Chapter 13: The Cursed Wesen and Rosalee's Expertise

The case was a strange one, even by Portland's new, Wesen-filled standards. A powerful, unidentifiable Wesen was terrorizing the city, but he wasn't doing it on purpose. He was being controlled, a puppet on a string, a monster without a will. The Wesen would woge and attack people, then revert back, with no memory of what he had done. It was a curse, a powerful, dark, and ancient curse. A magical anomaly.

"A cursed Wesen. This is a tough one. We can't just fight him. We can't just subdue him. We have to break the curse. This is where Rosalee shines. She's the expert. She's the hero of this story. She's the one who's going to save the day. And this is a great way to show her that she's a crucial part of the team, not just a sidekick, a powerful force in her own right. She's not just a Fuchsbau, she's a healer, a protector, a magical expert. She's family. And she's going to be the key to our success here."

The team, now a well-oiled machine, was at the spice shop. Rosalee was poring over ancient books, her face a mask of concentration, her brow furrowed in deep thought. The scent of exotic herbs and ancient potions filled the air, a potent mix of magic and science. Adam was watching her, a satisfied smile on his face. He knew she was the key to this case.

"The curse is a powerful one," Rosalee said, her voice a bit strained, as she slammed a heavy book shut. "It's a form of mind control. It's an ancient spell. It's… it's almost impossible to break. The recipe for the counter-curse calls for a rare ingredient. A specific herb that only grows in the high mountains of Bavaria. We don't have time to get it. This is a dead end."

Adam, ever the pragmatist, had a solution. "We don't need the herb," he said. "The herb is just a catalyst. The real power is in the spell itself. The sorcerer is the source of the curse. The person who cast it is the key. We need to find them and break the curse at its source."

Nick, now more confident and open to the magical world, nodded. "You're saying we need to find the sorcerer, the person who's controlling this Wesen?"

"Exactly," Adam said. "We need to find the person who cast the spell. We need to find them and stop them. We need to break the curse at its source. And Rosalee… you're the one who's going to help us. You're the expert. You're the one who knows how to break this kind of spell. You're our magical support."

Rosalee, her eyes wide with fear and determination, nodded. "Alright. I'll help. But this is dangerous. A mind-control spell… it's not something to be trifled with. We have to be careful. The sorcerer could be more powerful than we think. We need to be prepared for anything."

The team, guided by Rosalee's knowledge and Adam's foresight, tracked the sorcerer to an old, abandoned warehouse near the docks. He was a minor Wesen, a potion maker, who had been hired by a more powerful force to cast the spell. He was a coward, and as soon as he saw the Grimms and the Blutbad, he tried to run.

But he was no match for them. Adam and Nick, working together, were a blur of motion. Monroe, with his incredible strength, was able to corner him. The sorcerer was subdued, and Rosalee, with a powerful counter-spell she had quickly brewed, was able to break the curse. The Wesen, a kind, gentle soul, was freed from the curse. He was released, a grateful and relieved creature.

Adam, with a small, confident smile, made an incision on the sorcerer's arm, drawing a few drops of blood. As the blood hit his inventory, the sorcerer screamed in pain, but the wound healed instantly.

[System] The (Cursed Wesen Type) Potion grants a minor resistance to curses and a slight boost to magical awareness.

Adam looked at the glowing vial in his inventory, a small, satisfied smile on his face. Another vial. Another step closer to his goal. He looked at Rosalee, her face a mask of exhaustion and triumph. She had done it. She had saved the day. She was a hero.
