As Jeremy is still dazed, still frozen in place, staring at the empty stretch of road where the wolves disappeared.
His mind is struggling to catch up with what just happened, but the sudden sound of the car door shutting snaps him out of it.
He turns quickly, instinct taking over, only to see Axel already out of the vehicle, walking away with unsteady but determined steps.
"Axel…" Jeremy calls, hurrying after him, trying to catch up, but when he reaches for his arm, Axel shoves him back without looking.
"Don't touch me! Just… just leave me," Axel says, voice breaking as it tumbles out in sharp, uneven fragments. "I think I'm losing my mind, I... I just want to be away from everyone and everything. Just… leave me alone."
"Axel, please," Jeremy pleads, not giving up, his voice tightening with urgency as he follows. "You can't leave especially now that you are here. Fenris needs you. And our people need him. But he can't help them if you're not around him. So please..."
