CRASH!
Both the Count and I turned to see a waiter standing in the midst of a mess of cups and dishes.
"M-my apologies, Sir and Madam," he panicked as he noticed our eyes on him. "I will clean this up right away and make myself scarce."
I felt sorry for the poor thing. "There's no need to apologize-"
"See that you do."
Huh? What a rude thing to say. Who dared to-
I turned to the Count to see him glaring at the waiter.
"Right away, Count, Sir!" The poor man bent immediately and began gathering the scattered dishes. Luckily, they had been empty, and only one of them seemed broken.
My gaze turned to open disbelief as I watched the Count glower at the waiter. I'm not sure if being rude to service workers could be considered a flaw by society's standards (spoiler alert: it would not be), but it was absolutely unforgivable in my opinion.
And who would I be if I didn't rudely blurt out my opinion?
