Chapter 41 - In a Strange Place

"Where are you from?" Jay asked again, even though he knew it in his heart, he still asked.

"I'm from Sunagakure Village," Ameno replied with a melancholy expression, as if she were carrying a heavy burden. When Ameno mentioned her village, he felt sad for some reason.

"Oh, what village is that? Why have I never heard of Sunagakure Village?" Jay replied again, feeling strange because he had never heard of such a village. At least, according to the original owner's memory, there was clearly no village with that name.

"It's natural that you don't know, since it's located so far away..." Ameno replied again.

"How far away is my village?" Nining suddenly asked.

"So far away that I might not be able to return," Ameno replied to Nining with a slight smile.

Re-hearing Ameno's answer, Jay felt very strange because it felt like it was impossible to return to Sunagakure Village.

However, with Ameno's abilities as a ninja, she could probably return easily, at least with the various skills and abilities she possessed.

Jay felt that Ameno could move easily in the world he was currently in.

Because as far as Jay could remember, no extraordinary person had ever been discovered with abilities similar to the ninja from the Naruto world.

However, that didn't rule out the possibility that strange things were happening in his country's capital, such as the presence of similar ninjas. For now, Jay didn't have the ability to go there and investigate.

"If you can't come back, why don't you just stay at our house?" Nining asked Ameno innocently.

Hearing Nining's invitation, Jay and Ameno were shocked. Jay felt that his sister was very open-minded and even dared to invite a stranger to their home.

Jay, knowing Ameno's true identity, was clearly hesitant to invite Ameno to his home.

Because he didn't want to get involved in a problem he couldn't solve, with his current abilities, other than running and hiding from the ninja, he clearly lacked the ability to fight back.

So, if he were to let Ameno into his house without considering the consequences, Jay felt very reluctant.

"Is it true, I can stay at your house?" Ameno asked Nining again with bright eyes.

Ameno, who gradually woke up, realized that her arrival in this unknown place was clearly something she never expected.

And as a ninja, she naturally recognized some of the answers Jay and Nining gave, and heard that they had never heard of Sunagakure.

Ameno clearly felt this was highly unlikely. As one of the five strongest and largest ninja villages in existence, how could ordinary villagers like them not know of their village's existence?

This could only happen if Nining and Jay's current residence was extremely remote and didn't even interact with ninja.

But thinking about it, she felt it was simply impossible. How could the existence of the true rulers of the world, the ninja, be unknown to ordinary people like them?

So now Ameno needed a reason to stay and find out where she was, and only then would she know where she was.

Furthermore, there was another important matter that needed to be resolved with Jay. As a conservative woman, Ameno valued herself highly, and Jay, who had seen her entire body, had to take responsibility.

At least that's what Ameno remembered and learned from her grandmother: that once a man has seen a woman's entire body, he must take responsibility for her.

After all, a girl's innocence cannot be measured by anything except the responsibility of marriage.

"Yes, you can. Stay at our house temporarily until you feel better," Jay finally relented and agreed to Nining's proposal for Ameno.

"Good, that's what you have to do. Because you have to take responsibility for me, after all!!" Ameno suddenly said, complaining to Jay.

Hearing Ameno's complaint, Jay became confused and asked again.

"Responsibility? What kind of responsibility?" Jay asked Ameno again, confused.

"You've seen my entire body, so it's only natural you should take responsibility, right?!" Ameno retorted, her face flushed red, but she looked extremely upset and demanded responsibility from Jay.

"Ahhhh... that... wasn't it because I had to save you!!" Jay was still trying to explain.

He had no reason to defend himself.

How could he, who initially intended to help, suddenly have to take responsibility in the end?

"What? So you're hesitating??? …uuuuuuuuuuuu!" Ameno suddenly burst into tears and covered his face with his hands.

"Wow… you made Ameno cry, that's not nice… I'll report it to my mother!!" Nining was unhappy with her brother's behavior, which made Ameno cry.

"Ehhh… Nining… it's not like that!!" Jay was still trying to explain.

"Brother… mother told Nining that anyone who sees a woman's body must be responsible, or else they will be reported to the village head and paraded through town!!" Nining was like a teacher lecturing Jay.

"Ahhhh… that's… true," Jay then realized that, currently, some regulations are very strict, and one of them states that a man who acts inappropriately or disrespectfully towards a woman will be severely punished.

On the other hand, a woman's honor and chastity are highly emphasized in this era, so no one would dare act like a hooligan who harasses women.

But then Jay wondered, "Is this also the case in the ninja world?"

Putting that aside, Jay could only accept his fate and take responsibility for what he had done.

After all, he had nothing to lose by having a future wife who was also a beautiful ninja woman.

"Okay, I'll take responsibility for you, and I'll tell my family about this, so you don't need to worry," Jay said reassuringly.

"Really!!!" Ameno, who had been crying, suddenly opened her hands that were covering her face.

With a cheerful expression, she asked Jay, her eyes slightly red.

Seeing this, Jay felt doubtful. (You're crying, but there are no tears. Although your eyes are a little red, but...ah...never mind...) Jay complained inwardly.

"Of course it's true, so let's go back to the village," Jay then invited Ameno, who was feeling better, to return to her village.

"Great..." Ameno said cheerfully.

"Wow... Ameno's coming home with us... that's amazing..." Nining was also happy to have Ameno.

During their journey back to the village, Ameno asked Jay and Nining many questions about the village's condition and also sought out the village's exact address.

After learning the origins and address of her current location, Ameno became even more certain of her guess.

This made her even more sad, as the chances of returning to her village seemed incredibly slim.

From her memories, there was no country mentioned in the ninja world like the one Jay had described.

Furthermore, after learning the population of that country, Ameno became even more skeptical of what she had heard and learned.

(How could there be a country with a population of hundreds of millions of people in the ninja world, when it seems like the population of the entire ninja world is not that big!! On the other hand, it is very impossible that the existence of a country with such a large population was never known by the Five Great Villages in the ninja world!!!) Ameno thought in his heart.
