Inside the campus.
"What do you think about this?"
Chloe looked at Gino.
"The same as you," Gino said, narrowing his eyes. "A girl who weighed over a hundred kilograms suddenly lost a lot of weight overnight?"
Excluding the possibility of liposuction, the other person was likely affected by kryptonite and gained some kind of strange ability.
Clark didn't think it was strange at all. "Uh, maybe you guys are overthinking it? That girl just took some diet pills."
"It's like how you attribute all the strange events in town to the meteor shower."
Chloe frowned, disagreeing. "My theory has a basis! It's a very interesting theory, but you guys just don't want to believe it."
Most people thought her claims were ridiculous, which angered Chloe.
"I think her theory is interesting," Gino said, hands in his pockets, eyes glancing at Clark. "Do you remember where you were during the meteor shower?"
Clark lowered his head, pursing his lips and shaking his head. "I don't know. My parents hadn't adopted me when the meteor shower happened."
Gino clapped his hands and laughed. "I remember that very clearly."
"On the day of the meteor strike, Lex and I were in town with my father."
"The first meteor hit near Lex and me. He lost all his hair because of the impact."
Clark pursed his lips. Could his arrival really have caused these tragedies?
Then, Clark looked at Gino's arm. Perhaps Gino's strength was also a result of the meteor? "So..."
Gino offered his assessment, "There's definitely something off about Julie."
"Hey, I think she's hot!" Pete grumbled. He'd finally found a dance partner, but his friends were convinced she was a "monster."
"My personal advice, Pete," Gino said, glancing at the little black cat, "It's best to keep your distance from that girl."
"Hey, there you are!?"
Not far off, the girl named Julie spotted the four of them. Her eyes lit up, and she started running towards them, but then immediately clutched her stomach, a look of pain on her face.
However, the pain seemed to last only a second. The girl's face regained its smile, and she walked towards the four of them – or rather, towards Pete.
Gino's gaze swept over Julie.
He hadn't heard the girl's name before, but his exceptional memory quickly helped him recall Julie's previous appearance.
That was during a geometry class. Gino had glanced at this chubby girl. At the time, she was stout, her eyes darting around, and she was full of self-doubt and fear.
His gaze fell on the girl's face, which wasn't fat or thin, and her slightly plump thighs. This further confirmed Gino's judgment.
"Gino."
Clark approached his friend discreetly and whispered in Gino's ear, "Do you think she'll be like Grey?"
Clearly, Clark, who had suffered a few losses, had matured and no longer saw society and people's psychology as idyllic as in fairy tales.
Gino patted Clark on the shoulder. "Be prepared, Clark."
Julie didn't notice Gino's meaningful expression. She just looked at Pete, the little black-skinned boy, with excitement, holding her little hand. "Do you have time at noon? I want you to accompany me to choose a dress!"
"A, a dress?" The little black boy's eyes scanned the girl's prominent chest, and he swallowed his saliva without hesitation, agreeing, "Of course, I'm at your service."
Pete's performance made Julie giggle, "Let's go!"
The girl led Pete away, and the two of them walked out of the campus, chatting and laughing.
"Gino, we should stop her!" Clark was a little anxious. Pete was his friend, and he didn't want his friend to become a dry corpse.
"I've already advised him." Gino shrugged, his expression indifferent. "But the little black prince doesn't seem to want us involved in this matter."
"So..." Gino patted Clark on the shoulder and said, "The best way is not to meddle in other people's business." Respecting others' fate and letting go of the urge to help. Hmm, that's right.
"But..."
Clark wanted to say something more, but Gino had already left with Chloe.
"I have to go take a look." Clark lifted his leg, intending to follow Pete and protect his friend's life.
But, another voice sounded from behind: "Clark, where did you run off to?"
It was Lana's voice!
Clark's eyes lit up, and he subtly retracted the leg he had already started to move.
He turned around to see Lana, wearing a pink short-sleeved shirt and black sweatpants, hands on her hips, glaring at Clark with dissatisfaction: "Clark, we agreed to go to my place at noon to help me pick out a dress. You didn't forget, did you?"
As she spoke, Lana tugged at her ponytail and asked, "What hairstyle should I wear to the ball?"
"I think," Clark said with a firm gaze and a smile, "I can give you some advice."
Clark patted his chest and said, "I often watch my father help my mother choose hairstyles at home. I have some experience in this area!"
Hmm, what about Pete?
Clark comforted himself, thinking that the girl liked Pete so much, there shouldn't be any problems.
The town dress shop.
Pete followed Julie into the shop with great enthusiasm.
Because of the dance, many high school students could also be seen here, choosing their outfits for the evening.
"Which one do you think looks better on me?"
Julie led Pete through the dazzling array of dresses.
Pete thought for a moment, then gave a perfect answer: "Uh, you look beautiful in all of them!"
"I need the one that suits me best," Julie said with a smile, obviously happy with Pete's compliment.
Pete scratched his cheek and glanced at the clothes rack, pointing at a sexy red dress. "Well, why not try red?"
The girl followed Pete's finger and looked at the long red dress. She was filled with emotion. She used to only be able to look up at these beautiful dresses, but now she could wear them.
"Wait for me here."
Julie gently brushed Pete's lips with her finger, and then turned and winked at him as she left. She carried the red dress towards the fitting room.
She went around the corner, passing through the bustling crowd.
"Grrr!"
A strong feeling of hunger came from her stomach again, and Julie couldn't help but clutch her abdomen.
"Wow, who's this?"
A man's voice sounded overhead. Julie struggled to lift her head and saw that it was the guy who'd mocked her on the sports field yesterday.
A vicious thought flashed in Julie's mind.
The young man didn't notice the deep hatred in the girl's eyes. His wet, lascivious gaze swept over Julie's body. "I didn't expect you to have lost so much weight. It's astonishing."
"Heh, what a coincidence." Julie immediately suppressed the hunger in her stomach and struck a perfect pose. She gently waved the red dress in her hand and stared at the boy. "Do you want a closer look at me wearing this dress?"
