Chapter 34 - Fighting out of town

We manage to get out of town. Aurelia is still holding me, and I am pissed off to levels I never believed possible.

She turns around after turning a good distance from the entrance and faces our hunter.

"As you ordered, out of town!"

"Put me down, you lunatic!"

"Done!" She lets me fall to the ground.

"Ugh! I swear..."

The binds are still around me, so I cannot exactly get up with ease.

"This is not your day," Karina says.

"Don't you say?!" I am extremely done with these two.

"Well, see the good side. Aurelia has a good chance against this guy."

For what it's worth, Karina seems capable of measuring people's powers. Maybe she can see souls and measure them. I remember her noticing when my soul mixed with Amber's and managing to see Kathrina's.

I will have to discuss something with her that doesn't add up. I need every detail of her power, as it can be a good way to measure my chances against an enemy. Aurelia seems much more versed in combat and can do it just by looking at her opponent, for what I can tell. She knew I could take on that adventurer on the roof while she immediately stopped this man from attacking me.

"You are strong but severely stupid." Aurelia says to the man, "You almost got people killed there."

The man starts to laugh.

"You are just trying to confuse me, vile beast!"

You know, I preferred the last adventurer; bring him back. He was easier to manage.

"Okay, asshole, what is your name?" Aurelia points her finger at him.

"It is improper to ask someone's name without presenting first... But I will give you the courtesy: I am Gunther of the Redjaw House! Now, state your name, dragon!"

"Aurelia, Tyrant of the Deep, leader of the North Lamp Clan... I am crushing your skull if you don't leave us in peace!"

He is from an influential family, for what it seems.

The binds around me dissipate, leaving a faint golden light. My first act with my newfound freedom is to get up and take Bloodless in my hands, pointing the blade at him.

"Look, pal, all I want now is to leave and be on my way to the woods on my back, so if we can leave this here, I would appreciate it."

"You know I cannot do this, Amber! It is for justice for the sweet Princess Orianna!"

Ugh... To think I used to be one of these guys, my first year of college. I cannot say I am cleaning myself with what has transpired these last couple of days, but he is just singing praises to her.

"Listen, jabroni!" Aurelia starts to advance towards him, taking a wide swing of her weapon in the air. "We cannot deal with your shit right now! So if you just remove your sorry ass from..."

She gets interrupted when Gunther responds with an attack of his claymore. She answers with a proper defense with the shaft of her scythe. They exchange blows, all aimed at hitting the body of the other, but being stopped by the other's blade.

"At this point is a dick measurement competition..." Karina complains.

They both jump back to take distance.

This is my chance!

I start to cast ice spells on the ground, freezing the snow and grass to a complete solid state in the battlefield, focused on where Gunther is about to land.

He notices and attempts to control his fall.

"These tricks don't work on me!"

He yells and then stomps the frozen ground when he falls, reaching dry dirt as his landing leaves a very small crater.

Aurelia takes the chance that his body is lower and lunges at him while swinging her weapon downwards, aiming the tip at the top of his skull. But he manages to put his sword in the way of the attack.

Aurelia pushes forward.

"GAAAAAH!" She screams her lungs out as she adds more weight to the attack.

Gunther's eyes go wide at the sudden increase of strength she showcased, but all she manages to do is push him further down into the dirt without actually hurting him, making the crater a bit bigger.

Taking advantage of the lock they are in, I cast Ice Bolt several times at him. Aurelia keeps the pressure by swinging her weapon downwards at him with rage-filled speed and aggression, keeping him pinned and forcing him into having to defend from her hits.

Each element has its own set of advantages. I cannot do much damage to him, but many effects will apply even at lower levels if you can hit targets. And Ice has the chance of reducing resistances. One [Ice Bolt] was not as strong as [Oghdir' Ice Fall], but if you stack it enough, it can be as good or better.

[Gunther is bsrely scratched(-780)!

Gunther is barely scratched(-764)!

Gunther's resistance is lowered!

Gunther is barely scratched (-830)!]

Gunther looks at me when he receives the first attack and maybe notices what I am trying to do. He attempts to stand up, but Aurelia is wailing on him, forcing him to fall on his knees.

"Yeah, kneel before the Tyrant Queen of the Deeps! Gahahahahahaha!" She screams

and laughs like a maniac.

"Gah!" Gunther screams, and a burst of holy golden energy pulses out of him with force enough to push Aurelia back.

Seeing himself free, he lunges towards me with a swing of his sword!

He is getting close.

I just smirk.

Because he just gave Aurelia an opening.

She managed to reach him in time before I got damaged. He scythe reaches by his torso, and she throws him with the blade piercing at his stomach.

He is thrown a few meters back and falls to his left knee once more. He complains of the pain, but he still has a bit more HP to spare in combat.

"You are stronger than you seem, dragon woman! I came here to finally have a showdown with Amber, and you piqued my interest!"

He gets ready to lunge once more.

"Don't blame me for using my ultimate technique on you...!"

CRASH!

Something breaks, and a shattering noise of glass breaking can be heard. Several shards fall on Gunther's head, accompanied by a liquid.

He turns around, his head drenched in the substance.

"Who dares attack me... in the.. back..." His words start to drag, slurry, and lose balance... until he falls to the ground. "Zzzzzzzzz..."

"H-he is asleep?" I question, seeing him in the ground and snoring.

Behind him was the adventurer from earlier, holding the neck of what used to be a potion bottle.

"Serves him right." He says.
