-----

We went back into the meeting room, and Cyborg was trying to locate Atlantis. Meanwhile, I was just lying on the table like a sack of potatoes, bored out of my mind.

While Flash and Lantern were talking about Atlantis, Shazam asked Cyborg,

"Did you find it yet?"

And Cyborg answered, "Not yet, it's more complicated than it looks."

Shazam kept going, "Well, I hope so, because it looks simple."

"I'm digitally scanning every mention of Atlantis," Cyborg replied.

"You're starting to sound like a crazy workaholic. You're just like your father now."

Then they kept yapping some more, but I couldn't care less, so I didn't listen to a single word and instead started talking with Jarvis.

"How's the company doing, Jarvis?"

"We have launched three new products on the market, sir, and we've recorded a very high demand for them."

"So we're making money?"

"Yes, sir, we're profiting. Also, sir… you have been invited to a gala."

"And? You already know I don't go to those kinds of events, Jarvis."

"Sir… you must appear at public celebrations from time to time in order to maintain your image. And besides… the gala is being hosted by Lex Luthor."

"Lex Luthor? And he invited me??"

"Yes, sir."

"Oh, he probably doesn't know yet that I was the one who force choked him. Jarvis, tell them I'll be there."

"Yes, sir. I will inform them of your attendance at the gala."

"When is this gala happening, Jarvis?"

"Exactly one week from now, sir."

"Alright, thanks for letting me know, Jarvis."

"It's only my job, sir."

Then I heard the comms ringing. Finally, I lazily lifted my head off the table and realized Batman was calling us.

"Send a team to the lighthouse in Mercy Reef. Coordinates attached. Find Arthur Curry. Fast!"

I sighed and pulled my glider over with the Force. But then a smile crept across my face, maybe, finally, I'd get to use Shinra Tensei on a living being. I mounted my glider, and all of us headed towards Mercy Reef.

A few minutes later

I heard Flash through the communicator saying,

"I've got him," so I went full speed after Flash. Eventually, I started to see a small rocky patch in the middle of the sea, swarming with a bunch of purple fish-like beings with tattoos all over them. These were the creatures from the Trench.

(Insert a photo of those ugly fish monkeys, please.)

I saw Mera summon water blades and start massacring those creatures. Wait… does this mean I can kill them? Hmmm… I've got a feeling Batman's gonna chew me out for it. Hmmm… is it worth it? Well, of course it is. Besides, what the eyes don't see, the heart doesn't grieve.

So I decided to use my super tactic.

With the Force, I lifted those beings into the air and threw them into the water. Yeah, I know they can breathe underwater, but I tossed them in just so no one would see me crushing their necks with the Force.

Their bodies just floated on the ocean surface, but that didn't bother me. I jumped off my glider and saw Batman already arriving in his Batwing, so I started beating the creatures down with my fists.

When they surrounded me from all sides, I stretched my arms out and closed my eyes. I focused and started feeling the Force all around me. Then, just as Jarvis had explained, I pushed space itself outward in a burst, using myself as the center point. A wave of Force exploded from me, and when I finally opened my eyes and the dust cleared, the Trench creatures that had surrounded me now lay all over the ground. Their limbs were twisted at impossible angles, and I'm pretty sure if they had penises, even those would've been bent the wrong way.

They flailed helplessly in front of me, crying out in pain. So I decided to end their suffering. I stretched out my hand and used Life Drain. Instantly, all the Trench creatures stopped groaning, closed their eyes, and just lay motionless on the ground. I felt myself grow just a little bit stronger.

"I should start using Life Drain way more often," I muttered under my breath, while Batman watched me from his Batwing with that same look as always. He didn't say a word. He didn't even look like he cared. It was the same look he had when he saw me killing Parademons, so I guess I'd been scared for nothing. Finally, the rest of the team started arriving, one by one.

I went back to using Life Drain, killing hordes of Trench creatures, while the others fought too. Flash was smacking everyone around with his super speed. Wonder Woman was tossing them into the sea with her Lasso of Truth. Cyborg was decimating them with his beam. Shazam fried them with his lightning. And Green Lantern? Well… that idiot got jumped, but he recovered and made a giant jellyfish net, catched the Trench creatures like Pokémons and threw them into the sea. And at last, Superman arrived. He landed so hard I'm sure he broke a few spines among the Trench creatures, then glared at them with his glowing red eyes, ready to unleash his heat vision.

"Disappear!" Superman roared, and the Trench creatures scurried back into the depths with their tails between their legs.

(Insert SpongeBob's jellyfish net here, please.)

Meanwhile, Aquaman and Mera were having their romantic moment, which Lantern ruined by opening his mouth as usual. And speaking of Aquaman this version of him honestly looked like a gigachad compared to the one from Flashpoint.

"Those creatures… were they Atlanteans?" Lantern asked.

Mera answered his question.

"Trench monsters. Predators that fed on carrion at the bottom of the sea before Atlantis sank. They were meant to kill Arthur…" She took Aquaman by the hand. "We can't waste any more time. Come with me."

Finally, Superman gave Arthur a motivational speech to convince him to return to Atlantis.
