Synopsis
When you die, reincarnation is one of the top guesses for what comes next. But waking up in a fictional world? Definitely not what I had in mind. I could've landed somewhere chill, Pokémon. Maybe Yu Yu Hakusho. Even Bleach would've been manageable. One Piece? …Okay, maybe not One Piece. But no. I ended up in Dragon Ball. The place where people sneeze and accidentally destroy planets. (cough cough, beebus cough cough.) The worst thing is, I’m not even in full control of myself. because apparently, FOOD CRAVINGS override my will now. Oh well, atleast I am on the stronger side of things... I hope that makes things better. --- Where we have Self insert reincarnate as Android 21. This is my first Dragon Ball fic, so I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 1 - this... this is not what i expected when i died.

I was confused.

Of course, I was.

There was nothing. No light. No sound. No sensation. Just pitch blackness, yet not quite empty. It moved, thick and slow like I was floating in some kind of… liquid void?

My thoughts felt sluggish. Detached. My mind swam through static.

Then it hit me.

"Ah… I'm dead, aren't I?"

Not exactly how I thought dying would feel, but I guess you don't get a handbook for this sort of thing. No bright light. No tunnel. Just… the memory of a party, a stupid dare, and a backflip I definitely shouldn't have attempted.

"...I knew I was going to die eventually," I muttered. "But I assumed it'd be cancer. Not a backflip. Ugh… I really hope no one was recording."

I let the silence settle again. There was no pain. No body. No real sense of self.

Except for one thing.

A hunger.

Deep. Endless. Gnawing at me, not my stomach, but somewhere deeper. A craving etched into the very core of my existence.

Why would I be hungry... when I was dead? which was a very valid question.

Then, suddenly, the void shifted. Like being yanked out of a dream. A jolt surged through me, almost like waking up too fast. The liquid? pulled away, and Gravity began acting upon me.

Sensation rushed in. My limbs tingled, awareness crashing down like a wave. I stumbled forward, heavy and light all at once, like I was wearing skin that didn't quite belong to me.

My feet hit solid ground. Cold... Metal maybe?

I opened my eyes.

Harsh artificial light flooded in, burning against newly sensitive eyes. I winced and instinctively shut them, then slowly opened them again, blinking against the brightness.

A lab?

Everything was pristine. The air even smelled sterile. The faint hum of machines filled the silence, monitors displaying unreadable data, robotic arms locked in standby mode, and soft blue lights pulsing gently across the floor panels.

I stared.

The room was vaguely circular, sleek, and unnervingly silent. A control console blinked in the corner. Medical pods lined the wall... how did i know that?

i quickly shook my head and gazed direction behind me, where I came from and... A vat. Full of pinkish fluid.

... Did I come out of that? Was... was I born out of that?

I turned back to face the room again, still trying to piece together what was happening. My head ached, like something pressing against a door not yet open.

A flash of something.

The curve of the lab wall. The hum of the lights. A sense of familiarity pulsed through me, even though I was sure this was my first time laying eyes on this place.

Am I a... some sort of clone? A lab-grown body? Biotech!? What type of reincarnation is this?

Seriously, what kind of sci-fi plot had I gotten dropped into?

I glanced back at the pods again. Déjà vu lingered at the edge of my thoughts, but I forced myself to ignore it.

Focus. Think.

Looking down at myself, it became obvious that something was off. My body felt wrong. Taller. Heavier in places that hadn't been heavy before.

Especially the chest.

I reached up, lightly poking at it with an unamused look.

"Yup. Definitely not my original body... neat, definitely got the genetic lottery in this life."

I was wearing a lab coat, too. Crisp and white, with the edges falling to my knees. Underneath was… a checkered mini-dress?

I stared down at it, unimpressed.

"Really? A checkerboard dress and heels? This was someone's idea of peak fashion?" i sighed "Oh well, not my place to judge. Atleast the lab coat is cool."

Was I a researcher in this life? Maybe... was I like experimenting on myself? mad scientist type? That's cool. a little unsettling. But still cool.

I rubbed my arms, trying to shake the creeping disorientation.... and extreme hunger, Jesus. I needed something to distract myself with... like... a mirror!

"I need to see what I look like properly," I muttered.

Eyes scanning the room, I walked slowly, my steps echoing softly against the metal floor. I checked beside the consoles, then circled around the nearest pod.

And then I found it.

A polished reflective panel on the wall. Not a full mirror, but enough to catch a glimpse.

I stepped in front of it.

Long, wild, bushy auburn hair that fell down to my hips. Pale skin, unnaturally smooth with a faint glow. Piercing blue eyes behind a pair of glasses. Hoop earrings. A short, high-neck minidress with a red and blue checker pattern, paired with black tights. One red heel, one blue, both tipped with gold. A lab coat draped over the whole thing.

I stared.

My breath hitched. My chest rose and fell.

"W-what!?"

I stepped back and blinked rapidly. Then waved my hands. Made weird motions. Raised my arms. Touched my face. Everything mirrored exactly.

.

.

.

"Holy shit!" I gawked, mouth hanging open, the woman in the mirror doing the same.

It took me a few minutes just to process what I was seeing. "Well… I guess I know where I am now. Or… who I am."

I looked again at my reflection, squinting.

"Never would I have expected to be reincarnated as Android 21. I really should've paid more attention to the FighterZ plot." I scratched the back of my head, then shrugged. "Oh well. Not like it'd make a difference. The whole thing started because Android 21 got hungry and wanted to absorb people… I think? I only really played the online matches."

I laughed nervously. "What's the worst that cou-"

A sharp pain tore through my stomach. I dropped to one knee, clutching it with both arms as an overwhelming wave of hunger crashed through me.

For a full minute, I couldn't move. Could barely breathe. My body trembled with the force of it.

Eventually, the feeling dulled just enough to stand again.

I staggered upright, panting. "Okay. First plan. Find. Fucking. Food."

the end :P

A/N I hope you enjoyed reading. I decided to write this after realising, wait a minute, this could work pretty well if I ignore FighterZ and made her canon. So I did, (I could also make this a non Self insert as well. ngl. wonder if that'll be more liked or less liked. dunno.)

(also like, i really don't know how hunger works, so work with me here.)

Please comment as I love comments. also if i get anything wrong feel free to correct me.
