Chapter 24: Al Sah-him (and the Prank That Almost Broke Oliver)
Oliver Queen, now Al Sah-him, the Heir to the Demon, had returned to Starling City. He was a ghost of his former self, a weapon in Ra's al Ghul's hand, preparing for a forced marriage to Nyssa. The air in the Arrowcave was thick with despair.
"Well, this is just a delightful turn of events," Adam muttered, watching Oliver, grim and unsmiling, interact with the team. "He's got the 'evil makeover' down pat. Next, he'll be asking for human sacrifices at team meetings. And a forced marriage? Classic villain move. Very dramatic. Very 'Beauty and the Beast,' but the Beast is a ninja assassin." Adam's sarcasm was a desperate attempt to cope with the profound discomfort he felt. Oliver was truly lost.
Felicity was heartbroken, her usual fiery spirit dimmed by grief and anger. "He's gone, Adam," she whispered, tears in her eyes. "He's really gone."
Jisoo, ever the anchor, sat beside Felicity, gently braiding a strand of her hair. "He is still there, Felicity-unnie," she said softly. "Just… a very sad song playing inside him. We will find the melody again." She also subtly helped Felicity hack into League systems, her eidetic memory proving invaluable.
Adam knew he had to do something. Something big. Something that would, for a fleeting moment, break through Oliver's grim facade and remind him of the absurdity of his situation. And maybe, just maybe, give Ra's al Ghul a heart attack.
"System," Adam thought, a truly epic prank forming in his mind. "Major Wish: 'K-Pop Makeover.' Target: Oliver Queen's entire League of Assassins uniform, including his sword. Make it bright pink and sparkly. During a serious training session with Ra's. Activate now."
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: Major Wish 'K-Pop Makeover' Used. Cost: 150 Days. Current Wish Balance: 231 Days. Oliver's humiliation: Absolute. Ra's' confusion: Profound. Host's joy: Unparalleled.
In Nanda Parbat, during a grueling training session, Oliver, mid-parry with Ra's, suddenly found his dark, menacing League uniform transform into a blindingly bright pink, sparkly K-pop idol outfit. His sword, too, shimmered, becoming a pink, glitter-covered prop. Oliver froze, his eyes wide with horror. Ra's al Ghul, the Demon's Head, stared at him, a flicker of profound confusion crossing his ancient face.
"What… is this?" Ra's intoned, his voice devoid of its usual menace, replaced by sheer bewilderment.
Oliver, for the first time in weeks, looked utterly, completely flustered. He wanted to scream. He wanted to disappear. He wanted to punch Adam.
Back in the Arrowcave, Adam was laughing so hard he was crying. "Oh, my Grodd. That was… that was a masterpiece. The Pink Arrow. It's glorious. Oliver will never forgive me. And it was worth every single day."
Jisoo, seeing Nyssa's quiet despair over the forced marriage, extended her hand. A small, ethereal projection of a beautiful, blooming cherry blossom appeared in Nyssa's palm, shimmering with delicate light. It was a fleeting symbol of hope, a reminder of beauty even in the darkest of times. Nyssa looked at it, then at Jisoo, a flicker of gratitude in her eyes.
"My Jichu," Adam thought, wiping a tear of laughter from his eye. "She's all grace and beauty, even when I'm busy turning the brooding hero into a K-pop idol. My Wish Day balance might be taking a hit, but my heart is full."
