Chapter 36 - Uncle Ricky's Warning

Luckily, Jay always managed to produce good results when he finished his work.

The addition of elephant grass, a favorite food for the village livestock, made Deli feel more relieved.

Because without the fresh elephant grass brought by Jay, many of the livestock in the village would have little appetite.

And if the livestock refused to eat, it's easy to imagine that the work that requires their labor would be neglected.

This of course affected the entire village's production, which ultimately impacted the final assessment of their harvest.

"You're very capable, Jay, always able to get good results," Deli praised Jay.

"Yes, Uncle, I'm just luckier," Jay replied with a smile.

"Luck is also a blessing, and not everyone can have it," Deli replied in response to Jay's words.

Then he said again, "Look, it seems your luck is very good. Look at these mussels and lotus roots. They're delicious!" Deli praised Jay upon seeing the two wonderful items Jay had brought.

"Hahaha, Uncle, I can only say that the Universe is kind to me," Jay replied again.

Seeing the envy in Deli's eyes, Jay then kindly took a stalk of lotus root from his basket and handed it to him.

"Uncle, you can keep this lotus root, and let Auntie cook it for dinner tonight," he handed her a 3 kg lotus root.

"Ahhh...Jay...are you serious?" Deli asked in surprise, shocked by what Jay had said.

Previously, Jay certainly hadn't been able to share, as his relationship with Uncle Deli wasn't very good and was still too shallow.

Because most of the items he brought back while searching for livestock were small game, it was basically impossible for Jay to share with him.

This was because he had only had a brief relationship with Uncle Deli, and it was during this foraging job that the two first communicated and bonded.

So, to some extent, the relationship between the two could only be described as a relationship between fellow villagers, not particularly close.

But after more than a week of getting to know each other and communicating frequently, Jay and Uncle Deli became close.

However, their closeness wasn't particularly strong, making it impossible for Jay to give him any of the game he had hunted.

So, despite feeling jealous at heart, Deli also realized that their relationship wasn't close enough to ask Jay for the game.

But this time, Jay clearly got something good, but it was of less value than the game like grouse, ducks, and jungle fowl he had brought back home.

He only had a few dozen kilograms of lotus roots and a few kilograms of mussels.

So, handing over a stalk of lotus root, weighing around 3 kilograms, was considered a fairly appropriate and kind gesture.

"Of course, Uncle. My family and I definitely can't finish it all, so let you and your family taste it for ourselves.

As for the rest, I'll share with my grandfather and uncle," Jay replied, telling Deli about the lotus root portion he had obtained.

"Very well, Jay, Uncle Deli is very grateful for your generosity, and I'm also very impressed with your devotion to your extended family." Deli expressed his gratitude and offered some praise to Jay.

"Okay, then, Uncle, I'll be back now. See you tomorrow," Jay said goodbye and left.

Watching Jay leave, Deli once again had to say that Jay was a good boy and seemed to have very good luck.

He was able to obtain all kinds of good things after his foraging for livestock.

A happy smile appeared on Deli's face, as he imagined the lotus root dish on his family's dinner table.

Jayang had left the village farm and was walking towards his grandfather's house, where he handed over several kilograms of lotus roots to his grandparents.

He also gave several kilograms of lotus roots to his Uncle Ricky.

He was greeted with a warm smile as he handed them over.

At Uncle Ricky's house, Jay chatted with his uncle for a while.

"You look so different, Jay. And look, you always bring good things back home," Uncle Ricky said to Jay, noting his nephew's remarkable accomplishments.

"Yes, Uncle." "You could say it's all because of my good luck," Jay replied with a smile.

"Look at that cocky face of yours, I know you're capable, so don't be so modest, Jay," his uncle joked.

"Okay, Uncle, you know me," Jay replied with a laugh.

"Uncle, I have some news. Recently, a bear entered the area in the neighboring village, causing panic in the neighboring village.

So, you should be careful when entering the forest looking for livestock feed," his uncle Ricky told him.

But when Jay heard the news, he was involuntarily quite shocked and surprised.

"What bear, Uncle?" Jay asked curiously.

"A black bear weighing over 500-600 kg," his uncle replied.

"Ehhh…a black bear." Jay was startled and subconsciously looked into the storage room where he currently held a large, dead black bear.

The large bear didn't appear to have many injuries, and upon closer inspection, there was only a small wound on its left ear.

It appeared to have a small hole, caused by a gunshot.

"Why? Are you scared?" Uncle Ricky asked again jokingly.

"Scared!!!! Yes, I'm scared, Uncle, isn't that normal?" Jay replied helplessly.

He was clearly scared, but he felt his fear could be alleviated by the presence of space, but he couldn't tell his uncle.

"Are there any special characteristics about the bear?" Jay asked again.

"Yes, it has a gunshot wound to its ear. Some hunters chased it away from a neighboring village, but it managed to escape." Ricky replied, telling him.

"Ahhhh... since he's already run away, we have to be careful," Jay replied, slightly awkwardly.

When he realized that the bear in his room was the one the neighboring village was looking for, he realized.

"Okay, Uncle, I have to go home," he felt there was nothing else to worry about.

Jay then said goodbye to his uncle, "Okay. You can go back, and be careful when you go into the forest," Ricky reminded him again.

Upon arriving home, Jay was greeted again by Nining, who had been patiently awaiting his return.

Like a doorman, Nining appeared alert and attentive, staring out at the oahae in their yard.

And immediately, when Nining saw Jay entering the yard, a cheerful voice immediately rang out.

"Brother, you're home!!!" Nining shouted happily, coming to hug Jay's leg.

"Ohhhh... apparently Nining is greedy, she can't wait to see her sister come home," Jay replied smiling while carrying Nining.

"Nining...Not greedy, big brother!!!" Hugged Jay with a slightly red face.
