Third POV

A few weeks later

Aaron continued his training and kept getting stronger, but he was still far from completing the fusion of Apokolips steel and Beskar steel. Each day, though, he got closer and closer. According to Jarvis, the process of merging the two metals would take at least three more months to finish,

and that was only an estimate.

It could take longer, or it could be done sooner. And that wasn't even including the time it would take to actually design and build the suit, which would take at least a few weeks on its own. Luckily, with Jarvis's help, all of this would be made a whole lot easier for Aaron.

Back to Aaron's POV

I was in the kitchen making breakfast, talking with Jarvis.

"How's my company doing, Jarvis? Is it doing well?"

"Your company is doing excellently, sir. I'm running it exactly as you instructed."

"That's good to hear."

"Sir, I don't mean to overstep, but would you consider skipping training and the lab today? I believe the isolation is doing you harm."

"Me? Harmed by some isolation? Pffftttt. There's No way, Jarvis. Good joke tho."

"I wasn't joking, sir. Perhaps you should at least go for a walk."

"A walk? Well… uhmmmm… I guess I could take a day off."

So I went to get dressed in casual clothes. It was actually pretty hard to find something casual, my closet was full of extravagant clothing, but I managed to find something. I threw on some gray shorts and a random T-shirt I found hanging in the back of the closet.

"This is such a pain in the ass. Why am I even listening to Jarvis? I'm NOT lonely."

But even I knew That I was lying to myself. Deep down, I knew that I was very lonely. I didn't have any friends my age. I never went anywhere. I just stayed at home training or working.

So, under Jarvis's pressure, I finally left my mansion and went for a short walk.

Outside, it was warm, and the sun was shining beautifully, so I actually enjoyed my little stroll.

I also noticed a lot of people walking their dogs.

And then I thought:

Jarvis said I'm lonely, and I don't have any friends to hang out with, so… why not adopt a dog? Imagine this: I'd have Aaron Jr. We'd be the best duo. While I'd be flirting with some cute femboy dog owner, Aaron Jr. would be charming their femboy dog.

This is just a great idea.

(Author: Bro, WHAT??? What is wrong with this lunatic, guys? HELPPPP. I don't want to be left alone with Aaron, I'm scared he might… t-touch m-me…)

So, I set off on my way to the shelter.

When I got there and saw all the little animals in their cages, I couldn't help but feel kind of sorry for them.

But then my attention was immediately drawn to one tiny Pitt Bull Terrier puppy. I walked over to his cage, and the little puppy laid down on the floor and showed me his belly????

Did he… want me to rub his belly?

Well, I don't mind giving a cute puppy a belly rub.

I reached my hand through the cage and started scratching his belly, and that little pibble started nodding his head as if he was saying, "Yep, that's exactly what I wanted from you."

Then I heard footsteps. When I looked up, there was a pretty young woman standing in front of me. She seemed to work at the shelter and said,

"Good afternoon, sir. Can I help you with something?"

"Yeah, you can. I'd like to adopt this pibble."

"You mean Clanker?" she asked as we started walking to the counter.

"Clanker? That's his name? Like… seriously?"

The girl nodded.

"His previous owner called him that, and now he won't respond to any other name."

I just stared at her, completely dumbfounded.

Who would name their dog Clanker?

That's just… a crazy name.

(Insert an image of Clanker here, thanks)

While I was busy thinking that over, the girl pulled out some adoption papers and started talking.

"You know… Clanker… he's… special. He's kind of difficult and doesn't usually like people. I'm honestly surprised he let you rub his belly."

I nodded to show her I understood.

"I get it. I still want him."

For the first time, she smiled.

"I just wanted to warn you."

Then she handed me a pen and showed me where to sign.

A few very boring minutes later…

After signing all the documents, the girl told me I could come pick up Clanker tomorrow and that she'd get him ready for me. So, I headed back to the mansion and told Jarvis about the fact that we'd soon have a new member of the household.

"I can't believe you actually listened to me, sir."

I scratched the back of my head, and even though I really didn't want to admit it, I said,

"Well… I guess you were right about me being… lonely."

The Next Day

I went to the shelter again, and when I walked out of it, I was holding a small, cute pibble in my arms.

I quickly ran home because I wanted to show this adorable pibble to Jarvis.

The moment I stepped into the mansion, I shouted,

"Hey, Jarvis! I'm back with a new member of the household!"

Jarvis looked at the pibble through the computer camera he was connected to.

"Wooow, sir… this pibble is really cute."

"I know, and his name is Clanker. Trust me, I know it's a really weird name. I wasn't the one who named him, that was his previous owner."

Then I set Clanker down on the floor and let him explore the mansion he'd be living in.

"Clanker, sir? Why would anyone name their puppy Clanker?"

"I had the same question as you, Jarvis, but whatever. Just look how cute he is," I said, pointing at the pibble… who was currently rubbing his balls on… my pillow?

"Yeahhhhhh, that's really cute, sir," Jarvis said, and even through his robotic voice, I could tell he was being sarcastic.

Meanwhile, I was staring daggers at the pibble.

This little shit dared to bite the hand that feeds him.

Well, I hadn't fed him yet,

But you know what I meant by that.

I'll make him pay for this…

A Joker-like smile spread across my face.

Jarvis nervously said,

"What are you planning, sir?"

I ignored Jarvis's question, scooped Clanker up into my arms, and carried him to the bathroom.

I was sure he hated baths, so I shoved the pibble into the sink and turned the water on.

But this guy….... he enjoyed it?

Clanker was completely relaxed in the water, not protesting at all.

As I was about to grab the dog shampoo and wash him, I heard something really strange.

"Clean my bellayy."

"Huh? What the… was that?" I was completely confused.

Then I heard it again, but this time much louder:

"I said CLEAN MY BELLAYYY!"

I must've been hallucinating.

I ignored it and started scrubbing Clanker's belly with shampoo,

And the strange sounds stopped too.

"I really need to start getting more sleep," I muttered to myself.
