Chapter 29 - the truth

"I've seen foolish people in my life, but never anyone as idiotic as these ones."

"These humans are actually welcoming the Black Order to their planet! Odin has lived a long life, but he's never seen such audacity before."

Even some viewers across the universe sighed in amazement, astonished by the courage of such a civilization.

"Could it be that a human race is bold enough to welcome the Black Order into their society?"

"Or is their planet truly overpopulated?"

But upon reflection, it wasn't so surprising. Nearly half of the strongest cosmic organizations already belonged to this human civilization. Naturally, they would be this daring.

"That makes sense. This civilization called 'humans' is truly terrifying. Despite their technological backwardness, they've managed to produce a vast number of powerful beings... and they're incredibly brave."

"Right. We humans are incredible. Our civilization may be behind, but we're courageous and capable of producing all kinds of strong individuals."

"One day, I'd like to visit this planet and see what it really looks like. I can't believe there are civilizations that dare stand against the Black Order."

"I don't think the humans are truly welcoming the Black Order... I believe it's just provocation toward Thanos. He's simply too powerful to be stopped."

President Walker glanced at the Ancient One and Isaac LeClerk, who had remained silent in the chatroom, and then smiled with satisfaction.

This time, victory belonged to America and all of humanity!

These two mysterious ones had bowed to the will of the people!

Meanwhile, Pierce, lying in his hospital bed, felt a deep sense of pride.

"And what of those two mysterious ones? In the face of humanity's will, they are powerless."

Even Nick Fury couldn't suppress his emotions. As long as humans are united, they can overcome any hardship.

Then the Marvel List began presenting essential information about the Black Order, followed by video footage related to them.

It started with a scene of a thriving, peaceful civilization, which quickly shifted to an image of Chitauri forces launching an invasion.

It didn't take two days before that civilization was completely wiped out, marking what was called "salvation."

A merciless massacre with no principle—half of the civilization's population was slaughtered. Then Thanos left with the Black Order, and the same scenario began repeating itself in other civilizations.

Anyone watching the footage might not fully grasp the extent of the Black Order's crimes, but they would witness one civilization after another falling and being annihilated methodically.

Every massacre followed the same pattern: wiping out only half of the population.

As the scenes kept shifting, glimpses of the future began to appear.

One day, a wormhole opens in the sky above New York, and waves of Chitauri forces begin pouring through, then suddenly the scene changes.

Even though the video wasn't completed, everyone who watched it understood that humanity's fate would inevitably end in a similar massacre.

After all, humanity's development is far weaker than those previously annihilated civilizations.

The scene changed again, showing a dim spacecraft where Corvus Glaive stabbed a Black man lying on the floor to death, while Ebony Maw praised the greatness and "mercy" of Thanos.

Anyone from Asgard watching the footage would immediately recognize that man:

It was Heimdall, the gatekeeper and overseer of the Nine Realms.

Then came the most crucial scene: Thanos' snap.

With a flick of his fingers, he "saved" the universe by erasing half its population.

When the broadcast ended, silence blanketed the crowd—there was nothing more to say.

Despair began to creep into people's hearts, especially those in New York, who were seriously considering leaving… even emigrating elsewhere.

[Isaac LeClerc: @Walker, @Nick Fury, @Pierce, let's not forget that the Black Order was invited by your wise president and the leader of your human shield. You are the real contributors to this so-called "salvation." Congratulations to you all!]

President Walker: "..."

Nick Fury: "..."

Pierce: "..."

"Half the universe… exterminated!"

Nick Fury was boiling with rage, veins bulging on his forehead.

"Is that what you call salvation?!"

[President Walker: @Isaac LeClerk! Enough nonsense! If you don't stop, I'll sue you for defamation! Look at him! He's tarnishing my reputation!]

[Pierce: Ah… this is just a misunderstanding! We didn't know that "salvation" meant this kind of hell.]

[Thor: @Father Odin! Did you see that? That purple potato monster killed Heimdall! I must avenge him! Let me return to Asgard—it needs me!]

[Loki: You fool of a brother, stop dreaming. That's just a scene from the future. Now that we know about it, we can prepare. There's no need for your return.]

[Thor: Why, brother? Why won't you support me?]

[Loki: I'm simply following our father's orders.]

[Nick Fury: Loki is right. This is just one possible future, not an unchangeable fate. We can definitely change it!]
