Chapter 23 - Chapter 22 Aftermath and the Fraud II

"Oh," Luna finally realised what I was hinting at.

"Are you going to reveal it?" she asked.

"Nah, seems like a pain. Without any concrete evidence, we can't accuse him, and the chances are it will get revealed on its own after he makes a mistake of some sort. And with the rumour of the curse in the DADA class, it tells me that it might happen this year," Auden said as they began walking back to the castle.

The rest of the investigation went without any problems. Dumbledore was able to get his hands on Riddle's book without any sort of trouble. They were able to see that it was a dark artefact, but they were unable to find out what it was supposed to do. So it was left in the hands of Dumbledore to do whatever he wanted to do with it. Auden was sure that Dumbledore would have found the use of the book within a few days, so he put his mind to rest.

The rest of the day went without any problems. Auden knew that he might have missed a few details along the way, so he double-checked and found out that now there was nothing that could prove that Hagrid was not the culprit of the incident that happened 50 years ago. So Auden did the next best thing—he had Rita appear at the school to have an interview with the victim of the dark artefact incident. Coincidentally, while looking around the school on her own at one point, she came across the victim of the murder that had been committed on Hogwarts grounds 50 years ago.

A straightforward conversation was more than enough for it to be revealed that she had not been killed by Hagrid's supposed spider pet all those years ago.

That was the cover story the next day: DISCRIMINATION AGAINST HALF-GIANTS, MINISTRY SCAPEGOAT OF 50 YEARS AGO FOUND.

This went on to spark an entirely different set of accusations, but since the Minister of Magic as well as the Headmaster of Hogwarts at that time were both dead, the matter was put to rest. There had been talks about Hagrid getting his wand back soon, but the classes started without any problems that day.

Auden's classes were fulfilling without any problems. His Charms and Transfiguration were done in a highly productive manner. After introducing the spell of the day, Auden was able to perform it immediately and earn points for his house very easily. But right after the answer was given, the professors made sure to cover him with a repelling charm that prevented him from being perceived by others in the class. Luna was able to see through it every time, as she was sitting near him, but once it was explained, she agreed to keep quiet about it.

Therefore, Auden was able to earn points for his house and at the same time learn even deeper concepts about the spells being taught. The professors knew that there was a limit to how deep they could teach the limited number of spells of the year, so they also started to slowly teach him the advanced spells of the subsequent years as well.

While Auden was able to do well in Transfiguration and Charms, he was not at all behind in learning the other subjects. As an adult of seventeen years in his past life, he was careful while dealing with the plants in the greenhouse. Plus, with the compiled knowledge of each plant stored within his system—which contained records from hundreds of Herbology books—he was able to take care of each plant without any problems.

It was then that he figured out another function of his system, and that was making sure the knowledge recorded in it could not be false. Among the Herbology books he had recorded, there were some points which could be considered mistakes or faults. But the system filtered this knowledge and only presented the current set of information. Auden was glad about it and decided to spend some time later finding out its limits.

The rest of the classes, like Flying, were passed by him with flying colours, as his auditory abilities also extended to giving him stronger inner ears, which allowed him to have better balance even in tricky situations. And even in Potions, this ability turned out to be a boon.

He found out that he was able to listen to the minute changes of a potion that many were unable to observe until it reached the top layer of many non-transparent potions.

Snape had an eye on him, seeing that Dumbledore had managed to reveal the fact that something was special about him. Observing him take steps in Potions while not relying on what could be seen with the eye, Snape was able to figure out his skills in listening. Seeing their effects, Snape gave him a set of books about potions and sounds, which was an untouched topic as most wizards did not have the high-level auditory skills required to constantly check the sound of a potion along with its physical changes.

"Skills like these are made to be trained and developed to their fullest abilities. I do not want to see another student become a dunderhead by wasting his talent." Those were the words Snape said curtly before he went away after giving the books.

"That's the closest thing I'll get to him saying I'm a genius," Auden muttered, but he was really thankful for the books he got, as he was unable to find similar ones in his system. It must have been a really obscure subject for it not to be present in the bookstore from where he had obtained the majority of the books. And only deep potion enthusiasts like Snape will have copies of these books with them.

Overall, his schedule was almost filled up until the Christmas holidays due to the expectations placed on him by each of his teachers. But Auden wanted to live this life to the fullest and therefore decided to embrace it completely.

Pretty soon, he began to get famous throughout the castle's students.

A/N- hope you like it.
