Chapter 32 - A Sister's Care

"There is no need to get angry, Ruan Zeqiu," the woman sneered with a hint of coldness on her face. "This is the rule of the tribe. If you don't join the hunt, then you don't get to eat. There is no point in causing a ruckus—we are just following the rules." She then raised her shoulder and proactively said to Ruan Zeqiu, "Don't tell me that you are going to fight us even though we are just following the rules?"

Ruan Zeqiu glared at the beast woman. Though he wanted to fight this bunch of idiots, he had to admit that they were right.

"Fine!" Ruan Zeqiu stewed in anger for a while before turning around on his feet and marching away. He didn't look behind the laughing crowd and walked over to Ruan Chanchan and said to her, "Let's go, sister."

Ruan Chanchan looked at the laughing crowd silently. She didn't like how these grown-up women were making things difficult for a child. If not for her identity as the fool of the tribe, she would have quarrelled with them, but right now was not the time. As a 'sick' person, she needed to take her time before getting better.

But she had noted down their appearance in her heart. One day, she would make these women beg her and Ruan Zeqiu!

With anger brimming in her heart, she turned around on her feet and headed after Ruan Zeqiu.

Once they arrived at the cave, Ruan Zeqiu sat down on the floor with an angry and dissatisfied look on his face. Ruan Chanchan knew that this was due to Ruan Zeqiu being a beastman. He needed a lot of food to supplement his health and strength. Unlike her, who would feel full after eating just a single flame fruit, Ruan Zeqiu was different.

If he didn't eat a large chunk of meat, she was worried that he would end up getting weak. Even the big and small scars wouldn't heal if he didn't eat his fill and slept on an empty stomach.

Not to mention, he had to go hunting tomorrow. If he went to hunt on an empty stomach, what would happen to him? He might even feel faint, which would inevitably lead to an accident!

Ruan Chanchan couldn't let that happen. Not only because she knew that the only reason she could stay in the tribe was Ruan Zeqiu, but also because she took the mer as her family. She couldn't allow him to get into an accident.

She pursed her lips and then turned around on her feet.

When Ruan Zeqiu saw that his sister was walking out of the cave, he wanted to stop her, but after some thought, he didn't. His sister was getting better slowly; what if his constant restraint caused the opposite effect?

"I will wait for half an hour… if she comes back on her own, then I will not go after her," muttered Ruan Zeqiu. Anyway, even if his sister was a fool, she was not stupid; she knew that the tribe was safe and the surroundings outside the tribe were not safe. Thus, she would never leave the tribe. "However, will she be fine? She should be… she will be."

On the other hand, Ruan Chanchan had no idea that Ruan Zeqiu was losing his mind just because she stepped out of the cave for a minute. Honestly, she had no idea what to do. Even though she had a lot of food in her space, she couldn't use it for the time being.

Because all the food that she had in her hand at that moment was instant!

How was she supposed to cook instant noodles and feed them to Ruan Zeqiu? That mer would certainly lose his mind if she pulled something so weird.

"How about trying to help someone?" Xiao Xi innocently suggested, and Ruan Chanchan curled her lips in a sneer. "Help someone? Do you think anyone in this tribe would take help from a fool?"

Ruan Chanchan knew her worth in the tribe very well. In the eyes of other tribe members, she was like a pet that Ruan Zeqiu was raising, and that was the only reason they were being so polite to her – because they didn't want to earn Ruan Zeqiu's wrath.

If not for Ruan Zeqiu, Ruan Chanchan was sure that she would have been killed by the tribe members for being so useless.

How could they even accept her? Much less agree to let her help them?

She needed to do things slowly. One thing at a time.

But that brought her back to the main topic. How should she get food for her brother?

Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and crossed her arms in front. Her eyes flickered as she raised her head and looked around, her eyes falling on the familiar mer who had snatched her ramen the last time she had cooked.

Her eyes zeroed in on the mer, and then they zeroed in on the large chunks of meat that he was carrying. She didn't know how much a mer needed to eat, but she was quite clear that this one didn't need so much meat.

Without even thinking about it, she rushed to where the mer was.

Xie Daiyu, at that moment, was quite annoyed. With the meat that was given to him tied on his back and holding the rest in his hands, he walked up to the cave where he lived with his family.

At the same time, he could hear the chatter of the woman beside him.

"How about it? Xie Daiyu, think about it a little. Now that Shao Xia has refused to mate with you... You are single. Don't you want to give birth to a litter of bear cubs? I heard from Shao Xia that you were looking forward to having pups."

Xie Daiyu sighed and turned to look at the woman who was chirping in his ears without a break. He pursed his lips and said to her, "Yun Fu, how many times do I have to tell you? I am not interested. I don't want to mate with any woman—especially with a warrior, do you understand?"

Oh, only if he knew!
