Varek immediately looked away the moment Lucien's sharp gaze flicked in his direction, as if the Alpha could read the thoughts swirling in his mind.
"You can go home now," Lucien said, voice steady but distant. "If you encounter any issues during your daughter's transfer process, reach out to Varek."
"Yes, Alpha," Zara replied, fidgeting with her nails. She wanted desperately to express her gratitude for sponsoring her daughter to one of the elite schools in the pack but since he had framed it as punishment, she knew better than to show appreciation.

"I'll take my leave now." She bowed, pushed the door open, and climbed out, closing it gently behind her.
"Let's go," Lucien ordered the moment the door clicked shut.
As soon as Lucien's car disappeared into the distance, Zara's restraint crumbled. Her once tightly held back excitement burst free as she leapt with joy.
