Chapter 1 - The Shattered Arena

[Magic System Note]

Magical Power Levels

Each magic level is divided into three stages:Basic → Advanced → Mastery

"Dare you speak up to me? You are a mere commoner!"The thunderous voice of King Exlavor II echoed through the royal arena.

Clutching his side and gasping through the pain, Earnest managed to speak, "Your Majesty… even though I won with my own power, the power you yourself praised not too long ago yet you still refuse to accept your son's defeat. Your last hope of keeping me away from Ida... has vanished into thin air."

Blood trickled from his lips as he fell to one knee. The crowd erupted in whispers. Confusion spread like wildfire as Princess Ida suddenly teleported to Earnest's side, placing her hand on his shoulder to support him.

"Did he cheat?"

"What's his relation to our princess?"

"What's going on?!"

The chaos of the moment was seized by Grandmaster Gunther, the king's right-hand man and earnest's father figure. With a cold chant, he summoned a massive, complex magic circle high above the arena—Death God Play.

Earnest's eyes widened in horror."That spell… that's my creation…"

He stood frozen. The very spell he had poured his heart into, a spell he had gifted to the royal family for his engagement to Ida, now targeted him. The betrayal burned deeper than the pain.

His mind spiraled. Rage and heartbreak clashed, and his mana began to lose control—twisting, pulsing, growing violent.

[Flashback: Creation of "Death God Play"]

A younger Earnest smiled proudly, standing with Ida under the moonlight. The newly crafted spell was meant to protect his loved. He had named it out of flair, not intention. How ironic…

[Flashback Ends]

Back in the present, he knelt.

"Betrayed… Are you kidding me?"

"If I were given another chance… I would never trust these greedy old royals, thinking of nothing but their own gain."

As the spell effect takes place, earnest is reduced to nothing but ashes.

"Wait… What is this feeling? Genjutsu? Illusion? Why me…?"

His vision faded. But something—or someone—was watching.

A soul burning with potential. A spark of rebellion. The wheel of fate turned.

And just like in the stories…Earnest's soul was pulled from his broken body and cast into the void between worlds.
