Alrin woke up first and quickly got up as soon as his tribulation ended and saw Alara lying next to him when she also opened her eyes.
"What happened?" He asked helping her up.
An hour ago when the tribulation started Alrin was instantly caught up in it since he was holding on to Csepel.
"NO!" Alara shouted seeing the tribulation start before immediately rushing in to aid Alrin since he collapsed.
"ALARA STOP! You will only increase the difficulty!" Vera shouted but it was too late Alara had already entered the tribulation.
Not only did get more difficult the more people participated but Immortal tribulations also had two aspects to them the spiritual and the physical. In the spiritual portion of the tribulation cultivators were shown their inner demons and would need to overcome them to solidly their path. While in the physical portion cultivators were struck by Immortal Lightning one strike for each core. Each strike endured would have an effect of strengthening the body to endure the immortal essence their bodies would begin to create with the formation of their inner world.
As she headed into the tribulation Alara saw Alrin standing still like a statue already lost in the spiritual tribulation but as soon as she got close to him a bolt of Immortal Lightning struck her causing her to join in the tribulation.
However unlike Alrin, Alara had a much better time with the spiritual tribulation. She was unlike Alrin who in his journey for revenge simply endured with his inhuman will. Maybe this was due to her peerless talent but Alara was the type to face things head on not the type to endure. Because of this she had already made peace with her past and was able to easily overcome her tribulation and force her way into Alrin's tribulation.
"Sorry, if I was stronger I could have killed him before the tribulation ended." Alara said after explaining what happened.
Hearing that Alrin laughed and said, "Sorry, for what? You saved me I'm grateful for that."
Hearing that Alara smiled before turning to look at Csepel's unconscious body that was only a few feet away and spoke, "Lets end this."
She gathered her petals above Csepel's body and began to rain them down on his body until their was only mush left. Yet even though he should be dead the clouds above did not clear instead they were beginning to churn as lightning began descending beginning the physical tribulation.
Seeing that Alrin moved he grabbed Alara's collar and yanked her back as hard as he could sending her flying just just before the lightning descended.
Immediately after a rain of lightning struck down but since it was only the first wave the radius and power was weaker.
"Alrin are you okay!?" Alara shouted after seeing him struck by the lighting. She was more hesitant on rushing to help him this time because as long as she maintained her distance the tribulation would not continue to grow even stronger than it should. Also unlike the last this was purely about raw power their were not tricks to get thorough this you either had the power or you didn't.
"I'm fine stay back for now!" He shouted looking at Alara before turning his gaze to what was left of Csepel.
He quickly move over Csepel's body and began inspecting it but as he was inspecting the second wave struck. The power and size of this wave doubled but for now it was still doable for Alrin.
With this Alrin was certain Csepel was still alive and somehow using them to deal with the tribulation so he focused his Sencia into his eyes and began looking for something that he might have missed.
Searching like this he eventually found what he was looking for but then the third wave struck. Its power had once again doubled and Alrin's body was finally hurt from the power of the tribulation.
Despite this his will was as strong as ever and he pressed on. He had found an extremely minuscule strand of blood connected to the mangled flesh Alara had destroyed buried in the ground.
"Alara! I need your power he's buried himself 50 meters underground!" Alrin shouted since he unfortunately had no good ways of digging him up.
Hearing that Alara immediately rushed over and using the earth element sent her petals into the ground. Just as Alrin had said Csepel was hiding underground and moving directly beneath them using them as a shield. Alara gathered her petals around and him and was able to forcibly teleport him back to the surface when the fourth wave arrived.
"Focus on him I'll protect you!" Alrin embraced Alara intending to use his body to absorb the power of the lightning so she wouldn't get hurt in the slightest.
As he held onto her the fourth wave hit and this time it's power with Alara joining had jumped to 10 times the power of the first. The pain was severe and it was destroying his body from the inside out but he did what he set out too. He absorbed the entire force of the attack preventing any harm from coming to Alara.
Alara trusting Alrin focused on her teleportation of Csepel and had managed to succeed but what had become of him was quite pitiful. In his last ditch effort to survive he had used a forbidden blood path ability to help him escape and hide but he had turned into a defenseless fetus.
Seeing that Alrin did not gloat nor did he relish in his victory he grabbed Csepel and crushed him in his hand creating a pathetic end for a fiend. Now that Csepel was finally dead the tribulation's clouds began to finally disperse.
"It's over." Alrin said but their was no satisfaction in his voice. It was hard for him to be satisfied with how things turned out. This was further emphasized when he looked over to the town and he saw how destroyed it been.
"We did it." Alara said before passing out from fatigue. Seeing that Alrin was quick to react and caught her.
Since she was still wearing his cloak he gently placed her on the ground to check her condition. Seeing that nothing was wrong with her he was relieved it was just fatigue.
"Alrin how the hell are you still alive!?" Rex shouted running over.
"I'm not that easy to kill it just took longer for me to regenerate because I was poisoned."
"Fucking monsters I guess you two are a good match." Rex said.
"How is she?" Vera asked.
"She is fine just needs some rest." Alrin replied.
"Alright take her to get some rest. Rex you can go with them Edward come with me to finish cleaning up." Vera said having one last thing she wanted to check.

Back in the mayors residence Vera and Edward were currently interrogating the mayor.
"How long were you working with the fiend for?" Vera asked.
"Not long just a few months and I had no choice he was forcing me." The mayor tried to plead his case.
Hearing that Vera activate the pill that he had eaten earlier and overwhelming pain came over the mayor.
"How long were you working with him?" She once again questioned
"A year and a half."
"Shit!"
"Vera?"
"He was not the original target. We were lead here on purpose using another fiend as a distraction." Hearing Vera say that Edwards immediately tensed up. "Relax a fiend would not attack us for fun their needs to be a benefit for them and they already got it."
"Ah I see they got the time they wanted to escape."
"Yes either way we will be returning the sect this will count as completion for the mission we stopped a fiend from reach immortality so I'll make sure we are properly compensated."
"And him?"
"I brought you didn't I?" Saying that she began walking away while Edward took out his sword.
After leaving Vera sent a message back to the sect so they could send people suited to restoring the town. Now the only thing she had to wait for was Alara to wake up so they could leave.
