Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

I blink for a second and grunt at the rush of knowledge and power entering my body and mind. The first one is a memory of my previous life.

I am a reincarnated person from Earth, and my new name is Tavian Iscari. In this world, I am the only child of the Iscari Noble House. My family is a new noble. We are a family founded in the Conflict of Succession era of the Queendom of Falena.

And the Iscari Family became noble in 434 SY (Solar Year) when the Succession War happened, and now it is 449 SY. Yeah, we are a very new noble house.

We were initially a merchant house, but my father became a noble when he decided to join Queen Fazlham Falenas' side in the war. When the civil war was over, Queen Fazlham granted my father nobility before she died two years after taking the throne, leaving her daughter Arshtat to take the throne.

Anyway, as a reward for our support, the queen granted us land. We are now the owners of the Yashuna Region. That sounds massive, right? Well, it is not. Yashuna Region is a small region situated on the western side of Estrise, a port city.

There is only one village in this region because most of the region is filled with thick forest. The village is called Yashuna Village. Its main attractions are the hot springs and the resort inside the village.

Our family's main income is from the lumber business, and trade tax because we connect two big cities. Yashuna Village is situated next to the Feitas River, which connects Estrise and Rainwall.

You can go to Estrise from Rainwall using the land route, but it will take four days, while it takes half that if using the water route. We are exploiting that because the merchants need to rest, and Yashuna Village sits right in the middle of the route.

That means all merchants need to go to Yashuna Village if they want to enter the Center Region of Falena from Estrise.

We make sure to keep the tax low because we want all the people to use the village as a stopping point, and it is working. Coins trickle in, and we get a good amount of money.

As for me? Well, I am a merchant, a well-known merchant in the world. I receive a lot of money from my trade. Money flows toward me without me doing anything. Not only that, I also built a reputation that made me known throughout the entire country and even feared. How? Well, it is because of my power that I received it by luck.

We will get into that later.

I am now the Lord of the Iscari house because bandits killed my mother and father. That is the reason why I stepped back from my merchant days and became a Lord. However, despite stepping back, I still have minions that will bring me money.

I am already putting them through training to make sure the trade will go smoothly.

Before I go to my list of powers, let's speak of this world.

Some of you might already know about this world with all the names of places. This is the Suikoden World.

It's a classic Japanese role-playing game (JRPG) franchise developed and published by Konami, inspired by the Chinese novel Water Margin (Shui Hu Zhuan), which features 108 heroes of legend.

The game is about political conflict, war, and revolution. Not only that, there is also the side of magic and fantasy sprinkling in the game.

And the Queendom of Falena is in the Suikoden 5 Timeline.

It is a relatively peaceful timeline, but it will soon change because the canon timeline is about to start. Just like any story or game, it will start to get chaotic when the canon time starts.

At least, I chose a good background to reincarnate.

Yes. I choose to reincarnate. Do I know I will be reincarnated? Nope. I get reincarnated because of a CYOA, and from that CYOA, I get powers.

There is something I am sad about with the CYOA I filled out. Why? Well, it is a Creative Mode CYOA. I can choose all the power in that CYOA and still have some points left.

Do I regret it? Never. I get powers from that CYOA, but only pick a theme rather than spending points.

What theme do I pick? Planeswalker from Magic: The Gathering and Type-Moon.

I am a Pre-Mending Planeswalker with all it entails. That means I am a master of Colored Magic and able to use a planeswalk ability to go from one world to another. However, my Planeswalker power is different because I choose an upgraded version of Planeswalker.

Unlike a regular Planeswalker, I can travel through the multiverse at my leisure. That means I don't need to prepare when I want to go to another world. I can do an instant jump in case of an emergency.

However, that is not the only thing. My soul and body are also enchanted, and they let me use all kinds of magical systems in every world I visit.

There are many more upgrades from the choices I pick. The key is that I can be the best Planeswalker and the worst nightmare to any Worldwalkers in the multiverse. Why? Well, I can lock a universe and trap a Worldwalker forever, without them being able to jump away.

There are more, but they are too long for me to list.

My second theme is Type-Moon.

In this one… I have a small regret of not taking all of them. One of the things I can get is the Ring of Solomon, which lets me learn any magecraft in the Nasuverse and even lets me see the past and the future.

What do I get? Well, the first one is something called Jacob's Limb. It is an ancient martial art used by Jacob to wrestle an angel. It supposedly lets someone fight an Angel of Destruction at its highest mastery.

At the moment, I am a beginner, but the more I use it, the more knowledge will be implanted inside my brain seamlessly.

The next one is magic from Type-Moon. There are a lot of them. The first one is Magecraft, the very basic type of magic, and the CYOA gives me the knowledge of a Grandmaster in Jewel Magecraft. According to the CYOA, it puts me on par with the likes of Zelretch in Jewel Craft. However, that is only in knowledge. As for the application… I am still far away from that Old Monster.

There is also Old Magic. What's that? Well, it is like the magic Medea and Scáthach use. I can use Divine Words, a spell that uses words from the Age of Gods, or I can use Primordial Rune, the things that Odin made.

However, those are not the cream of the crop. No. It goes to the True Magic. Yeah. I am now a magician and someone who can use the Third True Magic, Heaven's Feel. At first, I wanted to choose the second True Magic, but I decided to choose this one instead.

Even without me actively using this magic, I can feel the souls in my mansion.

Like my magecraft, it gives me a Grandmaster level of control and knowledge of using my True Magic. However, I am still far from being called a proper Grandmaster because I lack experience.

However, even with my lack of experience, I can summon servants from the Nasuverse or even this world. I can take a raw soul, raw energy made from spiritual particles, and copy information of Heroic Spirits in order to generate Servants.

This world might not have an official Throne of Heroes, but it has a 'hard drive' that stores the memory of the heroes or important figures that died in the past for me to summon.

The next one is called the Tongue of Babel. It lets me use the primordial tongue that any creature can understand. It does not give me the ability to understand an animal, but rather the ability to speak something that even animals can understand.

It is a language that speaks directly to souls and lets them understand what I am saying to them. Because of this reason, a weak-willed person and creatures will follow my command.

The next two are regarding Mystery. The first one is Mystery Slayer. Just like the name suggests, I can cancel or destroy the manifestation of Mystery, erasing its supernatural effect.

The essence of this power lies in its ability to kill or eliminate Mysteries—entities or phenomena that transcend current human understanding. This grants me the unique capacity to "slay" Mysteries of any kind, whether they stem from alien science, supernatural magic, or any force beyond the established scope of the Human Order. As long as it exists outside the bounds of human comprehension, it can be neutralized by my power.

Additionally, this power synergizes seamlessly with abilities that drive innovation and expand humanity's collective knowledge. As the mysteries of the supernatural are unraveled and cataloged, my strength will naturally grow, feeding off humanity's increasing understanding and advancement. The more I unveil, the stronger I become—dismantling and countering the very essence of Mystery itself. For what better weapon is there against the darkness of Mystery than the light of discovery and understanding?

The second one is called Enigmatic Mysteries. If the previous one is all about cancelling and destroying Mysteries, this does the opposite.

My Mysteries will never decrease in effectiveness, only growing stronger with time. I will always be able to uncover new mysteries with enough time and research. I will always be able to perform Magecraft regardless of location.

Yeah. I am a contradiction made manifest.

The next one is the Fairy of Paradise.

A Fairy of Paradise is a type of A-Ray dispatched from Avalon with the purpose of persuading the fairies of the six clans to confess their sins and ultimately achieve the goal of creating the holy sword, Excalibur. While I may not be directly on this mission, I am, like Aesc and Artoria, a type of Greater Fairy sent from Avalon, endowed with all the advantages that come with this status.

I am granted a Staff of Selection, which begins with limited power but naturally grows stronger over time. This staff enhances any magic I cast through it. Though indestructible, it can still be stolen. Unlike other fairies, I am immune to the effects of iron. I also possess a unique skill in inventing and learning magecraft; due to my Fairy Patterns, the steps and calculations required for magecraft are so reduced that it feels more like improvising as I go. Additionally, I can learn foundational magecraft and various spells far faster than a human, mastering the basics within a year, even with minimal to no instruction from another.

What is a Fairy Pattern? It is a magic circuit, but superior.

Currently, my Fairy Patterns have not expanded, but over time, both the quantity and quality of my Fairy Patterns will greatly increase at the end of my first month, and will continue to do so every month until the sixth month which will be the final enhancement with all the months collectively being a 6x increase on the quality and quantity of my Fairy Patterns. This will repeat itself again in a cycle of six months, over and over, to represent the pilgrimage the previous Fairies of Paradise have gone through, ringing the six bells.

At the end of this six-month pilgrimage, I will acquire sufficient power to have the option to begin the process of creating the Holy Sword Excalibur and its sheath, Avalon. Ordinarily, this act would consume me, transforming me into the sword itself. However, in my case, the sword will instead absorb all of the power accumulated over the six months, leaving me as if I had never completed the pilgrimage. After another six months, I could either reset myself again to make another Excalibur, enhance the one I already possess, and remove its seals, or decide not to and keep that boost in power for myself.

I shake my head and smile a little.

There are more powers from the CYOA, like how I receive a Rider (EX) skill and such. However, it will take a long time for me, and I don't have enough time to test them because I have a meeting with one of the bigger noble houses.

I also need to prepare for the upcoming canon event.
