Chapter 84 - Kill His Whole Family

The downpour cascaded from the clouds, pelting Gino's face and trickling down his jaw.

The Talons raised their hands soundlessly, tilting their heads like genuine owls and emitting low "hoo-hoo" sounds.

Inside the manor, Dr. Harleen was frozen in place, utterly stunned by the bizarre scene.

In the rain-swept courtyard, the two sides faced off, a clear line drawn between them.

A group of Talon assassins surrounded Gino, and judging by their numbers, a single blow from each could chop the figure to pieces.

BOOM!

Another clap of thunder echoed from the clouds, followed by a flash of lightning that split the night. The sound was like the signal from a stadium referee.

"Swish!"

A group of Talon assassins sprinted towards Gino.

They worked in perfect coordination, moving with speed and agility.

"Clang!"

The assassins raised their right hands, which were secured with iron gauntlets.

Then.

"Hoo-hoo!"

They emitted sounds like an owl's call, their sharp blades attacking the figure from all sides.

"Oh my God!"

Harleen inside the house widened her eyes, trembling as she pulled her phone from her pocket, intending to call the police.

The blades pierced through the raindrops, leaving beautiful trails in the air as they slashed toward Gino.

"Clang!"

A sound like metal colliding exploded in the rainy night.

Harleen rubbed her eyes, convinced she hadn't seen wrong. The Talons' claws had sparked against Gino's body.

The assassins failed to kill with their first strike, and leaped back nimbly. Taking advantage of the distance, they threw their throwing knives at Gino.

A throwing knife sliced through the rain, aimed at the steel figure.

"Throwing things around isn't very neighborly in Gotham, is it?"

The downpour intensified. Gino didn't want to stand in the rain any longer; although it looked cool, the feeling of wet clothes wasn't pleasant.

Gino merely shifted slightly, and in the next instant, his hands were filled with a stack of sharp throwing knives.

Inside the building, Harleen was even more doubtful of her eyes. The throwing knives that the assassins had thrown seemed to magically appear in Gino's hands.

And judging by the way he nonchalantly held a handful of knives, he didn't seem to fear his palms being cut.

The assassins seemed surprised by this strange sight, but they didn't hesitate. They drew their katanas and silently launched a second wave of attacks.

"Let's see, who to kill first."

Gino watched the Talons swarming towards him. He picked up a throwing knife and aimed at the closest assassin.

"Swish!"

Gino flicked the knife out.

The next instant.

"BOOM!"

A sound like a torpedo exploding in the water erupted in the rain. The thrown knife burst through the downpour, its terrifying impact piercing a Talon's head.

Fueled by immense power, Gino had turned the throwing knife into a Barrett bullet, blowing the Talon assassin's head into a cloud of meat and gore.

"Swish, swish, swish!"

Gino kept throwing the knives in his hands. All he had to do was aim, flick his wrist slightly, and the knives would become precise bullets, blowing the Talon assassins' heads apart.

Some of the assassins tried to block with their blades, but the result was the same: the knives shattered against the katana, and the resulting metal fragments peppered the Talon assassins' faces.

Inside the assassins' manor.

As Gino's supply of knives dwindled, the Talon assassins charging at him fell one by one.

Without a doubt, it was a one-sided slaughter.

These Talon assassins had no idea what kind of opponent they were facing.

And inside the manor.

Brain matter mixed with rainwater dripped onto the grass. Harleen witnessed this bloody and violent scene firsthand. She should have been utterly terrified.

But, for some reason, a different emotion was growing within the girl's heart.

She rubbed her legs, her breathing quickening, and stared intently at the tall figure silhouetted against the night.

"Ah~"

Harleen let out a soft moan, and it seemed another personality in her mind was screaming for her to follow him.

"He…he actually did it."

An elderly voice sounded not far from Harleen, and Loren, his hair white, looked as if he had seen a ghost.

He looked at the headless corpses on the ground. The old man knew how terrifying these Talon assassins were, a group of emotionless human weapons, highly skilled assassins, considered the Court of Owls' trump card, now all dead in Elliot Manor.

Loren's breathing was heavy. He now wanted nothing more than to rush to Gino, urging him to hurry to the Court of Owls and seize those precious treasures.

He had never expected that the boy outside the window would actually do what he said.

Gino didn't know, nor did he care, about the emotions of the two people in the room. He walked towards the Talon who lay dead, his face still covered in steel fragments.

The boy reached down and pulled off the man's mask, revealing a pale, bloated face.

It seemed he had taken some sort of mysterious drug; the man's veins were a deep purple, as if he had been poisoned.

It appeared the Court of Owls' methods for training Talon assassins were not only secret but also brutal.

However, this didn't surprise Gino. For these old Gothamites, human life was the cheapest thing there was.

"Swish, swish."

Loren, holding an umbrella, shakily walked behind Gino.

Rain beat against the umbrella as Loren looked up at Gino's back.

"What are you planning to do next?"

Gino looked up at the rain falling from the sky, watching the water droplets hit his hand.

Loren heard Gino's voice, "Write a list of everything you know and give it to me."

"The Court of Owls should change its name, too."

"Understood."

Loren nodded. He didn't know the location where those guys gathered, but he was familiar with many of the members.

After witnessing the power this young man possessed, Loren chose to offer Gino everything he knew.

Loren, supported by a butler who had rushed over, entered the manor.

Gino pulled out his phone and sent a message to "Talia" in his contacts.

"Tomorrow at nine, come to Elliot Manor in Gotham."

"Bring your subordinates."

Within seconds of sending the message, Gino received a reply, acknowledging receipt and asking how many members of the League of Assassins were needed.

Gino edited his message and sent it: "As many as you have, I need them all."

He was, after all, a generous man, and the Court of Owls members numbered at least dozens.

Adding their families and friends, there were hundreds of people in total. Killing them all and seizing their wealth would take some effort.

After all, Gino was a kind-hearted man and couldn't stand the sight of blood. He planned to have a wave of the Black Glove do the dirty work, and in passing, stir up the waters, keeping Mr. Bruce Wayne busy for a while.

Gino smiled faintly. "I'm looking forward to seeing the expressions on those Court of Owls members' faces when they find out all their Talon assassins are dead. I'm sure it will be quite a show."
