It was lunchtime. Adrian was pushing Elsa's wheelchair out of the classroom, heading for the cafeteria. But then, "Thump!" Elsa's wheelchair bumped into someone passing by. Adrian and Elsa froze. The person they'd bumped into was Dr. Kelvin, who was looking at them and smiling.
"Oh, Adrian, Elsa, how are you two doing ?" Kelvin asked.
"Dr. Kelvin? Are you in Jakarta?" Adrian asked.
"Yeah, I have some business with Grace. Oh, if I'm not mistaken, it has something to do with you two," Kelvin replied.
"Oh, what kind of business, Doctor?" Elsa asked.
"Grace and her husband want to transfer their child's school to Singapore. I don't know the exact problem yet, but your names came up yesterday when she called. I figured I'd come here anyway since I'm in Jakarta for three days visiting my mother," Kelvin explained.
"Oh, is your mother from Jakarta, Doctor?" Adrian asked.
"Yes, my whole family is here. I'm the only one in Singapore because of work and marriage. By the way, your hearts are okay, right?" Kelvin asked.
"So far, no problems, Doctor," Adrian replied.
"Good, I'm glad to see you two getting along. Alright, I'll get going now," Kelvin said, excusing himself.
"Okay, Doctor, thank you," Elsa replied.
Kelvin walked away. Adrian and Elsa watched him get further and further from their classroom.
"Thinking about it?" Elsa asked.
"Nope," Adrian replied.
"He wasn't lying, so Vero really is moving. That's good," Elsa said.
"Hehe, yeah, one less problem. Let's go to the cafeteria," Adrian replied.
"Okay, let's go," Elsa said.
They walked back towards the cafeteria. As they turned to enter the cafeteria area, suddenly, "You two better not try anything!" a girl shouted.
In front of Adrian and Elsa, a large crowd of students had gathered. Adrian, who could see through things, looked straight ahead. It turned out the one who had just shouted was Vero, and in front of her was a chubby, large senior student. Behind him were three more senior students who seemed to be his friends. The chubby senior's face looked annoying, and he seemed to be trying to flirt with Vero.
"Ugh, him again. We just talked about him. That chubby senior, Fendi, looks angry at Vero for cutting him off and making a scene. I can hear it from here," Elsa whispered.
"Yep, I saw it too. Let's just leave," Adrian replied.
"Yeah, I'm not in the mood," Elsa added.
Adrian turned Elsa's wheelchair around, but "Rip!" something ripped. "Kyaaaaa....what are you doing?!" Vero screamed. Adrian immediately turned around. He saw Fendi, with an annoying smile, pulling Vero's shirt until it ripped. "Tap!" Adrian stopped. Elsa also turned to look at Adrian.
"Gonna help her?" Elsa asked.
"Well, ripping someone's shirt is too much, right?" Adrian replied.
"Okay, help her," Elsa said.
Adrian turned Elsa's wheelchair back around and pushed it through the crowd until they reached the front. Vero turned to look at them, her face already on the verge of tears.
"Go on, I'll wait here," Elsa said.
"Okay," Adrian replied.
The senior named Fendi stretched his hand towards Vero's face. Vero had both hands covering her chest, which was slightly exposed because her uniform was torn. "Tap!" Fendi's hand was caught by Adrian. Adrian then turned to look at Vero, who was stunned.
"Go to Elsa, quick!" Adrian said.
"Y-yeah," Vero replied.
Vero immediately ran towards Elsa and stood behind her, hiding behind Elsa, who had her arms crossed over her chest and was sitting in her wheelchair.
"Hey, don't run away! (He turned to Adrian) Who are you? What do you want? Why are you meddling in my business?" Fendi shouted.
"Well, you ripped her uniform, so of course I'm meddling!" Adrian shot back.
"Let go of me! It's all her fault! Who told her to reject me? Besides, you're a tenth grader, aren't you? Don't be so arrogant!" Fendi yelled.
"Okay, bro, you're a twelfth grader, right? You want her face, her body, her mom, hahaha," Adrian said, reading Fendi's thoughts.
"Hey, why are you guys just standing there?" Fendi shouted at his friends.
"I-I can't move," one of his friends stammered.
Adrian turned to look at Elsa, who had raised her finger and was smiling calmly. Adrian smiled, then turned back to Fendi.
"Had enough? Still want to continue? If you do, not here," Adrian said.
"You just wait! After school, behind the building! Don't you dare run away, or I'll take your girlfriend in the wheelchair!" Fendi threatened.
[That girl's pretty too. It's okay if she's crippled, just for fun.] Fendi's thoughts.
Adrian's face instantly changed and turned red. Elsa, who was sitting a bit further away, was shocked and heard what Fendi said.
"Oh, no," Elsa muttered, putting her hand to her face.
"Crash!" Fendi's large body suddenly flew through the air and crashed into a cafeteria table. "Kyaaaaa!" screamed the female students who were near the table and watching.
"Sorry, I changed my mind. You're die here," Adrian said.
"Are you crazy... aah... it... it hurts, my leg... my leg... my hand..." Fendi moaned in pain as he tried to move his arms and legs.
"Wow, broken, huh? Not dead yet, are you? Now you die," Adrian said, raising his fist.
"Hey, what's going on here?!"
A teacher arrived and immediately pulled Adrian back. He then subdued Adrian, who passively allowed himself to be held by the teacher. Adrian turned his head.
"After school, I'm waiting for all of you! Don't you dare not show up, or I'll mess up your class!" Adrian shouted.
"That's enough... Come on, to the teacher's office," the teacher replied.
"Oh dear... why is it like this again?" Elsa sighed, turning her wheelchair and following Adrian, who was being taken to the teacher's office.
Vero, seeing Adrian being led away by the teacher with his hands folded behind his back, and Elsa pushing her wheelchair after Adrian, turned around and finally followed them. Upon reaching the teacher's office, the teacher, Mr. Dewo, immediately took Adrian inside, followed by Elsa.
After they sat down, "Oh, how did it get like this? What did you do to him? What if he's seriously injured? That's dangerous, do you understand?" Mr. Dewo asked.
"His hand is already broken, sir. His leg is just sprained," Adrian replied calmly.
"Oh, you... just a moment," Mr. Dewo replied.
Mr. Dewo opened the office door and immediately told some other teachers to go to the cafeteria and check on the fallen student. Two young teachers immediately ran out of the office.
"You shouldn't do things like that. Settle problems peacefully, don't fight. Tell me, what's the problem?" Mr. Dewo asked.
When asked about the problem, Adrian and Elsa looked at each other because they had only interfered, but suddenly, "Bang!" the room door opened.
"They're not wrong, Mr. Dewo. That fat guy is the one who's wrong," Vero said, entering.
"Oh, what happened to your shirt?" Mr. Dewo asked, standing up.
"That fat guy tore it earlier. He was defending me," Vero replied, pointing at Adrian.
"Oh, I see. Just a moment," Mr. Dewo stood up and opened a cabinet. He took out a sports uniform and gave it to Vero.
"You go change your clothes first, then come back here," Mr. Dewo said.
"Okay, sir, just a moment," Vero replied, leaving the room again.
Mr. Dewo sat back down, then he pondered for a moment and looked back at Adrian and Elsa in front of him.
"So you were just helping her?" Mr. Dewo asked.
"Yes, sir. We were going to eat at the cafeteria, we happened to see it, and since we know her... it just felt wrong not to help," Elsa answered.
"But why did he throw him like that?" Mr. Dewo asked.
"Ah, that..."
"It was because of me, sir. That person was trying to touch me. He's not wrong, he was just defending me," Elsa said, cutting off Adrian's explanation.
Adrian looked at Elsa next to him. Elsa turned to look at Adrian and smiled, winking.
"Ah, alright, I understand. That student is indeed problematic, he often causes trouble in his class, but I didn't expect him to cause trouble in the cafeteria. But still, next time, you absolutely cannot throw someone and destroy a table, okay?" Mr. Dewo said.
"Yes, sir, I apologize," Adrian replied.
"It's alright, we'll just wait for the explanation of the situation from the foundation head's child," Mr. Dewo said.
"Okay, sir," Adrian replied.
Not long after, Vero, now wearing a sports uniform, came in. She sat in the middle and began to tell her story. Fendi had approached Vero about two days ago and confessed his feelings to her, but Vero rejected him after school near the gate. After that, he seemed to be getting a bit forceful, and fortunately, someone passed by, so she was saved.
The incident in the cafeteria was a consequence of yesterday's events. Fendi suddenly approached Vero, who happened to be in the cafeteria, and immediately cornered her. Vero, scared, screamed, which made other students gather, but no one helped her because they were afraid of Fendi and his friends.
"He even threatened me, sir, he said he wanted to kidnap me and demand a ransom from my mom," Vero said.
"Hmm, I see. Alright, I'll question the person concerned later, and we'll call his parents," Mr. Dewo said.
"Are we done, sir?" Adrian asked.
"Yes. But please, if something like this happens again, please report it to a teacher. Don't be afraid to report it, you all understand, right?" Mr. Dewo replied.
"Yes, sir, thank you," all three replied.
After that, Adrian pushed Elsa out of the room and out of the teacher's office. But just a few steps out,
"Wait!" Vero shouted.
Adrian turned Elsa's wheelchair, and they both watched Vero run towards them. Once she arrived,
"Sorry, you two almost got into trouble because of me," Vero said bluntly.
"It's fine, we're going now," Elsa replied.
"Two days ago... have you met your friends yet?" Vero asked.
Elsa immediately glared at Vero in front of her. She looked furious and angry at Vero for carelessly giving her address to someone else.
"Let me tell you something, never give my address to anyone again, understand?" Elsa said.
"Sorry, Sa, but the ones who helped me yesterday were them. If it weren't for them, I might have been taken by that fat Fendi earlier," Vero said.
Elsa immediately turned to look at Adrian behind her, then they both turned back to look at Vero.
"Tell us what happened," Adrian said.
"Yeah, the guy was the one who chased Fendi away, and then they were about to leave. I felt bad for them, so I invited them to eat first. When I asked them, they said they came from Bandung, and then they said they had a friend who had already gone to Jakarta. Their friend uses a wheelchair and doesn't have legs. I immediately mentioned your name, and it turns out they knew you and even asked how you were doing, so I just gave them your address," Vero explained.
"So you were at school last Saturday?" Adrian asked.
"No, I was supposed to meet my friend outside the school gate, but it turned out I was lied to. That fat guy came instead," Vero replied.
"Ugh, so that's what happened," Adrian said.
"Sorry for just giving out your address, but they looked so happy and enthusiastic when they heard your name," Vero replied.
"Alright then, thanks," Elsa replied.
"Thanks for what?" Vero asked, confused.
"It's fine, don't worry about it. I'm going back to class now," Elsa replied.
"Yeah, sorry," Vero replied.
Adrian turned Elsa's wheelchair and pushed her towards their classroom. "Sniff... sniff... sniff..." Adrian, behind her, could hear Elsa starting to cry. He placed his hand on Elsa's head and stroked her hair, continuing to push her towards the classroom.
