I was wedged into the backseat of the car, with a very irritated Tavian seated next to me. Kayden was at the wheel, while Rhydian was seated in the passenger seat, his expression stoic and unreadable.
The silence was heavy, and it brought tension, but at least I didn't have to hear their voices scratching at my nerves.
To distract myself, I stared out the glass, watching the tall cypresses pass by. The Seer's place was farther than I thought it would be.
Or was this a kidnap, was this finally a ploy to get rid of me permanently?
"I don't remember the Seer living out this far," I said, breaking the silence that stayed longer than it should have.
"You've never been there before, have you?" Tavian replied curtly, not even bothering to spare me a glance.
"No."
"Then maybe you should keep that mouth shut."
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. Asshole.
"We're almost there," Kayden said. "Brace yourself. She's the kind of creepy that makes your skin crawl."
