RAVENCLAW!!!
As soon as the hat screamed out my house, there was a polite but loud clap from the Ravenclaw table. I was able to see Professor Flitwick wearing a beaming smile and Professor McGonagall with an expression that said she had expected it, though she still wore a small smile. Dumbledore seemed to have a twinkle in his eye, and immediately, Auden looked away to the house table. He knew that twinkle was hiding the fact that Dumbledore was using Legilimency to probe others' thoughts.
He knew he had to study the part of Occlumency where he would be able to detect Legilimency being cast on him—at least by the night.
He was welcomed at the Ravenclaw table, where he greeted his seniors and waited for the sorting ceremony to continue.
As he watched, Colin Creevey and Ginny Weasley were added to Gryffindor, while Luna was added to Ravenclaw by the Sorting Hat. He smiled at the fact that he already had a friend in the house.
After the sorting was over, Dumbledore stood up.
"Welcome, welcome all to a new year at Hogwarts. It is nice to see so many new students."
His eyes then moved toward every student, but Auden turned his eyes to the food before they could meet.
"Well, there is a time for speech-making, but with the time we have, this is not it. Tuck in," he declared, and everyone clamoured to eat.
Auden couldn't be more glad about the fact that the Chosen One's adventures were helping him indirectly.
As he ate, he was glad to find that the food was extremely delicious. After he had been reborn, he had gone out to eat and found that the food of this time period was many times more delicious than the food he had eaten in his own time. It may have been the quality of the crops or something, but Auden had enjoyed every single food item he had tasted. He even tried a few clams and snails for fun—and that's when he decided to stop experimenting.
He now found that the food at Hogwarts was a level higher than what he had tasted in the Muggle world and a few magical restaurants he had visited with the Flammels to familiarise himself with the society.
Seems like the elves at Hogwarts are a step above others when it comes to cooking. I should find that portrait with the pear near the Hufflepuff house sometime later, he thought as he continued eating.
After the meal, the Headmaster was kind enough to send everyone to bed. Though Lockhart seemed to have been disappointed that he couldn't introduce himself today, chances are he might put on a show tomorrow.
As soon as the Ravenclaw prefect guided all of us toward the tower, she began explaining the lock.
"The key to open the door to Ravenclaw Tower is to use the knocker twice, after which you will be asked a question. The question is not based on theories or anything you need to study beforehand. It tests the wisdom of the one who answers. You have two chances to answer a question, after which you will be denied the opportunity to use the door unless someone opens it for you.
Be careful to reach the dorms before curfew. If you are late and stuck outside alone, it will be a straightforward trip to Filch's office—and nobody wants that now," she warned, and the students nodded.
She then used the knocker twice.
"What is something that is always in front of you but eludes you every single time?" the question came from the knocker.
"The future," the Ravenclaw prefect answered without batting an eye.
The door opened silently, making a few people's eyes widen.
"Don't be discouraged if you don't give the same answer. Sometimes one question can have multiple answers," she said as she led us into the room.
In one sentence: heaven to all bookworms. That was the only thing I saw everywhere. From the ceiling to the floor, there were books in every single place where they could be kept.
The pillar was a circular shelf with books. There were book holders on the sides of the chairs and cupboards. Even the coffee table had a few books on the sides.
Damn, I'm gonna abuse my system, I thought as I activated it immediately and watched as it started collecting information from the books around me. I didn't even need to know the information in those books. As long as it was recorded in my system, I could search for any information I needed at any time.
"Right now, you are going to take a small test to see how many of you have read the books you were given before the start of school. The one who gets the highest marks will get a special gift," she said, which seemed to spark competition among a few of the first-year Ravenclaw students. I did not feel any sort of tension at all, and Luna seemed to be at ease as well.
She then used her wand to bring a lot of test papers from the table. We were given fifty questions and twenty minutes to complete them.
I took the test paper and looked at it. It covered everything from the first few chapters of Potions to the main timelines present in the last pages of the history textbook.
As the others began trying their best to answer, I activated the system and asked each question one by one.
I finished the test within ten minutes and gave it back to Penelope Clearwater, who raised an eyebrow at me for finishing so soon. I heard the sound of the quills behind me increase in speed at that. Looks like I'll have highly competitive classmates this year.
Penelope looked through the test within a minute and put it down. She now had a wide smile on her face.
"Well, it looks like Ravenclaw got an exceptionally smart student this year."
"Auden H wins the test," she declared.
A/N- Hope you like it.
