I couldn't think. All I could do was feel was the proximity of being this close to Kayden, and his touch searing into my skin like a brand.
My mind raced with so many thoughts.
Who punished someone with a kiss? But this was Kayden, and there were no limits to what he could possibly do.
I was confused, disoriented and startled, but I tried to mask it with a snarky remark.
"Threatening me with a good time?" I tried to sound like his words had zero to no effect on me, even though every part of my body screamed at me.
His eyes narrowed into dark slits as his lips curled manically. "Then why are you struggling?"
The response came to my mind fast. "I've been kissed enough tonight. Book another time, babe."
He chuckled darkly, a deep rumble that sent chills surging through me. His gaze swept through my body, and settled faintly on the strange mark engraved on my wrist. He averted his gaze quickly, as if it was the last thing he wanted to address.
