The origin of the small heavenly wooden sword was quite mysterious. Zhang Wei had found it in his backyard that day and he went to the shops to determine its price, and it was 889 yuan. Xero remembered that he was only a year old when he saw it for the first time.
He had grown up with the sword almost all his life, and he had special feelings for it. They formed a bond together.
Now that he's sixteen, the sword had accompanied him for a whole fifteen years.
When Zhang Wei went to go determine the price at a spirit sword festival, he had found out that the wood traced back to ancient times. The dealer specifically said that this type of sword has only been seen in the third century, so this sword was pretty damn old!
Also worth mentioning, is that it mysteriously developed a sword spirit during the Dimensional Seal between Worlds incident.
Its name, Kongji.
…
That evening, Xero settled in his roll-chair in his room. He rested his arms on his desk, and sighed. Now all that's left to do is to enter that group chat…
His phone, was specially made by Tianrui. If he had a phone bought from shops, then it would be shattered with just the taps of Xero's fingertips. Although Tianrui acts like a bastard sometimes, he cares deeply for his little bro. He created this in two days, and it looked exactly like a Xiaomi.
On the homescreen, Xero swiped down until he saw the green "WhatsApp" icon.
Quickly, he entered the interface. He then went to the "Scan Qr Code" icon on the top left.
Xero used his phone to scan the qr code on the letter to enter the group chat.
Then there was a notification.
"User 'Zhang' has joined the group chat. 'The Lazy Sect of Eternal Snacks'!"
(Beware that User 'Zhang' is not a friend of any of the group members.)
Blossom Misaki: Oh! He's here!
Cute Lianhua: !! Is this Classmate Xero's WhatsApp? I wanna add him for fun!
King Zhen: Simplest usernames the best. I thought he wouldn't even join lol.
Mr Birdie (Han Jue): Fr!
Looking at the messages popping up — As habit, Xero just replied with three dots. "…"
Mr Birdie sent a laughing emoji with a message following that, "Those three dots are undoubtedly just like him lmao."
Then Xero sent another ellipsis. "…" The group fell silent.
After three weeks of getting to know each other, Han Jue basically knew how he was like. The iceberg bastard was just as cold as the tip! And they were desk mates — The two hadn't even talked that much, just a "hello, how are you doing and fine." The convos were drier than paint left for an extended period of time.
And now, it's become even more awkward talking online — Just a fart in the face!
Ancient Relic, being the life saver he is, broke the silence with a message. "Make sure you all gather at the school gate at 8 o'clock!"
Eight people had sent an OK emoji the moment that was sent.
Misaki: Does everyone have their swords ready?
Ancient Relic sent another message, "Oh! I completely forgot about this; Misaki raised the issue. When we head there, there will be union members and leaders that will evaluate our spirit swords. I hope everyone has one atleast."
It had been less than a week since they had spirit sword lessons, and they didn't have more than four lessons per week. But sword spirit education started at a young age for most.
With a proper spirit sword, it will first form a contract with its owner. And it would take at least two to three years for them to adapt to each other and be fond. To even create a spirit sword is difficult, and most don't succeed.
Obviously, the spirit swords that had sword spirits bred and were sold in the market were artificial bullshit. Their power is comparable to a cultivation sage at most, but the bond that it develops with its owner is remarkable.
King Zhen quickly posted an image of his sword.
It showed the spirit sword he was currently using. The bright yellow scabbard boldly highlighted his character. The word, "KING" was finely carved at the hilt. And by the quality, it looked real taken care of.
King Zhen sent a follow-up message, "This is my sword! King Jie! My family first forged this when I was born, and I first saw this sword when I was seven. It had been with me for a whole nine years!"
Ancient Relic sent a thumbs up emoji, "Amazing. And by the shine of the blade it looks taken care of. The "King" on the hilt really expresses right confidence, I like it."
King Zhen sent a crying emoji, "Ah, teach, you flatter me… It doesn't have a sword spirit yet though."
Ancient Relic sent another message, "A sword spirit won't form in a day, it requires extensive practice."
After that encouragement, Ancient Relic as expected shared his knowledge, "I know some students in this chat are going through the same problem as Zhen Jie, but don't give up unless you absolutely have to. Once the spirit sword has formed its spirit, it will gradually expand and grow like a real cultivator! Of course, there are limits to sword spirits which form naturally; artificially made spirits are already fixed and cannot grow past that."
"Ah? Tell us more brother Xuan!" Students were interested.
Ancient Relic sent a voice message and patiently explained. "The sword spirit lessons you're taking now are just about basic care, and the advanced lessons will be about flying on a sword or cultivating a spirit. When you get your graduation certificate at this school before university, you'll understand this. Your simple task now is to keep on practicing and form a bond with your spirit."
Ancient Relic sent another message, "Student Zhen has already sent an image of his sword, why don't you guys take photos of yours and share them?"
