Chapter 6 - Other World Logs 1 Part 4

Author's Note: I am not an editor or a pro writer. I will write this the best I can and edit it the best I can. I also do not own Uma Musume, for it is owned by Cygames. Watch the animes, and read the mangas for they are pretty good. Finally, please enjoy.

Great Wonder POV:

We were assigned to visit teams and organizations that Gray has researched. I had grown up in a very rich family, and unlike the new money families that just spoil their children rotten, I was trained from a young age to deal with business partners and connections in order to secure our family's benefits and favorable deals, and also gain more in order for the family to become richer. That's why as I expected, some of these organizations and teams we had visited were either so poor they barely had any way to meet our demands or so sketchy they're borderline criminal. I had seen everything about business dealings ever since I was a naive child to an experienced adult, working hard everyday to improve myself and my family's riches. Still, I had hobbies to distract me from my usual family affairs, the usual high-class education I received, and the constant business dealings.

I went into athletics, from self-defense classes, to dancing, to weapons training, to even sports, my main interest was in running sports though. I did cross country and then track, soon losing interest until I discovered the relay, where we had to work together to achieve victory, it was truly a grand and fun event I experienced with my friends. Soon, I graduated and left that happy world and got married to my very busy husband. We had children, but I still kept in shape for my health, and still I felt unfulfilled in life, and that's when I got involved in a small marathon held by a friend. I soon knew I loved the community, the running, and the fanfare around it, and I soon dove head first into it hard.

I went to every marathon I could, and helped out in others, I even held some myself, and soon I became known as Momma Marathon. Plus, I was really good thanks to my athletic background, which I never let slip away. Now, back to the present, once I heard about freestyle racing and it having relays, long-distance marathon flats, and a combination of both, I was very interested, and began researching on my own. I saw it was still very small in this country we're in, and I expected these teams and organizations to be either sketchy or poor, which I guessed correctly. I soon rejected every place after a thorough inspection of each place, and told Vic and Gray why I did so after every visit.

Still, there were a tiny bit, that weren't either, but as soon as they heard our demands, they politely backed out. They wanted to control everything about us, or even told us they had no expectations for us. We were on the borderline of creating a team ourselves, but Rose soon suggested meeting teams in the middle and allowing them some control, because if we're going to work with others, we have to not only help ourselves, but them as well. We all soon realized we were being selfish, and she was right, but we still wanted some creative freedom, some strategic control, and musical performances. With that new mindset, we began searching for new organizations and teams that have more flexibility and that we can make big ourselves.

That's when I realized, why don't we just find a sports agency with connections to the Free Style Running League, and after suggesting that very idea, we began doing so. We soon found a small agency that did just that after a bunch of research, and it was run by one agent and her hired assistants to help out. We talked with her, and surprisingly, she looked like an older version of Seeking the Pearl. We learned after asking questions specific to our world that she didn't have past life memories and she wasn't an Uma Musume, she just looked like Seeking the Pearl. She agreed to meet with us for a meeting, and during it, she mentioned that the only things she wanted were to meet the rest of the team and test how good we are on the track.

She and Rose had a very good conversation, which led to us scheduling the team check the next day. We all met on a public track, where earlier Rose convinced the groundskeeper and city hall to let us book for a tryout. People were actually watching us run, and were in awe at our running by the time we were done, especially the agent herself. At first, she only introduced herself to Rose, and after the run, she gathered us all together and introduced herself, saying," Hello, everyone, I am Ayana Hiraga. I believe all of you are very talented individuals and am glad to have met all of you, please treat me well, for I will do what I can to represent you all."

We all applauded, and soon everyone was introducing themselves to her, especially me. She was shocked by some of our eccentric types, but kept herself civil. She then introduced some expert trainers to help us train after signing contracts that Gray, Vic and I checked, and Rose and I negotiated through with her. There were trainers to help us train our new bodies, dietitians to help us adjust our diets to it as well, and other teachers while we waited for our new agent to find us a team. The people assigned to us were way too busy with other recruits as well, plus some weren't the best, as once we learned the limit of what they knew, there wasn't anything else to learn.

That's why it was a good thing Ayana came with news on finding a team to work with us. Once we learned the details, though it became weirder, a fashion brand wanted to start a team to compete in Freestyle Racing internationally. Even though it's true that the sport is more popular outside Japan, it was weird for a Japanese company to want to become popular internationally first before locally, but seeing them agree to all our demands and fund everything, we had to meet them ourselves and see the situation for ourselves. Rose, Vic, Mama, Gray and I went with Ayana, as the rest of the team stayed in an Air B&B nearby, as this was in a different city compared to the large town we arrived in. We soon went to visit the headquarters of Dark Wear Fashion.
