Fai had fought against this group a number of times... ooh my bad, he had been a victim of this group a couple of times. On some occasions they didn't use their mutation abilities on him, while in other occasions they did.
That was in fact how he was able to know most of the mutation abilities.
But if there was one person who Fai knew nothing about it was Keal. Never had Keal used his mutant ability on Fai, even when the others did.
Sometimes it even made Fai think that maybe he wasn't a mutant yet, but then again it wouldn't make sense for people to follow someone who was weaker than them.
So it was either it wasn't a combat type mutation, or it was a dangerous mutation that couldn't be used recklessly, at least these were the conclusions he had come up with.
So when Fai saw the change in the color of Keal's eyes, his heart was beating faster.
"Just skill, and a good memory," Keal said, his eyes flared red again, but no visible energy surged from him.
"What is that?"
Johnson asked, perplexed.
"No idea," Fai replied.
"But he's dangerous."
With everyone attacking them, the duo now had a clearer idea of what their enemies were capable of.
Leo could strengthen parts, if not all, of his body to give him a significant strength boost in that area.
For example, he could choose to strengthen his legs, boosting their speed or their attack strength.
This was literally a weaker version of the real Strength mutation. Brine, the girl twin, was able to control wind, clearly indicating she had a wind mutant core.
The effortless way she did so only highlighted her talent. Prime, the male twin and Brine's brother, could control the earth beneath them, a clear sign of an Earth mutant core.
His control also showcased his talent and hard work. And lastly, Keal. Keal was the only one who hadn't used his mutant ability yet.
In fact, he hadn't even engaged in the fight like the rest of them; he had been behind, watching his crew members attack the duo.
"Wait, guys," Keal suddenly interjected, raising his hands to signal them to stop their attack.
Seeing his signal, his crew members immediately froze, even Brine, who was on the verge of unleashing another attack, came to a complete halt as she heard her leader's order.
"I have a better plan. You guys, take care of Fai, while I deal with the new fellow real quick. Let me show him what happens to those who dare to go back on a made deal," Keal stated.
Without waiting for a response from his crew, he sprung into action, taking a couple of steps forward toward Johnson, his eyes still glowing with a slight reddish tint. He was determined to teach Johnson a lesson.
Johnson, seeing Keal advancing, had only one thought: How stupid of you to attack me on your own. I'll be able to focus only on you and deal with you as quickly as I can, then go help Fai.
He then glanced toward Fai's direction. Even in such a moment, he was still thinking of him, this just showed what a kind soul Johnson truly was... or was he?
"Never let your opponent out of your sight," Keal said as he kept moving forward.
"Except if you have a death wish," he continued with a smirk.
"Who do you think you are? My mother or something?" Johnson retorted, then proceeded to take a fighting stance.
With that, Johnson activated his ability, and in a split second, he had disappeared.
Out of nowhere, he was right behind Keal, ready to deliver a strike to the back of his head, aiming to end the fight with just one hit.
But as he sent his hand forward, he suddenly felt something... no, someone. A hand had grabbed onto his own.
Looking closely, he realized it was Keal's hand.
"Well, I guess you could just call me 'daddy.' In the end, I'm about to teach you a lesson you will never forget," Keal said, holding firmly onto Johnson's hand as he blocked the strike completely without even turning around.
It was as if he had eyes at the back of his head, or was it his mutation? That would explain how he saw the attack.
But even after that, Keal wasn't done yet; he didn't stop there. With Johnson's hand held tightly in his, Keal immediately executed a swift turn.
And with his right foot, he gathered the necessary momentum while doing so and delivered a strong kick to Johnson's side.
The force behind the kick was no joke; it was savage. As the foot moved, ripples of waves could be seen pushed by the leg.
In less than no time, it made direct contact with Johnson's side, impacting his stomach.
The kick connected perfectly, and with the strength by which his hand was held by Keal, Johnson couldn't escape.
Damn it, this is surely going to hurt, Johnson thought, closing his eyes and bracing himself, mentally preparing for the hit.
The kick was a perfect hit, a strong one that sent saliva flying out of Johnson's mouth.
Not only that, Johnson could feel it. The hit was strong, strong enough to break a rib or two. The kick was heavy and powerful.
What type of monster is this? Johnson thought, astonished by the force behind the hit.
"And guess what?" Keal said, a smirk on his face. "I'm not done yet." He knew he was stronger.
With that said, Keal went in for another attack.
This time, he grabbed Johnson by the hair and pulled his face down toward his knee with full force.
At the same time, Keal could be seen raising his knee upward to meet Johnson's face mid-swing. Just like that, Johnson's face smacked into Keal's knee.
The power behind this hit was in no way lighter than the previous one; it was a heavy blow. Johnson could feel the taste of iron in his mouth, he was bleeding; that's how strong the hit was.
