"To be honest, my father always hated this city. He believed that eighty percent of the world's bad people were in Gotham. In his words, it's a stinking cesspool of a city, flowing with the 'sin' of the world."
At Gotham Airport, Talia got into a private car, with Tina beside her.
The woman was wearing a black long-sleeved top today, with a black skirt. Beneath the skirt were sheer black stockings and high heels, which made her look cold, yet mysterious, easily stirring a man's strong desire to conquer her.
Tina, who was next to her, had also come to Gotham with Talia, but the girl was a high school student, so her attire was naturally more youthful and energetic.
She wore light blue jeans, a white short-sleeved shirt, black hair, and white-soled shoes, giving off a very youthful and pretty vibe.
The girl pursed her lips, not saying anything.
To be honest, she hadn't been doing well lately.
Before she was caught and threatened by that bastard Gino, she was just an ordinary high school student from a small town.
Although she'd accidentally killed her mother, Tina still thought of herself as a good girl.
But everything changed after she met Gino. She initially thought Gino was after her abilities, hoping she would transform into different women to serve him.
Her ability could not only change her appearance, but also alter her physique and the strength of her muscle tissue.
In Western terms, she possessed a Succubus Holy Body.
But what did that bastard Gino do? He injected her with a Nano-Bomb.
After Gino sent her to be with Talia, that woman threw her into the League of Assassins to learn all sorts of killing techniques and stealth disguises.
Now, Tina was a half-decent assassin. Just looking at her firm forearms, one could tell how hard the girl had been training.
"By the way, Tina." Talia suddenly leaned in, tilting her head as she sized up the girl, "What do you think of Gino Luther?"
"What do you mean?" Tina frowned. Although Talia kept her close, Tina was essentially sent by Gino to monitor Talia. So, her boss was Gino, and the girl wasn't too afraid of Talia.
Talia chuckled softly, "Would you be willing if he were your boyfriend?"
"Boyfriend?"
Tina sighed softly, recalling the scene where she was forcibly injected with a Nano-Bomb that night. Her eyes were melancholic, and her tone was resentful: "I'd rather jump off a building."
Dating Gino?
Tina imagined that scenario.
Gino, with a smile on his face, holding a syringe: "Want to be in love? I'll inject a Nano-Bomb into your neck. If we break up, your head goes boom. A life-or-death relationship."
So, who in their right mind would date a demon? They'd either be crazy or a criminal.
Talia let out a cold laugh; she thought Tina was right.
The two of them chatted idly as their car pulled up outside Elliot Manor.
Talia and Tina got out of the car.
Outside the enormous manor, only an old man with white hair was standing at the iron gate.
"Are you Miss Talia and Miss Tina?" The butler, who had served Loren for most of his life, still had nimble legs. He slowly walked towards the two women, smiling as he said, "Young Master Gino is already waiting in the hall. Please, follow me."
"Hmph." Talia scoffed; the damn guy still had that arrogant attitude.
They followed the old butler into the manor and arrived at the living room.
That dazzling golden hair was eye-catching. Talia saw Gino standing in front of a wall full of oil paintings, his blue eyes fixed on the top painting, a realistic-style oil painting of four people crossing the ocean.
"In the nineteenth century, my great-grandfather's ancestor, along with three other young men, founded Gotham."
Gino, with his back to the two women, spoke matter-of-factly. As he recounted the tale, Talia and Tina learned about the origins of Gotham.
After listening to Gino, Talia raised an eyebrow. She felt a bit of pity for the Court of Owls; they had provoked this troublemaker, Gino.
Gino rubbed his head and turned to face the two women. "You both look very beautiful today."
The young man's casual compliment earned a cold laugh from Talia and silence from Tina.
Seeing their reactions, Gino was speechless. His image in their eyes was truly awful.
However, he didn't intend to mend fences. Gino regained his cold expression, staring into Talia's emerald eyes: "Where are your people?"
Talia idly played with her fingers and said, "They're in plainclothes, scattered throughout Gotham. Roughly fifty of them."
"I hid them all in the sewers."
Gino nodded, not surprised by Talia's arrangement.
Although the assassin profession sounded mysterious and imposing, in reality, their "work environment" was usually quite harsh in order to complete assassination missions.
For example, medieval assassins would typically climb into the castle's cesspool passages, then climb up from below, then lie in wait, and then stab the king in the butt with a dagger while he was using the toilet.
"You go lead the team, find the people on this list, and interrogate them about the other members of the Court of Owls." Gino lazily tossed a piece of white paper to Talia, which was covered in a long list of names.
Over the years, the Court of Owls had long since infiltrated every industry in Gotham: education, law, government – they had people everywhere.
"Understood." Talia took the white paper, knowing it was all about cutting off the roots. She was familiar with this sort of thing, and she wasn't surprised that Gino would do it.
The woman was just about to leave the manor when Gino called her back.
"Right."
The boy snapped his fingers.
"Don't forget to say hello to them for me."
Talia was speechless. This damned sense of humor.
The musty smell of the sewers wasn't pleasant.
Along the side of the dim passage, a group of silent black-clad warriors stood motionless.
Each of them carried two katana swords on their backs, vital areas of their bodies were covered with armor, and their faces were covered with ninja masks, revealing only cold, emotionless eyes.
They were the League of Assassins. Iron and blood were their symbols. They were born to assassinate, cold blades devoid of emotion!
"Swish~"
A ray of light shone from above, and the warriors looked up.
There was an iron ladder, and the manhole cover above it was open. Talia, also dressed as a ninja warrior, waved to everyone.
The assassins silently and quickly climbed out of the underground passage. Standing in the dim alley, they silently watched Talia.
"Warriors." Talia's lips curled into a sneer as she took out the note Gino had given her.
"Act in groups of three, with each group responsible for one location. You must extract the full list of Court of Owls members."
"Afterward."
Talia licked her alluring red lips and made a throat-slitting gesture with her slender hand: "Kill them all."
"Whoosh!"
The assassins didn't reply, merely lowering their heads in unison. The sound of their armor clashing signaled their acknowledgement of the mission.
"Commence the operation!"
With a wave of Talia's hand, the assassins scattered in groups of three, heading towards various locations across Gotham.
Today was destined to be a day of bloodshed!
