"Arlena, the Alpha's orders~" Athenya began, but before she could finish her warning, Alpha Lucien moved with lightning speed, seized Arlena's right arm, and shoved her aside with force.
"This is my pack," he growled, glaring at the stunned Arlena. "And every command I give is undebatable. When you're in your pack, do as you see fit."
Arlena stared at him in disbelief, frozen in place. She couldn't believe Alpha Lucien had attacked her for Valessia.
"You attacked me… for a wolfless, cursed being like her?" she whispered, almost in denial.
Alpha Lucien didn't respond. Instead, he reached down and gently helped the sobbing Valessia to her feet.
"Arlena is your mate, the only one destined for you. She should be the one you protect, not someone like her! You're going against the natural order of the wolf, Lucien," Rhode Axen growled, rising from his seat, his voice low but seething.
