone mental?"

Malfoy bristled. "What? What kind of joke is that? Scarhead Potter's signed photos are worth—"

"Didn't you just say it yourself?" Leon cut him off.

"Trying to take it back now? Everyone here heard you loud and clear."

Leon turned to the gawking crowd. "Didn't you all hear it? Malfoy was practically bouncing with excitement, yelling about Harry giving out signed photos! Telling everyone to line up nice and orderly. Sounds exactly like a rabid Harry Potter fan, thrilled about his idol's giveaway but worried people might mess it up and hurt his hero."

"Ohhh!" The crowd nodded, murmuring in agreement.

No doubt about it—that's exactly what happened!

"You! You—you—you!" Malfoy turned beet red, practically steaming.
