Chapter 39: Mark of basic magic
Dobby directly put the seed into the key hole and let the wand produce vitality into the seed to grow. Naturally the growth was obstructed but with strong vitality the lock was broken and the box opened up revealing the wand he saw in the illusion before.
The wand is quite long. It is around 2 feet long with 1 feet shaft and half a foot of handle area. In between there is a strange vortex like wooden cage with the lightning core inside like an eye of some monster.
Dobby did not touch it immediately instead he started to use the blood he brought to draw a magic circle on the spot. It is a transmutation circle for merging. There are many supplementary things that are placed in the magic circle.
With them in place he activated the magic circle placing the Elven wand on the other side of merging. Currently wizards cannot use transmutation because they cannot use magic without wand.
Transmutation requires the mage to use magic through his body without external support or amplification. Also they have to have knowledge on what they wanted to do and understand the properties of the things well to merge or separate them.
Here Dobby knows that the wand of Merlin is also made of wood and it is actually related to the lightning struck part of the world tree from ancient times. It was combined with the bone cage of a person that is very compatible with lightning.
Finally the lightning core is the pure energy source. On the other hand the Elven wand in his hand is made of the world tree and its source core. So naturally they are compatible. The vitality is just like lightning to some extent.
As long as they are carefully arranged they can be merged to complement each other. With the image in his mind he started the process of transmutation. Even Merlin would not expect that Dobby would merge two wands.
This way if there are any restrictions in Merlin's wand they would directly be broken. After all restrictions are made on things, if the original thing is gone where can the restrictions stay. It is not like they are made out of thin air.
They need a base, a structure, a source, a trigger point and a target. If these things are not present then the entire restriction is gone. Soon the merging process started and it is not as easy as it looks.
Dobby has to become a constant battery supply. Because both wants are high level artifacts he needs to stay here for a long time. Fortunately he came prepared and would not easily fall. Also he is sitting instead of standing.
This is a very important thing. Most transmutations fail because those people are arrogant and stand instead of sitting. They would feel pain in the legs and move lightly this would cause them to slip in concentration. In the next moment they would fail.
Dobby would not do this kind of beginner's mistake. So he sat there with his hands forming a hand seal and started to make the process of transmutation start. First the wants flew to the central area of the magic circle and entered into a bright light.
It is the light of disintegration and restructuring. The process is really hard and Dobby felt cold sweat falling down his head. He sat there as the materials consumed step by step without anything left.
Finally the bright light flashed even brighter and the process completed. Soon a wand appeared that is just like the lightning wand from before. But this time the lightning core is covered with green light and inside there is a vortex of lightning core and the vitality core.
They rotate at a fast speed and the surrounding energy condensed into a crystal. This crystal would guard the things inside. The crystal is the condensed energy and it is impossible to break. On the other hand if it is broken it would release something very destructive or constructive.
Both of them are disasters. If it is destructive then it would destroy half of the planet. If it is constructive most creatures on earth might mutate suddenly. This mutation can be anything and can cause any result in the end.
But that is very dangerous and Dobby doesn't want either things. With this wand je will be able to conquer many things without any problem. It is just that he don't want to show off his wealth and get targeted by some perverts.
With the wand on hand he immediately received the notification from the system.

Host has successfully completed the quest of finding Merlin's wand.

"Yes" Dobby replied. Immediately another notification appeared.

Dobby felt happy. He guessed that the second quest should be in the Merlin's castle. So he did not leave this place after completing the quest. With the wand on hand he is planning to use it to get the guidance to find the location of the map.
He actually brought over the marauder's map. This map is for the castle of Hogwarts. But here it can work in a different way. That is the mirror mapping. Also this map was upgraded by Dobby.
