Chapter 46 - Purpose - Deal with Third Hokage, Let Yūgao Be the Maid

"Hey, Sister Yūgao, I'll be needing your advice in the near future."

Exiting the Hokage's office, Naruto regarded Uzumaki Yūgao with a proud expression.

The latter was left speechless and couldn't help but roll her eyes at him.

Yūgao inquired dejectedly, "What exactly did you say to Mr. Third Hokage?"

Moments ago, she had been ordered to bring Naruto to the Hokage's office.

Naruto and the Third Hokage conversed inside for less than half an hour before she was summoned by the Third Hokage.

The Third Hokage informed her that, from this point on, she would be temporarily reassigned from Anbu and resume her identity as Special Jōnin Uzuki Yūgao of Konoha, to accompany Naruto.

Whatever he told her, she must do it.

The general meaning is that before Naruto departs from this time and space, she is to serve as the guardian of the Seventh Hokage.

Naturally, the role is described with politeness, but in essence, she is a personal maid.

Tending to Naruto's daily life and all facets of it.

The Third Hokage even hinted that if Naruto has particular desires in certain aspects, and if she isn't particularly uncomfortable, then she should attempt to fulfill them.

At first glance, these words seem to offer a lot of leeway, but they were spoken by the Third Hokage himself.

If she were to refuse Naruto's requests, her standing in the Third Hokage's eyes would undoubtedly plummet.

If she wished to advance in the future, she might have to wait until the next Hokage takes over.

In this ninja world, ninjas are essentially tools of their superiors.

The superior dictates the destiny, and the subordinates must obey absolutely, with no room for personal emotions or feelings.

The so-called ninja is a being who must discard all emotions and endure everything.

Upon receiving the order from Third Hokage, even if she is married to Gekkō Hayate, she still has to obey.

Yūgao, however, felt a bit unhappy about her fate being controlled by others.

Naruto chuckled and said, "Don't worry, Sister Yūgao. I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do. If you have any issues with my requests, just tell me directly. We can talk it over."

Her spirits lifted by what Naruto said, Yūgao felt more at ease.

"I have received professional training!" Yūgao declared firmly, "Since Third Hokage has given the order, I will do my best to satisfy you."

Naruto merely smiled without comment.

If he were to take her words at face value, he would be a fool.

Should he decide to exert this power, he could indeed dominate her.

But from now on, he feared he would never have the opportunity to do so.

Regarding how he convinced the Third Hokage to make such a request, it was obviously because the Third Hokage desired something from him.

After speaking with two advisors the previous day, the Third Hokage pondered long and hard before summoning Naruto today to discuss it.

Naruto knew nothing of these two advisors, but after a few brief exchanges, he deduced the Third Hokage's intentions.

They aimed to exploit Naruto's abilities while he remained in this time and space.

Naruto considered it to be a natural human desire.

If he were in their position, he would likely do the same, but it all hinges on the approach and attitude.

Moreover, he wanted to ask the Third Hokage for money to assist others.

Following considerable contemplation, the Third Hokage abandoned the notion of assigning Naruto to missions.

Common tasks are unnecessary for him; they are too simple.

The truly challenging ones are long-term and require traveling far from the village.

The Third Hokage themselves were not particularly concerned; however, if Naruto were to leave the village, the two advisors would likely have a falling out.

They had no idea when Naruto would return to his original time and space. What if his mission was only halfway through?

After much consideration, the Third Hokage decided it would be more beneficial for Naruto to locate a group of promising young individuals and train them.

Since Naruto came from the future, he would undeniably know who would be of significant use in the years to come.

Naruto must have a clear understanding of what their future strengths would be and the paths they would take. By guiding them, he could achieve twice the results with half the effort.

Moreover, Naruto was aware that he could not be entirely idle while in the village. Upon reflection, this task seemed less daunting than others.

It's merely a question of words. If one is unhappy, one can easily lose face.

Furthermore, the "teacher halo" was just bestowed upon him last night. Wouldn't that be useful?

Initially, the Third Hokage requested that Naruto bring a dozen to twenty people for a group training session, comparable to a class in a ninja academy.

Naruto naturally declined and negotiated, finally settling on the Twelve Genin Graduates.

However, he excluded himself, leaving only ten people. It was not group training, but rather two individuals per day, depending on their schedules and his mood.

Once Naruto reflected on this, he found the task relatively easy, and thus, he agreed.

At the same time, he made his own request: to have Yūgao assist him.

The reasoning was sound. He needed to focus on creating training plans for the ten individuals, so he required help with minor tasks.

Furthermore, his own life was in disarray, and he needed someone meticulous to manage it.

Thankfully, he had a good rapport with Yūgao, so he invited her to join him.

Comparatively, the Third Hokage covering all of Naruto's expenses during his stay in Konoha was a trivial matter.

After all, it was for the sake of nurturing the village's future leaders, and the Third Hokage accepted Naruto's terms.

Among the twelve little heroes that Naruto had selected, ten of them embodied the Will of Fire perfectly.

In the Third Hokage's view, those belonging to the pure Hokage faction should be cultivated with extra care.

However, he felt that Naruto was at a slight disadvantage as he had to relinquish the only attractive girl nearby.

It's not for personal consumption, but rather to have someone appealing around him.

Now, Naruto wished to leave, but the Third Hokage had another condition: he insisted on including two young individuals from the Sarutobi clan.

Naruto was slightly embarrassed at the time, thinking, "A young man from the Sarutobi clan? What is this Sima Yi situation?"

Though he couldn't voice his thoughts directly, he declined courteously.

The Third Hokage's final enigmatic request was that Naruto should strive to fulfill special requests, which he communicated to Yūgao.

In the Third Hokage's mind, since Naruto had created the unconventional Forbidden Technique known as Sexy Jutsu at such a young age, they must share similar tastes.

The future Seventh Hokage was now in full bloom, and his wife was absent. What was he to do?

It was fortunate that Yūgao was of the appropriate age!

While the Third Hokage was generous to others, it could also be seen as a waste of resources.

In his perspective, with this arrangement, Naruto would undeniably put his all into teaching the two ninjas he sent.

Therefore, they agreed on these terms: Naruto would have a part-time assistant who would also work for the Third Hokage.

The extent of her duties would depend entirely on Naruto's whims.
