Chapter 19: All Star Team Up (and the Idol's Hacking Debut)
"It's a tech team-up! A nerd convention! I'm so excited I could spontaneously combust!" Adam practically bounced off the walls of S.T.A.R. Labs. Felicity Smoak and Ray Palmer were in town, seeking help with the ATOM suit, and the air crackled with the promise of scientific breakthroughs and rapid-fire banter. "This is like when Tony Stark met Bruce Banner, but with more puns and less gamma radiation. Probably."
Jisoo, meanwhile, was utterly fascinated by Ray's shrinking suit. "So, it gets small? Like a very tiny person? Can it go inside things? Like a very small snack?"
"Theoretically, yes!" Ray chirped, adjusting his glasses. "But we're still working on the 'not dying' part."
The villain of the week, Brie Larvan, the Bug-Eyed Bandit, controlled robotic bees. Jisoo, despite finding them "cute but evil," was intrigued. "They are like… very small, angry drones. Can I make them dance?"
Adam, watching Cisco and Ray bond over their shared love of tech, felt a surge of inspiration. "System, Minor Wish: 'Real Bees.' Target: S.T.A.R. Labs. Make them harmless. And annoying. For a few seconds."
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: Minor Wish 'Real Bees' Used. Cost: 10 Days. Current Wish Balance: 271 Days. Team's annoyance: High. Host's amusement: High.
Suddenly, a swarm of actual, buzzing, but completely harmless bees materialized in the lab, causing everyone to shriek and duck. Cisco flailed, swatting at the air. Caitlin yelped. Barry zipped around, trying to herd them.
"Adam!" Felicity yelled, swatting at a bee near her ear. "Did you just summon bees?!"
"Just adding a little realism to the 'bug-eyed' theme!" Adam said, trying to look innocent while stifling a laugh. "Totally worth it. Their faces were priceless."
Later, as Felicity struggled with a particularly complex hacking sequence to disable Larvan's bees, Jisoo leaned over her shoulder, her eyes scanning the code. "This part," she said, pointing with a perfectly manicured finger, "it's like a bad melody. It needs… a cleaner beat. A faster rhythm."
Felicity blinked. "A cleaner beat? What are you—"
But Jisoo was already typing, her fingers flying across the keyboard with surprising speed and precision. Using her eidetic memory, she recalled every line of code Felicity had shown her, every shortcut, every trick. She quickly found the flaw, and with a few rapid keystrokes, disabled a significant portion of the robotic swarm.
"Jisoo!" Felicity gasped, staring at the screen. "You just… you just hacked it! You're amazing!"
Jisoo simply smiled, a small, unbothered curve of her lips. "I learn fast. And I don't like angry bees."
Adam, seeing Ray Palmer looking stressed about his research, decided it was time for another mutually beneficial transaction. "Dr. Palmer," Adam said, "you look like you're trying to invent cold fusion with a spork. Perhaps I can offer a 'Research Acceleration' wish? Speed up your breakthroughs. For, say, one hundred and eighty days."
Ray's eyes lit up. "One hundred and eighty days? That's… that's incredible! How?"
"Cosmic productivity boost," Adam shrugged. "Think of it as a caffeine IV for your brain. Deal?"
"Deal!" Ray exclaimed, shaking Adam's hand vigorously.
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: Wish Trade initiated. Customer: Ray Palmer. Wish: Research Acceleration. System Estimate: 80 Days. Host Proposed Trade: 180 Days. Profit: 100 Days. Customer agreed. Wish granted. Current Wish Balance: 371 Days.
"One hundred days profit," Adam thought, a satisfied grin on his face. "And Jisoo just became a hacker. My life is truly a gift that keeps on giving. Even with the occasional bee swarm."
