I created a portal that connects this place to the camp on top of the hill. I watch as the woman hesitantly pulls the cart through the portal. I sit in front of the camp and say.
"Who are you? Why did you come to this place? You are not a hunter."
I can smell the fear from her, but I can see her push them back. I found her walking through the forest alone just as the sun went down. I don't see any weapons on her, and she is bringing two corpses with her.
I cannot help but feel interested in her reasoning.
She swallows her saliva and says.
"My name is Miu, and I come here to bury my loved ones. They died, killed by the monsters, and I want to let them be buried in the land where the Gods once lived. I want their souls to rest peacefully."
I look at her for a few seconds and watch her fidgeting under my gaze. You know… I can use this to test my new power. I am an Archmage in Soul Magic, Necromancy, and Healing. These three can let me resurrect her family.
If I cannot do that, I can use the full power of my Planeswalker to brute-force my way to resurrecting her family.
However, it should not be impossible to do that without my Planeswalker power.
First, I need to gather the souls of the deceased, and that is easy. Her family is gathering around her. They are sad, and they know I can see them. Next, I heal the bodies and make sure they are in top condition. I also make sure to keep them in top condition, as dead bodies deteriorate fast.
"What? What are you doing?"
Miu looks at me in confusion and a little bit of hope. I ignore her for now and focus on stitching her family into their bodies. It doesn't take long before I resurrect her family. I hear her daughter and husband cough as oxygen enters their lungs.
I keep my healing magic on them for a little longer and release it when they are good to go.
I watch her hug her family with tears rolling down her face, and I decide to leave them. There are foods in the tent when I summon them. It is a package deal when I summon the camp.
"You can stay here for now. The sun is about to set. I need to take care of those who dare to claim this land as theirs. There are foods inside the tent that you can cook. However, don't cook them outside the tent. It will attract unwanted attention."
I don't know if this is my Dragon's instinct or my planeswalker one, but once I claim the entire region as mine, the sight of monsters claiming this region as their territory makes me slightly angry. I will go on berserk mode or anything, but the anger is there, bubbling underneath my skin.
I stand up and am about to take off. However, before I can fly away, Miu and her family kneel before me.
"Thank you, O Lord God! Thank you for giving me my family back!"
"Thank you!"
"Thank you!"
I look at them, nod, and fly away. There is only one monster that dares to declare this entire region as its territory. I saw it sleeping in Area 12, if we go by the game's map. I fly toward that location and see the giant winged chameleon with an enlarged tail waking up from its sleep.
This is a Chameleos. It is an Elder Dragon, an Elder Dragon with a very potent venom that can kill other monsters with ease. Sadly for it, I have a massive resistance against poison or venom. Also, on a closer look, it is a male Chameleos and by the look of it, there are human cattle in his nest.
I click my tongue, turn to my True Form, and do a nosedive. I break the sound barrier and use that momentum to slam the giant Elder Dragon using my claw. A massive crater forms from the impact, and I can see that a chunk of his scales is gone.
I charge toward him and crash my body into his, throwing him to the hill behind him.
With him getting thrown, I create a barrier around the humans and make sure they are okay.
The Chameleos release a roar of anger and pain, looking at me, and releasing a massive mist of poison. I take a deep breath and a Crimson Demon firebreath. It is a combination of two elements: Fire and Dragon, the two weaknesses of Chameleos.
My attack burns the poison, and I use that to dash toward him. I bite his neck and feel my teeth sink into his flesh without a problem. He tried to push me away and even tried to bite me. Sadly for him, my scales are tougher than his, and I am ready to kill him.
I build up energy from within. The energy pushes through my body and into the bio-cannon on my back. I aim at the Chameleos who try his hardest to run away from me. Sadly for him, I pin him to the ground, and a second later, a rainbow-colored energy fires out of my bio-cannon and pierces through the head of the Chameleos. However, after the energy pierces through his head, it explodes, and guess who is near the explosion. Me.
Lucky for me, I am an Archmage in Shield Magic and able to block most of the explosions. Some of them managed to punch through my shield, but it was not something that could put me down. I cover myself with my healing magic, and I am as good as new.
I shake my body, shaking off the old, damaged scales off my body.
I look toward the nest and see the humans go stiff when they see my gaze on them. I turn to my dragonoid form and walk toward them. I hold back a wince when I see some of them have that emptiness in their eyes when they look at me.
Ah, they're already broken, huh? This will be hard. I might be a master of healing, but I don't think I can heal that kind of trauma. I can heal that mental trauma, but I cannot erase the memory.
Wait. I can do that. Using Blue Mana, I can influence their minds and erase those traumatic memories.
I will pin that for later. For now, I need to take them to the camp. I look down and see their naked bodies and release a sigh.
With a wave of my hand, I create the same clothing Miu uses for them to wear.
"Put them on and follow me."
I wait for them to put on the clothes, the ones that are yet to be broken, help the broken females, and when they are done, I open the portal between here and the camp.
"Follow me."
We walk through the portal, and I can see Miu and her family walk out of the tent.
"Lord God, you've returned—"
She stops when she looks at the people I bring with me. She turns toward me with confusion on her face.
"Chameleos captured them."
And that's enough for her to change her confusion to pity. I wave my hand and heal their bodies. When I am done, I look at Miu and say.
"Take care of them. I will return you all to your home tomorrow."
"I shall do that, Lord God. Thank you for rescuing them, O Lord."
I nod and fly away. Today is a productive day, but I require a nap from all of this.
